This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

  • Ultimate Drive - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I purchased a fully loaded 330xi with the sport package in 2006. It is a blast to drive! Ive topped out at 130mph and it felt like normal highway speed...quiet and smooth. High speed turns and winding roads are a blast. This car loves to race and is extremely comfortable at all speeds. Yes, you will feel the road, thats why its a sports car...thats why it is fun! If you want a softer ride, do not get the sport package. It is made to be driven and I hit 100mph+ whenever I can on an open stretch of highway. Four years of trouble free ownership thus far. Only problem was the electronic steering wheel lock which was fixed quickly under warranty. BMW is the best car Ive ever owned.

This is by far the best car I have ever owned! Pure fun to drive, power when I need it and safety all around. Would I buy another? You bet I would!

Bought my 2006 330ci certified from a NJ dealership. My first attempt on a certified vehicle. So far car has been great and literally did look almost new upon my purchase. Great blend of sportiness, luxury and fuel efficiency. Cant ask for much more for a sporty vehicle.

  • My favorite car - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Im a certified car nut having owned probably 25 cars over the past 30 years and this is my favorite car hands down. Ive owned faster cars and more luxurious cars but none as enjoyable to drive as my 325xi. My other car is a 99 Corvette and I can tell you I would feel much more confidant driving my BMW at 150 any day of the week. The Vette feels like a rattle trap compared to the BMW and the silky smoothness of the engine and drivetrain is amazing. My cars got 47,000 miles on it but is tighter and smoother than the brand new 2008 Chevy Malibu it replaced.

  • Fun Car! - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Ok I get to drive and own a lot of cars but must say the 325i is fun! Cant believe it but I avg 24 mpg, yes, this is in Fl, it has a gauge and pretty much don’t go under 22 nor over 24 around town and hwy, I know if this was the sport ed or a 330i it would have been a 10 down the line but its not and will give an overall rating of 9

  • Excellent, highly refined sports sedan. - 2006 BMW 3-Series

This BMW is faster than most cars (got the 6 speed), excellent acceleration. I drove a 7 series before this, so the Sport Package and short wheelbase on the 3 ride pretty rough for my taste. The car feels like its glued to the road though. Stunning looks, very fun, Bluetooth is awesome,Sport seats too, Stock base stereo jams.

  • no regrets! - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I have owned the car for about a month now and I love driving it around! The sound system is great even though mine only has 10 speakers. Acceleration does lag a bit since mine is automatic trans. but overall I am satisfied with the performance. The exterior would look better if the headlight didnt have the yellow stripe (like the european version).

  • The best yet - 2006 BMW 3-Series

After owning 3 3-series I thought of changing. I test drove the Lexus IS350, Audi A4 and Infiniti G35. The Lexus is faster than the BMW, but none of them compared to the total driving experience of a bimmer. I purchased a 330i and this is the best 3 series yet. Performance, handling and braking are superb. The car is loaded with safety features and I am getting a suprisingly 30+ mpg on the highway.

  • one year update - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I still love the car the same as the day I bought it! It is fun to drive. It runs even better now than when it was new, but it is still very tight. I had absolutely no issues with the vehicle. I average about 25 MPG, 90% city driving (not too rough, but some sports driving). The tires still look good with 7500 miles on them, Id expect at least 25k miles out of them. I like the transmission, but it takes some getting used to. One thing to note is that the BMW recommends the oil change every 15k miles, but my computer has come down from 15k to 14, 13 and now it is at 12k. The AC is powerful, and quickly cools it down. The radio/CD is great for the standard one. Perfect brakes.

  • The Reference Car - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Driving BMW is as if you own the road. So far, I have been in full control of the car under all conditions, including on snowy and icy roads. The highway mileage is beyod expectation. In short, the car is a joy to drive.
