"Thought I Got A Good Deal But..."

Bought an Audi A4 Quattro almost a year ago from here. I really thought that I was getting a good deal. When I first bought the car, there was a popping noise coming from the muffler. Kind of sounded like popcorn being popped. Robert, the manager told me not to worry about it and that its nothing. Of course Im not a mechanic so I took his word for it and thought maybe it was because it was a turbo engine and the muffler got really hot, BUT I did still get it inspected just in case. The mechanic said everything was good. But recently I was told by a trusted mechanic that the noise was the cylinders hitting together and that the noise is going to keep getting louder and louder until the cylinders turn into the shape of mushrooms from hitting together and the car is no longer operable. The only reason they didnt catch this before is because its not something they can really spot since the cylinders are sealed in the engine and has to be running a while to be able to hear the noise. He told me he could go ahead and fix it, but Im better off just selling it and getting another car. Not something I wanted to hear when I bought the car less than a year ago. Unfortunately there was a 3 month warranty on the car, but by the time I found out about this I was way over the 3 month mark. So now Im stuck with this car that Im going to have to sell and maybe hopefully get at least half of what I paid for it. :/ Not very satisfied with this dealership...
