"Honest Dealership"
This dealership was honest and up front with me. I was interested in a truck. I sent a email about it, they responded very quickly and seemed interested in assisting. Before I got to the dealer the truck was sold. No problem with that. Someone got their first. What I liked is the dealer let me know before making a 80 mile drive the truck was gone. I recommend this place.
"Sterling Bmw Do Not Go Here"
Do not take your car in here for service and based on their reviews, and my experience below. Search Yelp and Google for the complaints. I wouldnt purchase a car here either. There is a much better dealership right up the freeway (crevier bmw.) Sterling BMW IS A NO GO! Their reviews are so horrible for sales and service its a wonder theyre still in business. CREVIER BMW is a few miles up the 55. And has a much higher quality experience. I took my 2015 BMW Z4 in on Nov 10th to have the tires checked and look for oil leaks. The vehicle has been having the TPM (tire pressure monitor) light go off once every week or two for a few months. The oil level light consistently comes on as well. I remedy the issue by adding a little more air to each tire and adding oil as I go. Recently, the car started needing more oil and more air that makes me think the problem is more serious and deserves a look by a more qualified tech. On Nov 10th the tech looks at the vehicle, we inspected the tires for nails by looking at the car while someone drove it fwd(none found,) reset the tires to proper pressures as I had them 4 and 6lbs over inflated. They inform me nothing is wrong with the tires. The oil they say to bring it back when the oil light comes on but turbo vehicles burn oil. I know turbo vehicles burn oil, but the rate on this is fairly higher than what I am used to. I know how to maintain proper oil levels in turbo and N/A vehicles. I went back to my shop and rechecked the tires. I did find a nail in the right rear tire. On Nov 11, the right rear TPM sensor goes off and says that its low. I drove the car into Stering at 9am and asked the service advisor (AJ or Anthony Gennock,) to check all the tires. The sensor has been going off for a few months for ALL tires. He requests to leave the car the entire day. I inform him that the tech I spoke to said an hour or so at most. AJ changes the time to 1.5hrs. I get a call 1hr40min later stating that the front right tire has a nail in it and the right rear has a puncture. The front right will be covered by warranty, but the rear right has 2/32 of thread left and will not be covered by warranty for excessive ware. I explain to check all the tires as the light has been going off for some time now. The service advisor explains that they want to make as much money off the vehicle as possible and will have the technician look at the car again. This was a somewhat tense conversation as I know there are issues with the tires, but sterling advisor AJ is babbling about this or that and not understanding what Ive explained about the tires. I have friends in the industry and explain to check the rims as Ive heard the aluminum rims have tendencies to bend from pot holes and railroad tracks. They call back 1hr 45min later and explain that the front right tire is replaced (under warranty) and the rear tires both have punctures/nails causing a slow leak. They did not catch this the first time around. They state the tires are at 2/32nds and arent covered under the warranty I purchased with the vehicle. AJ informs me to take It up with BMW wheel and tire company who approves and disapproves replacements. After calling these guys informed they have an approved claim for the front right. But the right rears arent covered because my contract states they have to be 2.1mm/32nds. I inform them that they both do have 2/32nds and my contract states 2/32 is the minimum (NOT 2.1.) after 5-10min of back and forth they pull up original signed contract and do confirm 2/32nds as listed, not 2.1 as the rep stated. HERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE: The rep informs me that AJ called this morning and stated the rears have 0/32 tread left, not 2/32nds as we discussed and I confirmed yesterday. I immediately call AJ who changes his story now stating that they do not have X amount of tread left. I inform him I am coming down with a tire gauge to measure the tire tread and take pictures as I already checked them and they sho
"Excellent Remote Buying Experience"
This review is for sales. I live in Northern California but found a car that was optioned the way that I wanted at Sterling. I started an online chat and reached Joseph, the internet sales manager. He was an exceptional sales person throughout the entire experience. We quickly got to a very good price with no pressure or haggling and he walked me through all of my lease options. I really appreciated that as it was my first lease. Joseph was very responsive to all of my questions and requests and never hesitated to provide excellent service. He arranged for transport of my car and even came in early to personally ensure everything went smoothly. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Awesome experience
"Fantastic Sales Experience And Service From Tina!"
I cant say enough good things about Tina Swistak at Sterling BMW. I just picked up my BMW in Munich through European Delivery and Tinas service from start to finish was flawless. Tina made the shopping, negotiating, and order/delivery process incredibly pleasant and easy while being extremely competitive with pricing. This is my third BMW from Tina and I have referred several friends and family to her. In fact, I had a close friend of mine join me when I went to sign my paperwork who ended up purchasing a car that day from Tina as well! If you value your time and money, contact Tina and see what she can do for you. I think youll be pleasantly surprised! A big kudos and THANK YOU to Tina!
