Overview & Reviews
After just one year in production, the Sebring Convertible receives several changes. The most significant are a quieter intake manifold for the 2.4-liter engine and the availability of Chrysler's AutoStick transmission. Other changes include the addition of new colors, auto-dimming mirror, trip computer, enhanced vehicle theft system and damage-resistant power antenna to the options list.
- There is quite a bit of luxury in this sporty coupe or convertible. A short options list makes the decision easy.
- It would be nice to find the 5-speed manual transmisison with the V-6 engine.

No more Chryslers - 1997 Chrysler Sebring
By Chrysler Never Again - October 6 - 2:00 amNew trnsmission at 80,000 miles. The top began falling apart after 2 1/2 years. The rear defrost died after 4 years. The car is taking on water in the drivers side whenever the rains are heavy. Just a poorly built car.

Good looking - Bad problems - 1997 Chrysler Sebring
By tonid - February 19 - 2:00 amDont get me wrong I love to drive my car, I put an air intake on her and this bumped the bhp to 177 and she turns heads. But she has been in the shop every couple of months, it is so bad they know my cell phone number by heart at the dealer. The roof has always leaked, I have had to have a new roof and a new carpet it has been so bad. I went through four batteries in four years due to a slight leak and corrosion. I now am experiencing a rough idle, an oil warning light, a break warning light, roof leaks and the interior panels are breaking down. I dont expect cars to last for ever but I definately will not be buying a new one.

Quasi-pleased only - 1997 Chrysler Sebring
By RATCHETT - December 16 - 2:00 amI initially thought this car was pretty comfortable and had some power...a lie. There is NO pick up for a V-6, and since the power is not there, I expected better gas mileage...a lie. Rear deck is so high that backing up is difficult, & "blind spot" is huge b/c of the position of the rear/side mirrors & back psgr. window. Tranny making a high-pitched whine (at 50,000 miles) at speeds under 60mph. Seats too hard for any distances. Front speakers did NOT hold up to Skynerd and Zepplin. Ashtray positioned so that jacket/coat covers it. LONG warm up time. Turning radius should be MUCH tighter. Interior cramped. Several other irritants typical of Chryslers.

DO NOT BUY - 1997 Chrysler Sebring
By SFTURBEVILLE - August 23 - 2:00 amI PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2000 WITH JUST OVER 30,000 MILES. ONCE THE ODOMETER REACHED 36K THE PROBLEMS STARTED. I CURRENTLY OWN THE VEHICLE AND HAVE PUT CLOSE TO 10K DOLLARS INTO KEEPING IT ON THE ROAD. THERE HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. I BELIEVE THAT MY CAR HAS SPENT MORE TIME WITH THE MECHANIC THAN I HAVE SPENT IN IT. I SAY AGAIN DO NOT BUY THIS CAR.

Beautiful but TOTALLY UNRELIABLE - 1997 Chrysler Sebring
By Bart Fox - March 24 - 2:00 amMy title says it all... this car gives you a lot for a little price... but you pay for it with constant mechanical and electrical problems. Bad breaks, too. I will never buy Chrysler again.
