purchased my colorado in dec 2003 took it on a long drive (ohio to florida) the following so i got a pretty good test drive handles pretty well i think a 6cly would be better suited for the size on the crew cab 4x4 but the 5cly is under powered you can tell ther should be more there when your in traffic and want to pass and changing lanes could have done more with the wheels the dull gray is just kind of bla

  • A great new truck from Chevy - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

I test drove this truck today, and WOW, GM has designed a great new smaller pickup. I personally found it to be a much better truck than the Dakota. The Colorado gets much, much better mileage than the Dakota. Also, the Colorado handles better and accelerates superbly. Granted, you can get the Dakota with a V8, but why would you want to suck up the 13mpg?

  • Excellent Small Pickup - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

My Colorado came with the I5, auto, buckets and the ext. cab. I spend countless hours in my truck. Contrary to the pro reviews, I find nothing wrong with the interior design/materials. Compared to Japanese branded trucks, the quality difference in materials was negligible. Every part on this truck is aligned as expected and perfectly matched and spaced. The ride is wonderful, the truck goes exactly where you point it, and doesnt wander over bumpy roads. Dodge, Toyota and Nissan trucks were nice, but not as good. GM got it right, this is an excellent truck.

the truck has been 100% reliable with 110,000 km on it. Average fuel economy has been 23.5 mpg. I did not care for the factory seats so I upgraded them to buckets with a console. I use the truck alot for towing snowmobiles on a trailer up mountain roads and for work. the truck has also performed well off road when required.

Been driving Fords all my life, purchased this 2004 in 12/06 with 90k miles. Wow GM you did it this time. What a great truck. Fun to drive, tight as the day it was made. Put a sno way plow on it. Great truck! Sorry no more Fords for me!

  • Still Spectacular - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Anyone looking to buy a compact pickup should really consider the Colorado. I am in sales and drive my truck every day. I have 59,000 on the clock and it has been nothing short of spectacular. The only part I have needed to replace on my truck was a faulty O2 sensor, other than the standard maintenance items. My truck rides great, handles great and the I5 motor has plenty of power, even when pulling my two horse trailer. If you want V8 power, buy a full size..

Ride is like a car. I have the Z-71 package. We have taken it on a 1800mile trip and it performed great in all driving conditions. We averaged 23 mpg on trip.

  • Little truck, big performance - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

With 30,000 miles around the corner I still get a smile on my face when I drive my Colorado. I drive 35 miles one to work so it pays to have a good looking truck that gets a 24 mpg average and comfortable too. Reliabilty isnt a worry for me because it just feels like a solid little truck.