"Great Service"
A.J. Is the best! Great service and communication along the entire process. Was able to help fit me in quickly. With a loaner car and got my car back to me before the holiday weekend! Excellent service all around.
"A+ Dealership!"
I was in and out the door in about 90 minutes with my new vehicles. My salesperson Joseph was A+ from start to finish. From my initial inquiry via phone about a vehicle in their inventory through the customer service follow-ups after my purchase. Great job by all at this dealership!
"Greatthanks To Mike Walters And Ben :)"
I and my husband bought a certified pre-owned BMW from Sterling today. Honestly, great experience with Mike Walters. We dont have enough words to express our gratitude to him for making our choice the best . We would like to mention Ben too, who was the person whom we contacted first and he sincerely helped us to get the best deal. Excellent customer service. Thanks to both once again :)
"Great Cpo Experience."
04-01-2015
4 1/2 years ago I purchase a new car from a local Orange County BMW dealership. The car had problems. I ended up having to contact BMW USA to get the problems addressed, as the dealership kept making excuses as to why the problems existed and wouldnt address them. Fast forward to March 2015. I just purchased a car from Sterling BMW in Newport Beach. The sale experience was good, but after having the car for a few days, I realized it had a couple of cosmetic problems. Now, this was a CPO, so it is a used car. But I wanted a perfect car. I assumed my experience would be similar to my last. But I was totally wrong. When I pointed out the problems to my salesman, Ben Keller, and the pre-owned manager, Mike Reed, they immediately setup appointments to have my concerns addressed. The result is a like-new car at a pre-owned price. I couldnt be happier. Thank you Sterling BMW, and particularly Ben Keller and Mike Reed.
"Thanks To Mike Walters.....man Of His Words!!"
04-01-2015
Thanks to Mike Walters who made it possible for me to buy pre-owned certified BMW of my choice. I lost a similar BMW in a massive car accident that also had a unique color combination and features and wanted to replace that car by this one. I explained that to both Mike Walters and Mike Reade and told them to wait until I hear back from my insurance so that I can move forward with a purchase. They stayed in a constant communication during this process. We agreed on the pricing on the phone and when I travelled from San Diego to make this purchase, they made sure that this car is not gone. Everything went smooth from the purchase point of view. Thanks to Mike Walters and Mike Reade (whom I couldnt meet) for keeping their words for getting me this car. Overall, I am very happy with Mike Walters professionalism and way this transaction was done!
"Valuable ///m Knowledge & Experience"
04-01-2015
By far one of the greatest customer service salespersons I have ever dealt with was with Olin Johnston. I came by the Newport Dealership because I was visiting in the area and was very interested in purchasing a BMW ///M3 sedan. I currently own another M3 and was deciding on upgrading to a newer model. Olins expertise and knowledge has earned my future business and purchase. I know I will be purchasing my next vehicle at this dealership when I am ready. I am absolutely certain and confident that Olins knowledge on the other vehicles that are not the ///M brand is superior as well.
"Buying A Pre-owned At Sterling Bmw"
04-01-2015
Drove from Van Nuys to help a client buy a pre-owned which happened to be a Mercedes Benz CLK350 which was immaculate. From the first contact thru the internet department to our treatment in the finance office everything was fantastic. What they said, they did! It was a very pleasant transaction and I highly recommend them for a vehicle purchase.
"Excellent Experience, Outstanding Sales Guy."
12-01-2014
I buy an average of 8-9 new cars a year, mostly luxury and exotics, so I am used to a very easy experience and an exceptionally high level of customer service. Last week my wife expressed that shed like a 7-series BMW as her daily driver, and was looking for a fully loaded one in a very specific color combination that was hard to find. After doing some extensive research, we found out that Sterling BMW had the exact car we were looking for. The only problem was that we live about 100 miles away, and we had a difficult trade with a lot of negative equity, so I was reluctant to drive down there without a deal in place. Luckily, I emailed them and started negotiating a deal with Anthony Tran, who may very well be the nicest car salesman youll ever meet. Through his excellent communication skills, he was able to package a very favorable deal via email, give us top dollar for our trade, keep the lease payment where I wanted it, and even install custom wheels for us on the spot once we got there. Both me and my wife could not be happier about the overall experience, and the car is simply fantastic. I wholeheartedly recommend Sterling BMW to anybody in the market for a new vehicle, and even though the entire staff is extremely competent and very pleasant, I strongly suggest asking for the outstanding Anthony.
