Ford's AdvanceTrac electronic stability control that was previously available on V8 models only is now available on all models, except the XLS and XLS Sport and all AWD models. The NBX version now comes standard with the off-road package and "NBX" tailgate badging, and can be ordered with a moonroof. Limited and Eddie Bauer models get a quad bucket seating option when equipped with the third-row bench, which adds second-row buckets and a floor console. Family buyers of the 2004 Ford Explorer should note that the optional rear air conditioner no longer requires the purchase of the third-row seat. Finally, a tire-pressure monitoring system is now standard on XLS Sport and higher trim levels, and a rear cargo shade is optional on XLT, Eddie Bauer and Limited models.

Nimble & quick - 2004 Ford Explorer
By Doug B - December 3 - 10:00 amI "right-sized" from my Expedition with no regrets. Great road manners and adequate towing cability for all my needs. Much friendlier at gas pump as well. Everyones in love with "RED FIRE" metallic color too. XLT is Best bang-for buck on road today.

By Sandra - October 13 - 4:53 pmI bought my 2004 Explorer Eddie Bauer early this year. I had one problem with it and that was that the solenoid needed replacement which was covered by my warranty. I also had a problem with the rear windows where the electric motor broke and needed replaced. Other than that, I am very happy with my Ford. I would definitely buy another one in the future. My husband also has a Ford (F150) and it runs great. Very minimal complaints!

By Bob-0 - September 26 - 10:00 amI absolutely love my explorer I am a 19 year old college student and it has everything I could want and more. Its ability to handle in weather and its tight turning radius makes it a execellent overall driving experience. The best thing I could say about this car is that it is a beast of a machine. I was rear-ended and the bumper only sustained a 2 inch crack while the guy who hit me totalled the front of his car. The only downside is the lack of boost and the sound system, but my youthful aspect has fixed that.

The styling is beautiful, the ride exceptional and the quality better than I could have hoped for on any SUV. I would, and have, recommend this vehicle to anyone wanting a SUV.
