Bought R 32 and Taureg from Compass for girlfriends over the years with cash. Looking for deal on Golf R but no concession. Therefore no loyalty to that dealer. Repair of rattle on Taureg took two tries but fixed. Selection usually not as good as a larger VW dealer. Years ago, could not test drive an R 32 before signing for it. More a VW stupidity than a dealer issue. But manager was not polite about it. Went out and bought a Mitsu Evo instead and never looked back. They lost a sale because I could not test drive car before signing that i would purchase it. Something about no miles on R 32 demo. VW has some bizarre policies not to mention the diesel fraud. Think that was under old ownership.

Was in a bind. Mr Traverso went above call of duty to assist. Needed a key to unlock wheel to change flat tire for my nephew. Couldnt find one anywhere except to order online. I stopped in the VW dealer in Middletown NY, spoke with Mr Traverso who was kind enough to trust me and let me borrow the key I needed. I offered to rent it or buy it and he declined stating he just needed it back. Thank you for your excellent customer service. Much appreciated.

We bought over the years 3 cars from Compass. Their service is outstanding. Even though we live in Baltimore we go back to Compass. Last service visit was on 5/31/16. We got an appointment on 24 hour notice. In Baltimore we called a dealer 3 times left word but no one called back. Finally we were able to get a live person who told us the earliest available date was in 3 weeks. Compass sent a confirming message and even followed up with a telephone call. The service adviser thoroughly explained the service work and suggested when to do future work. The car went in with one of the tire valve cover missing. When I got it back a new one had been put on. I shopped for 4 different makes/models of small SUVs, both by lots of reading and by test driving all of them. I really liked the Mazda CX-5 that I ended up buying. Undoubtedly, my reaction to the car was reinforced by the fact that I also liked the salesperson, Justin, and the finance person, Richard. Both of them made me feel comfortable, answered my many questions, and gave me tons of information without making me feel pressured. All in all, a very positive experience.

I had purchased a pre-owned 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan and brought it in for its 90k scheduled maintenance. Jeff and the entire team at Compass Motors exceeded my expectations regarding customer service. I left a happy customer, and definitely think it is worth the couple extra dollars that you pay bringing it to the dealership when service is needed. They go out of there way to do anything they can to accommodate you, and you do not get that at many generic car repair shops.

I purchased a 2016 Mazda CX-5. I was very happy with my salesperson Jeff. He was personable, helpful, knowledgeable about the vehicle and treated me with respect. I made it clear what my purchase parameters were and he respected that and there was none of that "Ill have to check with my manager" back and forth nonsense that makes everyone hate car dealers!! I made it clear I had an online price from another dealer but that I would prefer to do business locally. I asked for his best price and he gave it to me and it beat the other place, hence my decision to purchase from Compass. I was also pleased with the whole financing process and the speed with which my car was made ready. As a side note, I stopped back the next day because something was not working properly (I thought!)and Jeff wasnt there but another salesman very graciously helped me figure it out and did not make me feel like a moron when he explained what the problem was!! Definitely an overall positive shopping and purchase experience.

I brought in my 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 for a new clutch install. My stock clutch was fine, but I wanted to upgrade it as I like to take a good thing and make it better. Dan and Gordy were great through the entire process and very fair with the cost. Communication there is top notch! We had a warning light that would only come on when we first started up the vehicle. Once you drove it for a while the warning would stop. We called and expressed our concern. The service advisers were very helpful, and explained what would be the best way to diagnose the problem. After dropping off our vehicle, the problem was identified, and repaired in a very timely fashion. They gave us a thorough assessment of the overall condition of the vehicle w/ some things to be aware of so that so that they didnt cause us further problems down the road. Greg Hyacinthe was receptive listened and assisted me by answering my questions and attempted to help me find a vehicle that would work for my budget. He was able to offer me information on a 2015 Golf. Surprisingly, he was able to construct a deal that made it possible for me to abandon my idea of a used car for the amazing new 2015 Golf. I sent a request for information and promptly received an email from Ty at Compass Motors, who let me know he would contact me the following day. I spoke with Ty the following day and let him know what we were looking to do and that we were checking out a couple other dealerships. We went to a few dealerships pricing out a trade in and looking at new vehicles. We didnt plan on actually making a deal that day, that is until we went to Compass Motors. We met with Tony, and he was great, knowledgable and just an all around genuinly nice guy. While checking out the car Jamal, the sales manager, spent time with my 5 year old son. I really appreciated Jamal taking the time to keep my son occupied long enough for us to get the information on the car/pricing. The price fit our budget and a deal was made. Tony let us know he was going to order the car we wanted and it would be ready within a few days. While leaving the dealership my son said to me " those are my friends in there" and I have to say this confirmed that we made the right decision coming to Compass Motors. Ty kept us up to date with when the vehicle would arrive and took us for a test drive, and we loved the vehicle. A side note, prior to heading to the dealership my son put on a nice shirt and said he wanted to look like the "dealership guys". He was super excited to go back to see Jamal, unfortunately it was Jamals day off so my son hung out with Jamals brother Jamar, who also works at the dealership. We signed all the paperwork with Rich, who was also great as we were pressed for time. I would recommend this dealership to anyone who wants a hassle free buying experience. We enjoyed it so much that we even got the service contract to have the regular maintenance done at the dealership.