"Bobby Chis Gave Me The Best Lease Deal."
11-10-2014
Bobby Chis at Sterling BMW gave me the best deal and the best service hands-down of any BMW dealer in SoCal. I was in search for the best deal and thats exactly what I got. From my first phone call to the dealership, Bobby gave me the best price of any other dealer. He actually quoted me the best price on both the 528 and 535. Other dealers wouldnt even match it, telling me I should question the quote and it wouldnt be that good when I arrived. I showed up at Sterling this past weekend and Bobby had the car ready and waiting for me, at the exact price he quoted me. No games. The overall process was quick and easy. And the best part, I love my new car! :) Bobby even personally delivered my previous car back to my house so I could leave the dealership enjoying my new car. If youre looking for a lease, you must check with him!
"Great New Car Sales Experience"
11-10-2014
We can only address the new car sales department, as we bought a new car from Sterling last week. We have no experience with Sterlings used car sales department or service department, so we will not address those. My wife and I bought a new Z4 at a substantial discount. We were delighted with the overall experience. Following our initial visit, our sales rep, Phyllis, stayed in touch with us by phone and email. Our finance rep, Candice, secured 1.99% financing. Phyllis and Candice were both super efficient, making the paperwork quick and painless. Additionally, they were a pleasure to work with.

"Satisfied Customer"
08-14-2014
We have owned or leased 11 BMWs over the years and have had all of them serviced at Sterling BMW. We have always been treated with courtesy and respect by the entire service staff, especially our outstanding Service Advisor Kristie Endicott. Kristie is not only friendly, but extremely knowledgable regarding our service needs. We will continue to utilize Sterling BMW in the future.
"Hihgly Recommended And Heres Why:"
08-14-2014
Ive been in the automotive industry for more than 30 years. Ive worked mostly in marketing, but have an engineering background, and have bought/sold more than 40 cars in my life. That aside, I get paid to visit dealerships and provide training, conduct audits, or to demo cars to salespeople. In fact, since 2007, Ive visited more than 400 dealerships, including many BMW facilities. Ive inspected/reviewed Audi, Lexus, Benz, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, Ford, Dodge and Acura dealerships throughout the county. Maybe youll agree that I speak from experience and hopefully, youll allow me to put a different perspective into view. First off, Ive never been paid do to an audit of any kind at Sterling. I just chose to have my own personal vehicle serviced there because my Service Tech is also a car nut. Ive seen his name on online automotive enthusiast forums, and when I posted about a problem I was having with my car, he chimed in and offered to give advice. When I reached out to him, he successfully diagnosed a problem and invited me to bring my car in. That was the first time I ever met him, now more than a year ago. If youve been on Yelp, youll notice something about nearly all car dealerships: people write lousy reviews about the service departments. Why? Because most people dont understand that highline vehicles can be pricey to repair when something goes wrong. Still others think the Service Advisor is trying to jack up the bill. And while Im sure there are some unscrupulous SAs in the world, my strategy has always been to 1) do my research on problems common to my vehicle and 2) build a relationship with my SA and my Tech, no matter what car I own. Im sure weve all heard about bad dealership experiences, right? Usually, its about price. Let me elaborate. Many independent BMW techs might charge a cheaper labor rate, but they dont have the right tools to do many jobs. BMWs ISID system (the computer to diagnose your car) is about $25,000. A mom and pop mechanic won;t have that, which means your "cheaper" mechanic will cost your more as he throws parts at your car on your dime because he cant figure out whats wrong. Been there, done that. Now I know better. I rely on my guys at Sterling, Tech Mike R. and Service Advisor Josh. Repairs on my 2007 & series can get pricey quickly if I let preventative maintenance go. Josh is great at pointing out what needs to be fixed now, and what can wait till later. They fight for me to get repairs covered on CPO terms and when possible, show me how I could group repairs to save money: i.e. change a fan belt while changing a water pump. With all that said, remember that BMWs are complicated vehicles. Battery care is critical, as a depleted battery can cause all sorts of problems with other items. This is why many batteries are $300-$500. Beyond that, remember that each BMW model has its own quirks, like early 335s that had secondary fuel pump issues. Out of warranty, its about a $900 job. My Tech has seen it all and he can almost predict when a part is due to fail. My Service Advisor has a good idea too, and hes they guy that maps out what other items need to be done at the same time. Together, my team goes the extra mile for me. Why? Because I took the time to get to know them and to develop a mutual respect and trust. And speaking from experience, I can tell you that not every dealer in the country has service team members that believe in relationship building like Sterling does. So, for their efforts and professionalism, I give them top honors. For others reading this, consider building a relationship with the Service professionals at Sterling.
