I love this vehicle. So smooth, and rides like youre on clouds. The Bose stereo system is excellent. I cant believe Im doing 65 mph. It feels like it 25mph, thats how smooth it is. I love this vehicle. If I trade it in later on, it will be for another one.

  • Almost there...but still just a Chevy - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

Ive used every inch of this vehicle and it can handle any type of cargo. One of the best options for self employed construction, plumbing, etc. Z66 impressed early but as time goes on it needs far too much dealer work. Comes with almost anything you could need for short, mid, or long drives. Comfortable seats both front and rear but leather is very cheap and wears quickly. Stereo is well below the quality that should be expected for the price of this vehicle. Eats oil like nothing Ive ever driven. Gas mileage is horrible...and I was prepared for bad mpg, but not single digit bad. Tires become worn easily for some reason. Any truck is as good and 10K+ less with fewer overall hassle

First we thought about buying an Escalade, then we looked at both the Avalanche and the Escalade side by side. Not any difference in the profile. The front end was different as was the interior. For saving the extra money and being practical we went with the Avalance on a Smart buy. We have been on one trip (1200 miles) and this is a very comfortable and luxurious truck. We averaged 19 mpg on the trip, the power is very good along with the fuel economy. Six passengers are no problem. We took my daughters dog with us one way to leave with a friend, the back seat folded down, the rear bulkhead folded down and the kennel sat with the door open in the cargo area facing forward. Worked great

  • Better than a Caddy for less - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

The most complete vehicle I have owned in years. Will trade for a new one if this one ever dies. Engine does well above expectations. Interior is like sitting in my own private entertainment center.

  • Ok, but many problems - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

The truck is neat in its design, but this makes it very, very large. Performance is poor (sloppy brakes, sloppy steering, handling and acceleration). I had mine back to the dealer six times within the first 9 months at which point I sold it to buy a different brand. Great concept, but GM needs to do a lot of work on overall build quality, interior design quality and performance (needs a little sport).

A little pricy even on base models. Tow package should be installed on all models standard. A little taller than regular trucks is a plus.

I bought my Avalanche because I liked its looks. The power is definitly there when you need it and the comfort level is up with the best. I love the control I have when driving on the old dirt roads where I live. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who asks.

I bought the Avalanche used with 12,000 miles in excellent condition and have not been dissapointed a bit. It does not get great gas mileage but I have driven a sport utility in the past, and it is about the same. The comfort of the ride and the usefullness of the Avalanche has made me very satisfied.

  • A great concept - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

I have truly enjoyed this truck. I have owned Chevy 1500s and 2500s for years. I like the road feel of a Chevy. I think the interior is well conceived. I wasnt a fan of the plastic exterior in the beginning, but the look grew on me. Then GM offered the "Without Body Hardware" option. This removes the lower plastic panels. That did the trick for me.

  • Great Farm Truck - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

The Z71 has it all. Rubber floor mats. 4 wheel drive. Aluminum 17 in. wheels. 4-door. 5 seats. Large enough for a 4 wheeler or my 425 John Deere mower, yet it doesn’t look like a long school bus. The sun and sound package is great too. Power moon roof and Bose. Almost 300hp is great for the tow package. The OnStar and XM radio are nice to have too. The best part is the car-like ride that I dont normally get with our farm trucks.
