"Not A Good Place For A Used Car Purchase"

Do NOT buy a used car from this dealership. I have regretted my purchase ever since I made it in January. Bill Kolbs used cars are not Certified, Pre-Owned Subarus. They tell you that this is an advantage because they do the same 152-point inspection while saving you the approximately $1,000 in costs to get the official certification from Subaru. However, when I first went to test drive the car I purchased, the battery was dead. We asked them to check the battery carefully during the inspection process, and they assured us that this would be done. Within a month of owning this car, the battery was completely dead and needed to be replaced. Its clear to me that Bill Kolb Subaru either lied about the inspection that was completed, or they knew about the problem with the battery and sold me the car anyway (knowing that I was moving out of state and they would not be responsible for replacing it). Either way, this was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Its not the only problem Ive had with the car, either. My entire experience both with the staff at Bill Kolb and with the car since purchasing it has been negative, and I will never be going back. Ill be encouraging everyone I know to do the same.

My first time Lease of a Subaru Forrester was a disappointment, not because I received bad service the opposite, but I was disappointed in the cars performance. My trade-in exchange was very satisfactory, though the money I had to pay out in that transaction was immense. I only had the car for 2 month (I month was given for option of return) the depreciation of the Forrester by Chase bank was horrendous. The Legacy I leased unfortunately cost me much more than I anticipated. I hope as a first time Subaru customer I will have a great experience with the Legacy .My Sales Rep promised I would. I have purchased about 20 vehicles in my life - both personal vehicles and commercial. The process has never been smoother and more pleasant than with Stuart Lesser at Bill Kolb, Jr. Subaru. There is no remnant of any adversarial positioning or gamesmanship. It was straightforward because Stuart Lesser is straightforward. He answered questions directly and simply. Part of my incentive for buying the car was the special financing offered. I wanted to know if I qualified for certain without reliance on my impression of what Well Qualified might mean for Subaru. Paul Spiegel from Finance took my application and gave me my answer in less than a minute. The buying experience was as smooth as it can be. Stuart Lesser is a Prince among car salespeople. He asked what I wanted. He explained the different versions of the car available. He took me out for a test drive. He didnt try to steer me in any particular way. He didnt make me wait around so he could speak with the manager nor did he start writing random numbers on pieces of paper to hypnotize me into a deal. I decided I wanted a Subaru Legacy Limited with Eyesight if I got the special financing deal offered at the time. Stuart gave me a great price. I got the financing without double talk or hesitation. It wasnt in stock in my chosen color. I ordered it and waited three weeks for it to arrive. Stuart called me as soon as it was on the lot. One extra thing that sets Stuart apart: I mentioned how I wanted to surprise my wife but I didnt have one of those giant red bows seen in car commercials. He dug one out and loaned it to me for that extra touch for my wifes birthday. Nice! One extra note: Do yourself a favor and buy the extended service package they will offer. Its not undercoating. It will save you money in the end, gets you a free loaner car ahead of walk-ins when bringing the car in for service and makes for a more secure certainty that your car is as covered as it can be.
