Overview & Reviews
New LS Sport trim level for coupes and sedans that features an all-new 2.2-liter EcoTec engine. A Z24 sedan joins the Z24 coupe at the top end of the lineup, while both the LS and base model Cavalier gain additional standard equipment and an optional Sport appearance package. Both Z24 models get an upgraded stereo and an optional Sport appearance package will be available later in the year. Three new colors have also been added along with an upgraded cloth interior.
- Affordably priced, new EcoTec four-cylinder engine, Z24 is a stylish and speedy low-buck sport coupe.
- You get what you pay for in terms of feature content, haphazard build quality, dreadfully uncomfortable seats.

Decent Wheels - better than a lot - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By allen_hillsboro - August 3 - 2:00 amGreat Initial Price, Good Seats, Good Handling, Great Air conditioning, good stereo. Im pleased and will buy another when this one dies... I cant really think of one complaint. When you read the reviews of this car, you think it was terrible, but those people must be driving Mercedes normally or something...

cavalier is a nightmare - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By danielles fat - July 27 - 2:00 amcarv -a-lier horribly built car..no power.no quality.if u have it get rid of it before the warranty runs out..if it lasts that long.everything breaks.transmission rattles (charactaristic, not a defect)..rides like @#%$, For performance leave car at the dealer for warranty services

Overall good value - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By ultrabingo - July 16 - 2:00 amThe straight coupe with a manual transmission is fun to drive with rack and pinion steering, like a little sports car. Interior is cheaply make though. Lots of plastic and generic cloth. Overall a good value for the price.

180,000 miles & still going strong - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By verysatisfied - June 29 - 4:06 amneeded a car for commute of 110 mi rd trip. decided on 97 cavalier. bought in aug 97, have car 4 1/2 yrs, has all original parts (except for brakes & tires). car runs & performs today like it did when i drove out of the dealership, except for an a/c compresser which was replaced after 3 yrs. i do believe ive gotten my $s worth out of this car & being that i still do the same commute today, i could see me buying another cavalier when its time to replace this one.

Sporty and Quick - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By Red99bmwm3 - May 20 - 2:00 amI have had my Z24 for over a year now with no problems what so ever. Ive added a GM supercharger to the car and couldnt be happier. An extra 50 horsepower in these cars make them a lot more fun to drive.

Dont Buy a Cavalier - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By cgehlich - April 29 - 2:00 amI have had many problems with my Cavalier. This month alone, I have put over $700 into the car, not including my car payment or insurance. Granted, I drive the car a lot. But, many things continuously go wrong with it that shouldnt (Engine Light goes on, Emergency Brake dont always hold, there is a crack in the dashboard - no one ever since in the passenger seat, so I have no idea how this came out, etc.). Ive done everything to keep the car well-maintained, but nothing seems to be working.

Sporty and Fast - 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
By mytifyn45 - April 14 - 2:00 amI liked this car from the moment I saw it. I cant complain about the horsepower its quick. Great gas mileage at a time when gas prices are outrageous. Have had no recalls or repairs in 1 1/2 years. Sound system is great.
