This Year's Model Updates:

A touchscreen navigation system is optional on Tahoe this year, and all models now come standard with the overhead rear liftgate (with separate rear lift-glass). The Z71 off-road package can now be had with two-wheel drive.

Pros:
  • Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, numerous available amenities.
Cons:
  • Spotty build quality, interior materials could use improvement.

Picked mine up in Sept, needed some time to adjust (was driving a 2 seater conv for the last 7 yrs) but now am loving it, has a great ride, and the gas milage keeps getting better, up to 13.5 mpg now (only have about 1100 miles on it though so hopefully will continue to improve)Got it with the captains in the back, friends say its like sitting in their living room

Comfort is out of this world. Everything you need is at your fingertips and easy to use. Enough room for the family and more. Wouldnt buy anything else now that I have owned this SUV!

I love my SUV. It has great pick-up when merging into traffic, its an eye catching truck due to the special ordered 18-inch chrome wheels, the beautiful shade of red & the complimentary pin striping. I cant say enough great things about how good I feel driving it. My friends are all very impressed also.

This car takes the bumbs very well. If you work 5 minutes away from your house or just dont drive alot, this is a perfect car to drive. I should have bought the Honda Pilot instead of this. This car handles like a big wide cruise.

This is the best SUV Ive ever owned. I have previously owned a 2000 Blazer, and a 2002 Trailblazer. The Tahoe has it all over both of them. I wouldnt trade it for anything.

very nice car should have 350 engine for better pulling power, z-71 needs bumper protection down side mine already has several nicks from people opening doors in parking lot

I love these trucks! They are comfortabel, however miliage is slim...too expensive! Well, I really like the leather seats and all the nice features, including on star! Dark blue is the best color. Dont change them to somthing square and keep up the beautiful chevy models...looking forward to new cars!

  • $$$$$ EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN $$$$$ - 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe

We owned a Chevy Astro van several years ago. We sold it because it was nickel-and -dimming us way too frequently. We switched to Ford products and noticed a dramatic difference with over 250,000 miles on the Explorer we sold after buying this Tahoe. We bought a Tahoe because the Ford SUVs were blowing spark plugs out of the heads. We purchased a used Tahoe that was loaded from a mature private party after having the vehicle checked-out professionally. Maintenance records indicated that the transmission had already been replaced by a dealer under warranty. I have two major gripes with this vehicle: 1. The vehicle is in the process of nickel-and-dimming us with repairs needed such as the rear heater core for the passenger compartment leaking, the electronic instrument cluster going out, and the four wheel drive selector switch getting stuck in 4WD for no apparent reason. 2. The transmission. While in overdrive and in cruise control on the highway at speed, the transmission downshifts consistently (too often) at every little rise in the road. My independent transmission repair facility tells me thats the way its designed. WHY? This is a well designed, comfortable vehicle that does very well in the snow and ice of Colorado. However, Chevrolet needs to do a far better job with the longevity and reliability of their components. Were simply not used to this much unnecessary maintenance with our garage full of Fords that we put tires and brakes on, along with routine fluid changes. Shame on you Chevy!
