This Year's Model Updates:

Arriving in 2003 for the XLT supercab styleside configuration is the Heritage Edition, which includes 17-inch wheels, a chrome cab step and various stylistic flairs such as a black bedliner, a lower valance, paint striping and a paint scheme with a raised cut-line. Also new is an STX edition for the XL- and XLT-trimmed regular and supercabs that includes an MP3 player combined with a monochromatic color scheme and clear lights, among others. Upgrades for the fancy King Ranch flavor consist of fake wood for the interior, lighted step bars and an in-dash six-disc CD changer. For the Lariat, expect a standard rear window defroster and a Pioneer CD and cassette system (the latter is also newly available on the XL and XLT). Harley-Davidson models have the option of getting a two-tone black-and-silver paint. Finally, a new LATCH system helps you tie down the kiddie seats properly.

Pros:
  • Wide range of configurations and features, capable powertrains and suspension, attractive styling inside and out.
Cons:
  • Poor IIHS crash test result, everybody and his brother has one.

  • Exellent Truck - 2003 Ford F-150

It didnt have the trim option avaliable for my truck so I chose the closest thing. My truck is a XLT, regular cab, short bed, 4.6 V8, and an auto tranny. This by far is my favorite vehicle, it is very comfortable and the design is exellent. The engine is also very powerful and when you step on the gas, it really goes!

I traded a 2000 C1500 Silverado in to try my first Ford pickup. For the few weeks Ive had it, I love it. Although the horsepower is much less than my Chevy (231 vs. 270), it still drives great. The interior look and feel are better than the Chevy, and the ride/transmission is much smoother too. Well see if I end up a true convert. My Dad retired from General Motors so I could have bought any GMC at a discount. Thought I would try the Ford.

I needed something that had enough room to haul a family as well as haul other miscellanous junk we as homeowners seem to collect over the course of a year. The Ford F-150 Supercrew 2wd was exactly the vehicle I was looking for. I opted for the 5.4L V8 engine instead of the 4.6L. The 5.4L just gives the vehicle that added push. If you are going to get the F-150 go for the gold and get the bigger V8.

very reliable, good looking, quiet, great 4 wheel drive system. w/17inch tires, truck looks much larger, holds the road very well. never has to go back for any repairs when bought.

  • The Worst Vehicle I have Owned. - 2003 Ford F-150

This thing was in the shop 5 times in the first month. The build quality inside was terrible. A park bench is more comfortable than any of the seats. I never got around to towing anything because it was in the shop all the time. Finally got it bought back under lemon law.

Initial gas mileage high but leveled off. Had a problem with passenger door rattling, but other than that I have had an overall good experience so far
