Traded a 1999 silverado on this vehicle. This vehicle can do all the silverado did plus the ride is far superior. It is fully loaded and has all the creature comforts that the Cadillac EXT has with exception of stabilitrak. All for $9000 less than the EXT

  • This is a great truck - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

The most comfotable truck I have had the pleasure of driving. With the power adjustable pedals my 52" wife finds the vehicle easy to drive and handle. When I first bought the truck she said she would not drive it. After riding in it for a few months I have a hard time getting it away from her. The cargo area is small but the cover is very easy to remove and the bed is dry. (even after 20" of snow). This is not a work truck but great for pulling a trailer and transporting a family. The 4 wheel drive options are nice. I used both automatic 4WD and full time 4WD druing our 20" snow storm. I went where ever I wanted. 14 mpg city about 17 mpg highway

  • Love it! - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

I have over 52,000 miles on my 2002 Z71 4x4 Avalanche, I also tow a 6,000 lb tralier on camping trips. Never have had a problem since Ive owned it, not even a burned out bulb. I change the oil & filter every 3,000 miles. Chevy got this one right! Best SUV/truck on the road, rides like my Town car. Off road is awesome too.

functionability, biggest trunk in the business, converts into a truck when needed & still has that soft car ride. comfort, mines loaded, a friend of mine has the H2 which has the same steering wheel controls, dash and stereo, door controls (seat heaters and foot adjustments) but you just dont sit at the same angle as the avalanche or suburban H2 more upright and stiff. In the nine monthes ive owned my 04 ive put 25k on it from the beach to the snow. "had the tranny replaced at 20k, warranty covered, bought extended 48 mon. 80k". Around town & local L.A. highways its like youre to only be in this urban cruiser, feeling safe due to size and able to see over traffic, AWSOME! & 14.3mpg avg.

  • Dont judge book by the cover - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

I had every intention of buying a 1500 silverado crew cab. However, I took the Avalanche for a test drive and immediately fell in love with its ride, power, comfort and most of all..."versatility". Im not the type of guy who will spend $4k on exterior mods for "others" to look at.....I deal strictly with functionality and reliability. The Avalanche not only fit the bill for everything I wanted in a truck......but it also gave me a "built- in" bedliner, a bedcover, extra storage and lots of other bonuses that most consumers end up spending lots on after they buy a new truck. This truck also has great brakes and plenty of power.

Ive had my truck for 3 months and it has been the best purchased vehicle Ive made thus far. It does not ride like a truck. It is very confortable to drive and ride in. I consider this to be one of my better investments.

  • Quit making it cheaper - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

GM keeps raising the price and removing quality from the interior. I have had a 2003, 2004 and now a 2005. In 04 they took the nice carpeting and replaced it with the flat cheap stuff they use now. For 05 they took away the nice chevy floor mats and put in cheap $5 Walmart specials and took away the double visors. For 05 they also changed the rear end options you cant get the 3.73 anymore you get either a 4.10 or 3.42. They also took away the nice dark charcoal seats leaving you with tan or light gray. Both will show the dirt. I pulled the nice mats out of my 04, even dirty they look better than the cheap 05s. Someone should slap their beancounters. Its a $40000 vehicle. Stop already!

Very good ride quality when compared to pickups - especially over rough surfaces. Hydroboost brakes big improvement over 03. I use this truck as a daily commuter and as a recreational vehicle for hunting, camping, etc... Interior refinement is required - maybe the next generation will put it on par. Overall, the most versatile SUV/pickup on the market.

  • Avalanche of show and might - 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche

Indeed a great show of power and looks. It is rugged yet with refined maneuverability and interior design. My wife finds the masculinity and yet get the utility one finds in a kitchen (table?)! I feel the thundering power when it revs up to 110/mph or humping mountains in NH. It is like an Abrams tank that every car in your path, that is in the fast lane, move to the right of the highway when you come to their tail. The gas mileage is awful though but still manageable compared to others of its class.
