Overview & Reviews
New LS Sport trim level for coupes and sedans that features an all-new 2.2-liter EcoTec engine. A Z24 sedan joins the Z24 coupe at the top end of the lineup, while both the LS and base model Cavalier gain additional standard equipment and an optional Sport appearance package. Both Z24 models get an upgraded stereo and an optional Sport appearance package will be available later in the year. Three new colors have also been added along with an upgraded cloth interior.
- Affordably priced, new EcoTec four-cylinder engine, Z24 is a stylish and speedy low-buck sport coupe.
- You get what you pay for in terms of feature content, haphazard build quality, dreadfully uncomfortable seats.

2000 Cavalier is junk - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By KPoole - March 11 - 10:00 amAfter only 2 years, Already have major engine problems. Vehicle began overheating and cutting off when idle. Returned to dealship and mechanics believe new engine is needed. They claim I am responsible. The back seat is also coming out. This vehicle was a bad investment. I now have negative equity in this vehicle. It is absolutely worthless.

Way better then expected - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By Grizzly1 - December 9 - 10:00 amI first had a 1995 Ford Escort LX, then went to the 02 Z24. Ive had the car for about 7 months now. I love this car! Im getting the same fuel economy or better then the escort. This is WAAAY more reliable than the Ford. I had to take the my Ford to the shop way too many times to count. I have had no problems with the car. My only complaint are the interior is not as big as expected, but still plenty for me and 3 other people.

its a friday car - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By Angry man - September 21 - 10:00 amThe car has already had some problems after a week of owning it. I had paint bumps on the trunk that I need to get fixed they are willing to do this but they cant get me in until next week. The gears are really close together so I feel like I have to shift way to quickly, it wants me to go to fifth gear at about 32 mph. The preformace leaves something to be desired. I hope to add a K&N cold air system as soon as it comes out. Also the power window control pannel is comming out already.

nice little car - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By mike - September 20 - 2:00 amJust bought this car couple weeks ago. Got over $4000 off the MSRP with $2002 rebate and a huge GM card earnings. So far its been really nice to drive. The new 2.2 Ecotec engine is much better than the old 2.2 and 2.4 engines. Feels more powerful than most small car.
