Team Toyota of Princeton is the epitome of poor customer service. Sales staff seem to find no issue with taking a deposit on a vehicle order they have no intent of fulfilling, and accountability + follow-up communication is non-existent. I came in the first week of January 2017 to order a TRD Pro 4Runner. Looking back, I should have done more research to find out just how much of a “unicorn†that specific vehicle is. However, when I walked into Team Toyota, the salesperson was more than happy to take a deposit and put in an “order†for the vehicle and tell me I’d have the vehicle in 6-8 weeks. Between the inventory staff and sales staff, no one thought to level-set my expectations with the fact that I may not get the vehicle since production is limited and allocations are dealer-specific. After 8 weeks, I called to get an update and was told “we don’t have any information now, I’ll let you know when I knowâ€. 8 weeks soon became 12 weeks, and then I was calling in every 3 weeks or so. By July, I was tired of getting a different answer from a different staff member every time I called, so I visited the dealership. I had been doing more research and realized too late that I was likely not getting the vehicle I had placed a deposit on. Throughout the 6-7 months I waited for my ordered vehicle to come in, at no point did anyone from Team proactively reach out to give me an update or level-set my expectations that the vehicle wouldn’t come in. When confronted with facts that supported the theory that I likely wasn’t going to get my vehicle, the response from Team was: “would you like to buy another one of our cars or place an order for a 2018 TRD PRO?â€. At this point, I was so appalled with Team’s service that I called the national Toyota hotline. After some run-around, I finally got a hold of the regional manager who was equally disappointed by the dealership’s behavior, and she got me in touch with a different dealership that actually treats its customers like people instead of dollar signs and the silver lining of this whole situation is that I found a decent dealership with great staff and service (NOT Team Toyota).

I purchased a Toyota Prius Prime today, and it was by far the most pleasant car buying experience Ive ever had so far. I dealed with Roger Jespersen, who is the Internet Sales/Lease consultant, who ended up being my salesman; usually I get acquainted with internet sales first as a liaison online, and then get assigned a "floor" salesperson, but today I had the good fortune of working solely with Roger. It was a pleasant experience working with him, from the initial online price quote to the final sales price and trade-in process and most importantly the test drive. He was very informative and knowledgeable with Prius vehicles, so it was a real treat listening to the informative words of wisdom from him. When it came time for the finance portion of the process, there was no pressure whatsoever, but I was convinced with purchasing a Pre-paid maintenance plan because it sounded like a good deal (plus with the money that I saved, I thought it was okay for me to splurge a little!). In and out in just about 3 1/2 hours, which wasnt too bad. I would recommend coming back for a future purchase, provided that Mr. Jespersen will be there again to be my salesperson!

I bought 2 cars from them 10 and 4 years ago, and I stopped using their repair shop several years ago because they were so bad. But I figured I could still buy a car from them if the price was right. WRONG! I couldnt even get a price from them. I couldnt get a call back. I talked to the manager and couldnt get a price. I filled out a Costco buying application and still didnt get a call. Heres the kicker - I have three cars that all have over 100,000 miles so Im in the market for 3 cars in the next 12 months and this dealer wont tell me the price! My advice to you...run screaming.
