Overview & Reviews
The supercharged Impala SS joins the lineup for 2004. Besides offering 240 horsepower, the SS features a tightened suspension to allow it to take corners with a bit more gusto. Base and LS models have redesigned bench and bucket seats, and a sport appearance package is now available on the base sedan.
- Six-passenger seating availability, good crash test scores, torquey V6 engines.
- Vague steering, soggy suspension on base and LS models, low-buck interior.

This Car ROCKS - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By Kalifornia - August 8 - 2:00 amI love my Impala LS. My parents picked it out for me and it wasnt really what I wanted as a high school student. After driving it a mile down the road I fell in love. Its speedy and VERY fun to drive. Im always getting comments on my Impala. If you get one, get one with everything....

Better buy this one - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By Luv the Impala - August 2 - 2:00 amBeing a bigger guy (64", 280 lbs) I looked for a car where I could be comfortable. None matched the Impala in comfort, ride, performance, and price. Ive got the 3.4 and it is impressive. The mileage is far better than I would have thought possible. Its a quiet ride befitting the large car that it is. The handling is far better than I ever hoped it could be. Ive yet to feel body roll in any turn. Ive had a couple of times where the 4 wheel disk brakes were needed and I can say they are definitely the way to go. Fit and finish are impeccable. The medium gray metallic shows off very well in sunlight or clouds.

Disappointing Mileage for 3.4L - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By retsoor - July 10 - 3:28 pmOverall this 04 Impala is great! Its a good solid car and comfy to drive. Disappointed with fuel mileage. Top mileage for this 3.4L has only been 27.3 MPG. Besides everyday use, I use it to haul kayaks and bicycles . Had spoiler and alloy wheels installed. It has never let me down, though. Had a 2001 base Impala that was horrible. It spent more time in service department than on the road. Feel 04 Impala was overpriced but got a $4000 rebate and good price on trade-in. Yes, I would buy another base Impala. No car is perfect.

Nice Car - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By rls2882 - June 15 - 10:00 amThis is the third Imala Ive owned. This ones black with grey leather interior. Has all the toys which is nice. Good results thus far but a nagging problem are the ac ducts on drivers sided. One either freezes one hand or face. There is no other alternitive except turning off the ducts. Very poor design from the get go. Getting acceptable milage and am happy with the car.

Bang for your buck - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By Gerald Del Sasso - May 19 - 6:59 pmI read reviews about the impala and I was couldnt help to notice Cheverolet advertised this large car was best in class gas mileage. So I took it for a test drive and I have been smiling ever since. I am so happy I bought this car and its alot more than I thought I could afford. The 200 HP 3.8L has some giddy-up and around town and I am still averaging over 28mpg according to the trip computer it came with. The XM package coupled with the 200W stereo make this car a must have for anyone who has drives 15000 a year. Dont take my word for it, you wont believe how far you dollar will stretch.

Good Car - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By Jason - May 15 - 9:04 pmI just got this car 2 weeks ago and have found it to be nothing but a pleasure. I was a little concerned when i seen the brown sludge under the radiator cap, but was relieved when the dealer told me it is a sealent put there from the factory. The room in this car is amazing, at least coming from my old car, a 1997 Dodge Stratus.

My red Impala - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By jessescar - May 3 - 1:16 pmThis car is by far the BEST I have ever owned (Stratus,Intrepid,Corolla,Mustang)! I had waited 2 yrs to purchase an Impala and let me tell you, it was worth the wait! The drive is incredible! So smooth and quiet and the acceleration and cornering is impressive! Gas mileage is great for a larger car (22/32). The interior is full of room and trunk size is amazing. My kids and hubby (big guy!) fit perfectly and comfortably. The stereo has lots of different features (auto volume, radio data system,)and sounds fantastic! This car turns heads constantly (especially when its clean and BRIGHT red!).

2004 Chevrolet Impala Base Sedan - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By G Simpson - April 11 - 12:50 pmThe Impala is a modern stylish sedan with plenty of passenger room, trunk space, and a responsive engine that accelerates when you need it, yet gets excellent gas mileage! I love my Impala and am thinking about trading my other car for another Impala.