"Olin Johnston Is Great To Work With"
08-14-2014
I recently took delivery of a 2015 M235i at Sterling and worked with Olin Johnston. The experience was fantastic and Olin very adeptly guided me through the process of ordering my car, production, tracking, and delivery. I was treated very well and had all of my questions answered in a timely manner. One of the nice things about working with Olin is that he is a BMW enthusiast himself, so he understands the excitement surrounding the purchase a new BMW. He also has a great deal of technical knowledge with respect to BMW which was very refreshing - nothing sinks a deal faster than a salesman who doesnt know what they are selling. if you are an enthusiast looking to make a custom order, Olin is the guy to talk to.
"Superior Service Buying Our Car."
06-02-2014
We bought a 2013 750i from Ben Keller. He was very professional, a great guy and salesman. I hate the long process of buying a car and every thing was great, from beginning to end. Thanks Ben. Then we went to finance, another great experience with Pablo Hojberg. We were in and out in 35 to 40 minutes. Thank you Pablo. Before leaving we had a question regarding setting up something in the car, and Olin Johnstson came to our rescue. Thanks for you help Olin. Our overall experience was wonderful. Yes I would buy another car from Sterling BMW.
"Excellent - Highly Recommend"
05-19-2014
I have nothing but good things to say about Sterling BMW. The overall experience and facilities were great. But, I would like to acknowledge the person that made the experience such a pleasant one. Stephan Caraway, the Internet Sales Manager greeted me as I walked through the door. Throughout the process of negotiating and closing the deal, Stephan was patient, thorough, professional and treated me with respect. As a single woman buying a car, I had already walked out of 2 different dealerships (Jeep & BMW) because I felt like I was being treated like a "dumb girl" that they could take advantage of. Not so with Stephan. In fact, this was the second dealer Id been to that day, and the 4th that month. I was tired and grumpy but knew what I wanted and what I was willing to pay. Stephan applied absolutely no pressure and we had the negotiations over in about 10 minutes. As I was waiting for the car and paperwork to be prepared, he spent quite a bit of time going over everything and making sure I understood how this car worked. Sterling was a great place to buy my first new car in 6 years and Stephan made it an awesome experience. Go see Stephan if you are in the market for a vehicle from Sterling BMW. I know I will be back to see him someday!
"Great Experience"

Great experience, Clint Harris is a professional beyond belief, knows his poduct, understands how important our time was and handled everything for us with no hiccups. We will continue to purchase our BMWs from Sterling and of course from Clint.
"Great Experience In Purchasing My Car..."
04-08-2014
I saw an x3 online and called about it. I expressed my desire to purchase the car since I had already decided that is the type of car I wanted. I live 2 hours away and wanted to make sure they would HOLD the car for me. I have had other dealers tell me they would HOLD a certain car for me and then once I get there I find out it was sold. So I wanted to make sure IF I took this drive I would be able to see and drive and most likely purchase this car. The sales staff at Sterling BMW was very nice and said that they would for sure HOLD the car. I went and was met by the most amazing wonderfully patient salesman, John Van Vliet... He was so wonderful and accommodating. Long story short. I bought the car. The overall experience was painless and professional and I would and will recommend Sterling BMW to anyone that asks. I can not say enough great things about John and my experience in buying my CPO X3. Thank you so much!! Liz G
"Long Response Time From This Salesman/dealership"
I was contacted a week to 10 days after I sent in the inquiry! - had already went to another dealer & purchased a vehicle - this dealer is probally real good with BMWs, but other makes?
"Highly Recommended"
My wife and I visited Sterling BWM and were greeted by John Van Vliet as soon as we walked on the lot. We told him what we were looking for and he showed us 3 cars that met our wants and needs. Before talking price, he went through all of the features of the car to make sure we were comfortable with what we were purchasing. When we did talk price the process was painless and I felt we were treated fairly. After we got home with the car we found an issue. We discussed this with John and his manager Bob Wilson. The resolution to the problem was quick and spot on - I was especially impresssed when Bob told us he just wanted to be sure we were happy with our purchase. Overall an excellent dealer who I would not hesitate to recommend.
"Really Bad Customer Service"
02-12-2013
I went to pre-owned and Robert tried to help me but he was really scabies. His big mistake that he test drive me a car which s sold :(( Can you believe that? It s unbeliavable. I do not want to tell another mistakesss..
