Overview & Reviews
Now into its third year of production, the Impala soldiers on as Chevrolet's bread-and-butter family sedan. Minor upgrades this year include standard dual-zone air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo and LATCH child seat tether anchors. A leather-accented 60/40 split bench seat will be available later this year on LS models, and two new exterior colors have been added.
- Six-passenger seating availability, good crash test scores, torquey V6 engines.
- So-so styling, wallowy suspension,low-buck interior.

Competent But Bouncy - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By Albie12 - February 28 - 10:00 amThis is a solid car in every respect, with the exception of its ride. Although comfortable and responsive on a short ride, the bumps and bounces take their toll over the long haul. Ive found that I must be very mindful upon entering driveways, as the vehicle tends to frequently bottom out. For its engine size, the car garnishes commendable fuel economy (30 mpg)on the highway. The vehicle handles very well and the brakes are true and responsive. One feels safe inside of the vehicle and the seats feel nice. Theres also plenty of seating room for three six-foot adults in the back. The trunk is cavernous and my family loves the safety features.

I Like the LS - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By Tony The Tiger - November 22 - 2:00 amI took a look at the car when a friend of mine showed me hers. The LS was top of the line in 2002. For a family man who wants a comfortable car with a sporty fair, this car is ideal.

Impala needs - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By Imp02mar - September 11 - 10:00 amThe car sets to high in the back and visibility is limited due to window slope and size. There is a lot of road noise from the tires on most road surfaces but side noise seems to be low. Gas mileage is a little lower then I expected (by 2 or 3 MPG). The suspension is also to stiff for a full size seden.

2002 Impala LS - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By larryfl - August 1 - 2:00 amWeve owned this car for almost 18 months. Very few problems, nothing serious. Car handles well for its size and type (sport suspension) and gets phenominal gas mileage -- upwards of 30MPG at 80MPH. Lots of room and huge trunk. Its an excellent family car and were very pleased. If I had to list a few negitives, Id say the interior fit and finish could be better.

So far good value - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By SueZee - June 11 - 10:00 amI purchased the Impala in May of 02. I looked and drove foriegn sedans as well. I bought the top of the line. It has more bells and whistles then I could have thought of. Mine came with On-Star as well. The hands free phone although expensive, is a lovely addition for a hard working mom who needs to stay in touch. The pick-up is descent as well as the handling and fuel economy. Respectable crash test ratings and a price that couldnt be beat are what sold me. Now I have to see if it stands the test of time.

Worth the look - 2002 Chevrolet Impala
By nivloc1 - July 17 - 2:00 amI have had the car now for 2 months and already has 8800 miles. Not a squeak to be heard. Car is solid and responsive. I drive 10 over posted highway speed and expect to be there when merging. With this car, thats not even an issue.... Performance is what you would expect in a more expensive sports car and not in a 4-dr sedan. Even looks better than most sports cars. I compared vehicles up to $60K and would choose this one again. Given my driving habits, gas mileage is a respectable 26mpg combined Highway/City. The interior design needs major touchups.
