Who woulda thought -- a Buick SUV? More accurately, the Rendezvous is one of a new breed of crossover vehicles that combines the look and utility of an SUV with the comfort of a touring car. The Rendezvous is based on the Pontiac Aztek, itself based on GM's minivan family consisting of the Chevrolet Venture, Pontiac Montana and Oldsmobile Silhouette.
- Available third-row seat that folds flush with the load floor, independent rear suspension, optional rear parking assist.
- Down on power compared to the competition, minimal off-road capability.

Never thought Id drive a Buick! - 2002 Buick Rendezvous
By mpeleaux - June 25 - 10:00 amSuffice it to say that I research every car decision I make. I was looking at little SUVs like the RAV4 and CRV, but wanted a 3rd seat. We didnt want to go the mini-van route, and most SUVs seem too big and truck-like. What to do? I saw a CNN-online article mid-April that mentioned the Rendezvous and I decided to check it out. I was completely won over by the perfect size, abundance of comfort features, nice styling, cargo/passenger flexibility and overall value. It (in my opinion) manages to be refined, cool, fun and useful all at the same time. Ive always hated automatics, but got used to this in a hurry and think it has plenty of power.

Sporty but sleek looking - 2002 Buick Rendezvous
By brandes - June 9 - 5:06 pmI have a lot of people say it looks like a sporty but sleek SUV. When I stop for a red light, some people give the thumbs up sign. Not the redundant SUVs you see on the road. You also get alot of extras for the money you spend.

By davr - June 1 - 2:00 amMy wife and I have been very happy with this car. No problems in 14,500 miles. The sounds system is great, and the seatings options really work (the third row is a blessing). Handles very well in snow - better than our old Grand Cherokee. Super inside space, with more thoughtful storage than any other car we have been in. It also doesnt look like every other SUV out there. We highly recommend this car.

Compared to a BMW X5, priced in the $60K range, the Rendezvous is the value of the year. The car has a unique look which seems to look better all the time.

By Rendezviewer - February 15 - 2:00 amAfter researching about everything comparable (Highlander, upcoming Honda Pilot, MDX, Trailblazer), we finally pulled the trigger on a Rendezvous. Most of my cars have been foreign cars and I was probably biased against GM, but the value on the RDV combined with the features and appearance made us purchasers. So far everything is perfect. The features combined with the convenience of a mini-van (seating for 6-7) with an SUV appearance were the key factors for us. Safety factors were also important.

By Craig - December 18 - 2:02 pmI had an audience, as I rolled my new 36" flat screen up to the back of my Buick. No one thought it was going in! We rolled the huge box, and slid it in, ALL the way, and closed the hatch! Try that with ANY SUV this nice, priced under $28K brand new. It wont happen. - The sight lines, the great engine performance, and 22.5 MPG for the first 50K that weve driven it, are unmatched with anuthing else weve looked at. - We were the first ones in our town to own one, now there are HUNDREDS! The fact that SO MANY other SUVs came out with room for 7, AFTER they saw how these sold, tells you a lot.

By Nancy S - October 7 - 2:00 amI have been driving this car for over 2 years: highway and city. It is fun to drive and I have had no mechanical problems with it. I love all the fun stuff on it like the rear parking aid and the window display. Even the third row seats are very comfortable.It has plenty of room to store your stuff: the double decker console is huge as are the compartments. It has all the power I need (I even tow a trailer) however the hesitation and strain are annoying. A bigger engine would be nice.
