This Year's Model Updates:

The TrailBlazer gets a host of minor interior improvements this year. Seating has been restyled and boasts comfort and quality improvements. Detail changes include revised chrome accents, trim enhancements and a new instrument panel appearance. Among the new options are an audio system with CD/MP3 compatibility and full-length side curtain airbags (which replace last year's front-seat side airbags).

Pros:
  • Strong engine performance, comfortable highway ride, extensive features list, user-friendly controls.
Cons:
  • Skittish handling around corners, numb steering, generic interior design with mediocre materials.

Purchased TB to replace an 02 Explorer (first and absolutely last Ford). Pleasure to drive, good performance, good reliability. Lots of wind noise. Not much storage up front. Seats could fold down easier with more room (they hit the front seats). Seat belts arent the most comfortable, and hard to reach. Love the heated leather, stereo, sunroof, driver info center. Gas mileage could be better. Cup holder locations arent very convenient. Great ride, though, and Chevy reliability is the best, especially after owning a Ford.

Overall I am extremely satisfied with my TrailBlazer. I think there are a few improvements that could be made to better accomodate the driver and passengers but I am sure that Chevrolet will work out the kinks in years to come. Hopefully Chevrolet will find a way to increase the fuel economy on the TrailBlazer. This is my biggest complaint.

  • Great for towing, bad for driving - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Leased it to tow my boat, great for towing, tons of power. Dont believe what sticker says about gas mileage, they like to pad the numbers. If I would have known I was gonna get 11 mpg I would have leased something different. Love to change my own oil, but for the life of me why would they bury the oil filter so you cant get at it, and Im a mechanic. All that aside its not a bad SUV, if they built an SUV that got 40 mpg everyone would buy it.

  • 2nd TrailBlazers in 3 years - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

I do lots of driving. My first T- Blazer (2002) racked up 80K in 2 yrs with only reg. maint. I then purchd an 04. Already has 30K. Excellent ride, ft seats could be better, rears are best in class. No road noise at all. Steers, brakes, corners excellent. Lots of compartments- including sunglasses!! My 02 had an aux pwr outlet in the rear and a glovebox light. My 04 does not. Cmon GM, how much did that really save? Headliner wont stay up. Gas mileage could be better, but it is a truck w/280 HP. 14-16 hard city driving, and 18-22 @ 75 MPH. Not that bad, but I am sure all trucks could be better. Bose radio is a must. Excellent agressive styling. Well laid out interior. Great to tow/haul.

first rented this vehicle by accident, was supposed to get another model. after a trip a thousand miles away, this vehicle was comfortable, roomy and very smooth riding, I told my husband that when i got ready to purchase another vehicle that a Chevy trailblazer was going to be that vehicle. 3 months later I am the proud owner of a Chevy trailbalzer and I love it!

  • Fine Truck - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

If youre tall and are tired of not fitting into anything, the Trailblazer is a godsend. At 65", I fit perfectly. My knees don’t hit the dash or the steering wheel. Drives very smooth and quietly, handles better than the original review states. Plus its more attractive than the competitors.

  • Early but happy - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Only 3 weeks into my new LS but all indications are excellent. Love the ride despite some reviews of mushy cornering. I dont take corners at 75 mph so its fine by me. Interior is just fine, easy to use and reach controls, simple and straight forward. Looks great on the road with planty of power. Hard to pass up with the GM family discount and rebate for just over 24k OTD. Overall I am very happy with it, so far.

Ive had this truck for 10 months problem free. The ride is not as good when first bought new , but its still better than most mid size SUVs. Solid SUV , would buy again .

  • So far so good - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

My 2005 TrailBlazer EXT LT has almost everything I could ask for. With 600 miles on it everything is tight and working as it should. Based on a less than perfect experience with my last vehicle (2002 Blazer) I hope the not to report back that things have fallen apart in a year or so. I really like the ride and handling. Cabin space is much better than the 4Runner I was looking at, amenities are more affordable (at least up front, resale value is another thing). I didnt get the sunroof, it gives me an extra inch of head room but getting it out meant I had to get the DVD player (not needed but my daughter loves it). All in all it is a VERY nice ride every day, I am impressed.

The vehicle stop running the first day at only 29m and had to be towed. Problem with the heated mirrors, the 4X4 system, the engine makes funny noises, all kind of little problems you should not expect before 4-5 years are there after only a few months. Very poor service at the dealer.
