This Year's Model Updates:

There are only minor upgrades in store for the 2003 Impala. New options include a side airbag for the driver and XM Satellite Radio. Remote keyless entry is now standard and four new exterior colors are available. Both base and LS models get new wheel designs.

Pros:
  • Six-passenger seating availability, good crash test scores, torquey V6 engines.
Cons:
  • Vague steering, soggy suspension, low-buck interior.

Nice performing & styling, Superbr job well done. The suspension is awful, you can feel every expansion joint in the road. throttle pedal too soft. The contour of the seat was designed for a 54" hunch back, very poor for a person 6 1" with good posture. Soften the suspension and flatten the seats and it would be a very comfortable vehicle.

Ive been driving the Impala base model for the past year as a company car. My company is yanking the company car plan and is now paying us for mileage. I loved the size and space of the base model. So, I went out today and bought a 2003 LS (1sc) fully loaded. Cant wait to get it home. Looking forward to the extra power of the 3.8 and the upgraded sound system, along with heated seats this winter.

Thoroughly researched similar cars. Felt the Buick LeSabre to be the closest in comparison. Impala much more stylish and youthful. Options incuded in price of the LS is remarkable!! Great value, very happy with choice!!

Had 2 Honda Accords since 92. One was V6. Wanted to use GM Supplier program. I did extensive research on the GM cars. Compared Regal LS/GS, Grand Prix GT, Intrigue and Impala base/LS. I am pretty happy with my choice after 10k miles. The stereo/sound system is the best Ive ever had. The homelink was a must. This cars ride/handling/suspension is very sporty for its size, A+. Safety ratings are a key selling point for this family man. We fit the two car seats in the back with room to spare. Dual climate control is nice, and the trunk is roomy. I also like the taillight covers. The rear spoiler with the raised butt takes a little getting used to.

I PURCHASED MY 2003 IMPALA LS 8/2003 AND SO FAR I AM PLEASED WITH THE PERFORMANCE AND IT DEFINITELY HAS LOTS OF PEP. THE INTERIOR COULD BE MORE COMFORTABLE (WHERE IS MY RIGHT ARM SUPPOSED TO GO? YES, GM DESIGNERS MOST OF US HAVE ONE AND IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU COULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT!)AND THERE IS A DEFINITE BLIND SPOT WHEN BACKING UP-BUT OVERALL ITS A CAR I PLAN TO KEEP FOR SEVERAL YEARS TO COME.
