A touchscreen navigation system is optional on Tahoe this year, and all models now come standard with the overhead rear liftgate (with separate rear lift-glass). The Z71 off-road package can now be had with two-wheel drive.

wont buy another one - 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe
By sandyc44 - September 11 - 2:00 amBought this brand new and after 3 years the radiator had a leak and the fluids from the radiator and transmission were mixing so I needed a new radiator and transmission $4000. Neither the dealership or manufacturer would back it up. The instrument cluster went out after 2 yrs, speedometer doesnt work. Lots of rattles. It is fun to drive but now that its over 5 years old with 140k+ miles its very loose. Back rear window motor went out. Very expensive vehicle to buy and maintain. I had an all wheel drive Passat which handled better in the snow. Never had this many problems with any other vehicle Ive owned.

Expensive Mechanical Nightmare - 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe
By smp - June 8 - 8:11 pmPaid $47000 including a $3000 extended warranty. Drove for 3 1/2 years before it needed a new radiator and transmission-$4000. Radiator cracked and fluids were mixing. Also found out the ext warranty co. went bankrupt so not only are we out $3000 for warrant but another $4000 for the repair. Now 9 months later needs another $1000 repair, the transfer something or other. Drive switches from 2WD to 4WD at random and no one can find anything wrong with it. Speedometer breaks at random for a few days, usually on a trip, then starts working again. Will NEVER purchase a GM vehicle again. Biggest hunk of junk ever. Fun to drive but a mechanical nightmare.

Worst Vehicle I ever bought - 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe
By herrmajj - November 25 - 3:04 pmTransmission, 3 seperate wiring issues, steering column, new cluster, seat adjustments went crazy and would try to smash you into the dash and now upcoming differential work. That is not to mention how uncomfortable the seats are for a long drive. The kids cannot put the seats all the way back in the second row because the armrest hits the side of the interior. Very disappointed. List price as equipped 54K and thought I got a deal at 31K. Guess I was wrong. Going to see if I can get in a Sequoia.

Hot Radio/Drive Train Problems - 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe
By Debi - August 16 - 11:38 pmI have owned my Tahoe since December 2004. From the first day, both radios have been extrememly hot. So hot to the point you cannot keep your hands on them. Now for the past 3 months, the transmission slips, sometimes it sticks between neutral and drive. Sometimes the transmission kicks into drive, then slips back into neutral. This has been a horrible experience. The dealership cannot find any transmission problems. I have no idea why it is doing this, but, I am ready to end this Tahoe nightmare.

g ms junk - 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe
By jim j - November 30 - 6:48 pmTailgate shows open when closed. Dealer has had it 3 times. Not fixed. Certified letter went to gm a few days ago. No answer yet. When car is shut off after heating up, the shield above the muffler BANGS for several minutes after. Dealer 3 times, not fixed. Signal seeker radio only stops on 1/2 of the stations available. Dealer 3 times, not fixed. No control of lights when opening doors without them coming on. I like control. NO door, except drivers, can be opened with key. Drivers seat back cannot be tilted when back seat is down. Poor gas mileage. My Cadillac get twice as good mileage as tahoe.

Okay - 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe
By Willam Anderson - October 27 - 2:00 amThis car takes the bumbs very well. If you work 5 minutes away from your house or just dont drive alot, this is a perfect car to drive. I should have bought the Honda Pilot instead of this. This car handles like a big wide cruise.