Compass Service is respectful -- even though mine is an older VW -- and made sure I was fully informed of the work needing to be done and why -- and what should take priority. I really value that in a service facility. I feel like they respect me as a valued rational customer who deserves to get good guidance and not be bullied. That is amazing! They also ensured that I was not inconvenienced! It reaffirmed not only my loyalty to this service facility but also to the dealer and the VW brand because I know that I have a facility that I trust to bring any car that I might buy in the future.

Not sure why a dealer would offer an online tool for making service appointments (in principle very convenient) but ignore requests for appointments made using the system. Emailed the service manager after 24h to confirm the system was active - no response. I guess they dont need my business.

Wish I could have given them 2.5 stars, so I rounded down. I just bought a Certified Preowned VW and the buying process was decent. We took a test drive and negotiated a deal on a Saturday then picked it up 2 days later on Monday. When we picked it up they said they just ordered a 2nd key for us. Apparently CPO VWs need 2 keys. It seems like something that should have been taken care of when it was listed as a CPO, but not a huge problem. I live in PA, so I had to get it inspected on my own. It failed. There was a gouge in a tire, preventing it from passing. After calling and talking to a sales manager they squeezed me in on a Saturday morning that was apparently already overbooked and understaffed, although it didnt look like that when I was there. Finally, after looking at the tire and asking what I thought was too many questions (i.e. about where I had it inspected, why it failed, what the service tech said, etc.) for a CPO car that failed inspection(!) they put 4 new tires on. The tires are pretty cheap and they made it seem like they were being super generous. I did request an alignment, which I paid for. Im glad this wont be the dealer I go to for warranty repairs. I feel like after I signed all the papers and had the keys in had I was forgotten about. We were about to leave and I felt like giving my trade-in one last look for any personal items. I ran back inside and asked for the keys to check it out and the salesman could barely look away from his computer screen to hand them to me. This feeling was exacerbated by the tire issue. A dealer interested in keeping my business should have apologized for selling me a CPO car that failed inspection (tires arent covered under warranty obviously, but selling a car with bad ones is bad business) and immediately accommodated my schedule to put 4 OEM tires on the car. Finally, the dealer car wash was terrible! When I picked it up it was covered in dust from construction and a construction fence had blown up against it. I thought about going in to mention this, but frankly was glad just to be leaving.

We bought a used Toyota Matrix from compass motors two years ago and got the extended warranty. I brought the car in recently for the electric window motor. They looked the car over and found several other problems totaling $2400 in work but it was all covered. Then a part delay from Toyota meant I couldnt get the car back for a week and they stepped up with a beautiful loaner car. All this for a used car customer. They have my thanks and respect as a stand up operation that lives up to there word and provides true customer service.

The vacuuming was not done and they did not dry the car. I was told they were a little overwhelmed. I hope this does not happen the next time I come in for service,.

Honestly, I searched for a while to find a newer civic that I liked, and they finally had the one I wanted. I went in took a test drive and fell in love with it, and when it came time to buying it there was an airbag sensor on. They told me they would not give me the car unless it was perfect, so they brought it to Honda and they said the part i needed was on back-order. But I NEEDED the car that day to go down to Long Island to go to a funeral. They went out of their way and gave me a rental so I would not be without a car, and so i could go down to LI. I thought that was absolutely amazing of them to do for me, they paid for the rental the entire time i had it, no questions asked and i had it for about 1 week. About 3 days after giving it to the 1st Honda dealer, I find out the part is still not there, so Jeremy Kosteczko (my salesman) took it upon himself to contact the owner of Compass and have them relocate my Civic. The new honda dealer said they would have the part the next day and would have the car to me within 2 days, and they kept their word the entire time and had me updated on everything happening. This was by far the best experiance for buying a car, Compass did everything they could for me, they went above and beyond and were absolutely delightful to talk to! I would recommend everyone to stop by, and take a look for yourself.
