Overview & Reviews
Not much. An upgraded stereo with a CD and MP3 player is now available on the base coupe and sedan. The Sport Appearance package that includes 16-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and sport suspension is also available on the base coupe and sedan.
- Low price, torquey four-cylinder engine, optional satellite radio and OnStar.
- Ancient design inside and out, cheap interior materials, poor build quality, low resale value, poor side-impact and front-offset crash test results.

Best Value - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
By alanseymour - May 17 - 12:48 pmThe car is reliable. I have had no problems for over 116,000 miles so far. I do however change my oil on regular (specified) intervals. It has for a 2.2 Liter engine, good acceleration and it can drive smooth at 100 mph. I get ~ 29 miles per gallon with regular 87 octane gasoline - not bad. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a reliable, efficient commuter vehicle.

Great little car - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
By roger - May 31 - 11:17 amThis car is not ugly. It is very cute and stylish. Interior could have used some improvement. I got 48 mpg on the highway and high 20s in town. This car is very fun to drive and handles beautifully. For the money paid, it is a great commuter car.

04 Cavalier has been a great car - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
By Great Car - May 8 - 7:14 pmI dont drive mine much but wanted to say its been a great car. Only problems were the blower fan starting ticking after a year and the dash board cover bubbled here in the AZ heat, both under warranty. I wanted to suggest to those that have check engine light probs to check your gas cap and make sure it is seated right and the gasket has no hairline cracks. My check engine light comes on if I dont put the (locking) gas cap on correctly. The light also comes on when I drive up in the mountains like 6800 feet from phoenixs 300 or so foot elevation in less than a 2 hour drive. It must be very sensitive. It goes off by itself after the car gets used to the differences.

Best car I have ever owned - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
By Mmmm Toast - February 28 - 10:09 pmI love my cavalier it amazes me how i can drive around town all day and use almost no gas. I am amazed by all the power I am getting out of the little ecotech 4 banger. my cavalier is mostly stock (no engine mods) I have a AEM cold air intake and a GReddy evo 2 exhaust and i can lay rubber in first shift to second and lay some more and get 30+mpg on the ride home, hard to do without switching cars. I dont know how well the car handles stock because mine was dropped probably 3 in before i got it but it handles like a race car i can turn a corner doing 30 in town:) i bought it and drove it back to KS from MO couple hours and was comfortable the whole way

Great Car - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
By houtcbs - December 29 - 2:00 amThis is a reliable, tough, fun to drive little car. I bought it as work car as I rack up a lot of miles but now find myself driving it all the time. It is a joy to drive, very forgiving and hugs the road like vehicles priced much higher. In short, this car has provided the best value for my money from any car I have purchased. You want affordable and fun? Test drive a Cavalier.

Cant beat this price! - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
By yortch - May 24 - 10:00 amCompared to its competitors (Civic, Corolla, etc.), this car beats them in price (10.7K), engine (2.2L), and size (180 in. lenght). The design is a bit outdated, and I believe this car will soon be replaced by the Cobalt, but I know I cant a get an equivalent new car for this price!

2004 Cavalier - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
By Littlelady - April 10 - 2:00 amI just bought this vehicle a couple weeks ago. My Cavalier replaced a 1997 Geo Prism. I went for all the luxury available. I love it! Very comfortable and affordable for a car in its class!
