The Cabriolet is now available with all-wheel drive, while all A4s now come standard with a tire-pressure monitoring system, revised steering wheels and two-stage airbags. The 1.8T models have been upgraded with 16-inch aluminum wheels and now offer a six-speed manual transmission as an option.

- Price goes up quickly with options, engines short on low-end torque, sport package makes for a choppy ride.

Great Ride - 2004 Audi A4
By ClrkBent - May 28 - 10:00 amThe A4 is overall is a great choice. You dont have a choice though, with the A4, of going Quattro, unless you do the 3.0. It just takes too much power away from the front where you need the performance. Perfect ride. I highly recommend the 1.8 CVT. Its a smooth, smooth ride. You really begin to realize how annoying gear changes are in other automatics when you get out of the Audi and into other cars.

attn: door slammers - 2004 Audi A4
By mortimer - May 16 - 2:00 amGreat car love the handling. Its fun to take a 40-50 mph turn on a city block without fishtailing. Only bad comment, you have to keep reminding friends to close the doors gently. The doors are light and close with little effort. So people tend to always slam them..followed by "sorry"

2004 1.8T 6M Quattro Ultrasport - 2004 Audi A4
By Skipnatl - May 16 - 2:00 amBought the Ultrasport as it was a knock- out sitting on the showroom floor. The visual difference between the Ultra and the stock car is so vast, the additional dollars dont seem to matter. You know youve got a great looking car when valets comment on it and people ask about it at the car wash. The car is a hoot to drive, and is very responsive. The Quattro system, while adding weight, certainly picks up the slack in curves or slick roads. Audi could kick up the HP and I wouldnt mind, in fact, that is all I would ask for at this point, 20 or 30 more horses. The engine itself is great fun, with more personality than the 3.0. I love this car.

A4 is a great car all around - 2004 Audi A4
By paco25 - January 7 - 2:00 amAn excellent car. The only thing I would change would be to upgrade from a 1.8T to a 3.0

WOW!!! - 2004 Audi A4
By OneOldKid - January 7 - 2:00 amI love my new car! I attended the Portland Auto Show today and didnt find one car that I would rather have. I test drove the BMW 325i and MB 230K Sedan. I like my Audi better than both. It is very comfortable and fun to drive. It is a perfect blend between comfort and performance. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a car in this class!

Turbo Lag - 2004 Audi A4
By a4 - January 3 - 10:56 pmTurbo lag, turbo lag, turbo lag The problems I have had with this car start with the fuel pump humming noise. The dealer replaced it twice. As of now no more noise. AC turns off when it feels like it. I live in florida & it get hot here so AC is a must but the A4 AC seems to have a mind of its own. I had a 1996 A4 with the same problem. Now to my biggest complaint. The 1.8ts turbo lag. Say you are in the middle of the intersection waiting for an opening. In the Audi dont even think about creeping in. You better have a big opening by the time you step on the gas and the car reacts its too late.

Id buy it again - 2004 Audi A4
By Gadumah - December 13 - 3:55 pmI took ownership of this car almost three years ago and its been trouble free the whole time. I love everything from the design to performance. Even though I have the 3.0 model I wish it had a little more power. Other than that its almost perfect!
