  • Good, but... - 2003 Chevrolet Impala

Overall I love my Impala. However, my transmission has slipped some... the tech said it was a bad solonoid valve that tends to go bad on all of them. The steering shaft had to be repacked and the dex-cool stuff turned into what looked like modeling clay. I converted it to green stuff. On the positive side would be the fuel economy, which is exceptional, the room, and the solidity of the car.

Purchased brand new in early 03. Had brake rotors resurfaced with 600! (thats right 600) miles on the car. New rotors at a few thousand miles. Another brake job at 20 some thousand miles. New tires and a wheel alignment around 40000 miles, and its finally running smoothly. dealing with GM, and service managers were a real pain. Now have 55000 miles on car and its finally broke in and rides fine with no mechanical problems (knock on wood) Im a little concerned with the intake manifold leakage problem GM has had with the 3800 motors (plastic). I guess Ill see if I get lucky with that

  • A decent family / touring car - 2003 Chevrolet Impala

Overall its a good car. Handles fairly well for the size & lack of sport suspension. Nice dash layout, good factory stereo (I have the 200W cd player, an upgrade). Complaints: engine could use more power, the seats could be more comfortable, and the leather is not soft at all - it feels more like vinyl than leather. Road noise is a little high, and the auto-on headlights cycle on and off at annoying times. Otherwise, a pretty solid car for a family or a 30- or 40- something guy who likes a roomy ride. I wouldnt have it without the sport appearance package though. Too bad there wasnt a real SS in 2003. I like the new Impala.

  • The Bed Rock of GM Value - 2003 Chevrolet Impala

I was not initially impressed with this Impalas styling as I thought it was a bit conservative but inoffensive. But a closer look at the contents, prior experience with its 3.8L V-6 (older design) and a test drive converted me out of my 2000 Chrysler LHS which while roomier, and less prone to wind gusts, used 89 octane fuel (vice the 87 octane for this Chevy) and more of it. The Impala LS was also more tightly assembled and to date, Ive had not one problem. GMs current profitability problems certainly werent caused by this Chevy!

  • Impala LS Sport - 2003 Chevrolet Impala

This is a great car. It comes with the LS sport package(Corvette tail lights, carbon-fibre interior trim, little Impala logos on the door panels on the inside, shiny exaust tip, 16" sporty 5 spoke wheels and lower front fascia extensions. The interior is really big, even though I like small cars better.

  • FAMILY CAR - 2003 Chevrolet Impala

This car is a nice family car. The interior is nice and I especially enjoy the high end stereo system. The car has decent pickup and passing power. The only problem being a thud when the driver window goes up in extra cold (below 40) weather. The best part was, with incentives, I was able to purchase the car for $17,000.

  • Bad 2 the Bone car! - 2003 Chevrolet Impala

This is wonderful car. Great car to get in and out of! Great stereo, seats are comfortable. I feel safe in this car. I get more head turns in this car then my grand prix gt2.

  • uncomftable unexciting - 2003 Chevrolet Impala

Car is very uncomfortable to sit in. Workmanship quality is very good.

  • This car rocks. - 2003 Chevrolet Impala

I see plenty of older folks driving this car, but I dont know why. The engine roars and the handling is great. Make sure to get traction control, its the AWD of the future.
