I got this car about four months ago, and I have no complaints, other than I wish I got one with AC. For what it is, which is a cheap, entry level car, its a great value. Very fun to drive on back roads, and can pass decently on the highway if you drop it into fourth going 60ish. Manual transmission and clutch are good. Acceleration isnt blistering by any means (I have the PZEV version, with only 130 horsepower), but its fun on windy roads. I love how the back seats fold flat, cause it give my dogs a big area to hang out. I installed front seats for the 2004 SVT focus, which Id recommend, since the ones that came stock werent too supportive. I get 23-24 mpg, all city driving.

  • Nice, fun to drive - 2006 Ford Focus

Just brought My Focus a few weeks ago and am very pleased. Overall quality is better than I expected and its really a blast to drive. As a former Honda salesperson Im amazed at how well thought out the interior is and the comfort of the ride. Definitely happy with the experience so far.

  • Good Car, Even Better Value - 2006 Ford Focus

I bought this car in the summer during Fords Family Pricing event and got it for $11K. Great functionality, it can fit a elephant in it. Even better than its functionality is its performance, I love it! Drives like its on rails and 0-80 performance is a blast. 5 speed has a good feel and you always know where you are. Great functionality, amazing to drive, 30+ mpg average economy. Dont buy the car to be seen in, I still dont really like the idea of driving a Focus but if you want an inexpensive, reliable, FUN TO DRIVE, good little car, this is for you. And Ive gotta say, after 20,000 amazing miles, Ive gotten a lot more comfortable with the idea of having this as my car.

  • Disappointed now that it is several months - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

I was so happy to find a car I thought was going to be very comfortable. It was for a few weeks until the heated seats went crazy, the noise keeps getting louder, the performance when the Sirius on is real bad! I hope the people who rate their cars can come back here and add once they have had them several months like I have. Loud blinker sound is irritating to most people who ride in the car.

Had the car for a week and have put on a 1000km. Its actually fun to drive! Handles surprisingly well. Good acceleration, very user friendly. Love it!

  • Frugal Fun - 2006 Ford Focus

Other than wanting more power, particularly in the lower gears, my 2006 Focus ZX5 is a joy to drive.

The Mazda 2.3 engine coupled with the 5 speed manual transmission make for a fun car to drive. Very precise steering and plenty of road feel give this economy sedan a truly sporty feel. Rear wheel drive would be a real plus. Gas mileage suffers as one keeps the revs high to fully appreciate the performance capabilities.

  • Its all about fuel economy... - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

Ive had this car for about 3 months now and am pleased with it. I bought this car to get better fuel economy and it has delivered. Driving like an old man I can get 30-31 mpg with mostly freeway driving at around 65 mph. Driving a little more spirited with higher freeway speeds and more city driving I get between 25-27 mpg. Aside from fuel efficiency the cornering on this vehicle is a bit rough (sway) which is kind of annoying since I make a lot of U-turns. Also, the inside is very bland and there is a lot of road noise, but what do you expect for the price? Will I buy another Focus? Probably not, but I am very pleased with my purchase and expect to have this car for many years.

  • Best car out (for the money) - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

I picked this up as a commuter car to make the 140 mile round trip commute to school. Its got plenty of power, and is responsive. It rolls down the highway smooth as silk at 75-80 miles an hour. I got the cold weather package (heated seats and side mirrors), Sony audiophile package and all the goodies that come with the SES trim. For the money, this car can not be beat. Comfortable, stylish and plenty of pep from the 2L engine. No other entry level car competes with the Focus.

  • Gas Problem - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

I really like my new 06 Ford Focus ZX5 SE. Ive only got about 600 miles on it however, and when filling up with gas, both times the gas backs up and shoots back out of the filler tube within seconds and splashes all over me! I have to barely squeeze the pump handle in order to get the gas into the car - a real hassle and Im awaiting Fords answer to this problem.