"Awesome Customer Service"
My husband and I just bought our third car from Sterling BMW! Van Simmons is the best and always puts customer service first. The process of buying a car was even better this time around and we are so happy with our car. I would definitely recommend Sterling BMW and Van Simmons to my friends and family.
"Great Experience - Out Of State Purchase"
I bought a pre-owned but like-new 2008 BMW from Sterling after shopping online for sometime. The cars condition was exceptional, and better than it was described/shown on their website photos. I flew in to complete the purchase after agreed to a price by phone in advance, and drove the car 1100 miles home. Van was super knowledgable, helped me step thru the purchase process and took great care to show me the car and handle the airport logistics. The overall experience has been nothing but exceptionally positive and Im very happy working with their team. Van also made it possible for me to drive the car home as I was a bit apprehensive about the whole shipping process. Id highly recommend Sterling BMW to all my friends!
"Great Service, Great Car?."
Bought a used BMW 650i from Sterling and was a very thorough buyer. Steve Turner was very accommodating and patient with my process which included putting the car on a rack for inspection. Twice. The buying process was great and I recommend both Sterling BMW and My client advisor (Steve T.).
"Excellent Customer Service"
I was helped by a grate sales agent Steve Turner he delivered an excellent customer service experience. He made the difference and and because of him I bout my car at sterling BMW. Alejandro Garcia.
"Great Experience, Great Customer Service!!"
I drove 300 miles to see a car at this dealership. What a way to end that trip with great service and driving away in a Bimmer!! I traveled to Stevens creek, Weber, and Bakersfield BMW. No where did I feel more comfortable than at Sterling. This was the furthest dealership and ultimately bought car there. I had a great experience and definately recommend Sterling to anyone looking to drive away in a first class Bimmer!!!

"Overall Bad Experience "
The sales manager Lynn Wilikrson was very rude and unprofessional. We ordered a new BMW and it came in early and the deal changed. When I spoke to the sales manager about the matter he was very rude. I have never been treated so poorly by someone working in a customer service position. After five minutes of speaking with him i wanted to cancel my order. I regret doing any business with this dealership. Love the car..... overall bad experience.
"Bmw Z4"
I puchased a certified 2008 Z4. I e mailed & spoke with the dealer 3-4 times in the past month in reguard to equiptment, price, warranty, etc. There were two specific items asked about prior to price negotiation (one keyless entry the other universal garage door opener). I was told it had remote entry on the key phobe and did have universal garage door opener after talking to the sales manager Mike Reed (who confirmed it after asking someone else). I also, requested a copy of the origal sticker, but was sent a dealer coded list no one could understand. We agreed upon price then drove 360 miles to pick up the car & had to return in two cars. After getting there we found the car didnt have (euiptment as promised) the universal garage door opener wasnt there, as told. The dealer didt offer any compensation towards getting it installed. We purchased the car anyways, but I was tiked off & felt the dealer should have offered to install it. The rest of deal went smoothly and everybody was really pleasant. It is a shame this happened, leaving a bad taste in my mouth in reguard to this dealership. Also, this the third car I pucased thru Cars.com. The last one the dealer installed 6 items on the car to consumate the deal.
"Love My 650i"
Just purchased my first BMW and had a great experience at Sterling! Steve Army made the sales process easy and I got a great car for the price.
"Customers Last"
02-24-2012
We have bought five cars from this dealership. Guess were slow learners! Convenient location, so we tend to go there first. The last three purchases, within four years, have been a slow painful process even though there was no loan applications involved. Always treated like someone who walked in off the street. Called last month to inquire about purchasing an x6, no one returned the call!!! Business must be good! Asked for an x6 loaner, with the intent to purchase, when 750 computer crashed and was told no. Poor business decision. Still looking for x6 but will purchase it somewhere else!
"Pretty Sad Experience"
Bought a 2011 328i convertible from Sterling BMW in late October, 2011. On my way back got flat tire warning. Checked all tires, pressures seemed OK, there was a faulty sensor. Then also noticed a defective door seal on the drivers side (the glass was pinching it). This car was sitting on the dealers lot for months and the dealer didnt offer me PDI (I wasnt very keen either, this being my 3rd BMW, never had any problem like this before). Took the car back to the dealership next day, they didnt even provide me a BMW loaner, instead got a beaten down VW Jetta from Enterprise. Finally got my car back after 3 full days. The dealer this time detailed the car again and filled up the gas.
