This Year's Model Updates:

Not much. An upgraded stereo with a CD and MP3 player is now available on the base coupe and sedan. The Sport Appearance package that includes 16-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and sport suspension is also available on the base coupe and sedan.

Pros:
  • Low price, torquey four-cylinder engine, optional satellite radio and OnStar.
Cons:
  • Ancient design inside and out, cheap interior materials, poor build quality, low resale value, poor side-impact and front-offset crash test results.

  • I hate it! - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

I absolutely hate that car. I purchased the car on impulse in 2004, with 4 miles on it. Within a week, the radio went out. I have to admit, for years it did do its justice, however, the car has always been uncomfortable. It has a hard feel to the seats and the interior is extremely cheap looking. There is nothing fancy or spectacular about the design. Now, the car overheats, the A/C doesnt work unless im pressing the accel., I seriously think the transmission is going bad, the trunk pops open when it wants to (yes, thankfully at stop lights). To top it all off, the paint is fading. I had a black car, now its black with huge metallic spots. Its a mess, its ugly. "Hated It"

Ive never had more problems with a car than this one. My Cavalier has had one thing go wrong after the other. Its never been abused, the oil has been changed every 3,000 miles and its not even driven that much. I only have one more year of payments, but Ive decided to trade it in for something other than a GM. Maybe I just got a lemon. For those who are about to buy one, beware. The Cavalier is a cheap car and its one of those things where you get what you pay for. I guess its back to imports for me.

the car stalls suddenly without warning while shifting, the spare tire is a joke, it blew out on a major highway, leaving me no choice but to have the car towed on a flatbed, the back seats are very narrow and hard. poor exceleration and loose gears

The vehicle is cramped inside and when My wife and I get out it seems like the shocks cant handle our weight and makes an awful sound. I took it back to dealer they fixed something but it still makes an awful sound when exiting. It simply is to small a vehicle.

We have had to have it in the shop too many times already for little things. We have not been happy with the fuel usage, we thought it would be better. The front console and controls are too close together nearly causing wrecks trying to adjust the heat/air/defrost with drinks in the way.We paid way too much for what we got.
