I would honestly give ZERO stars if I could! VERY horrible service by Toyota Universe. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I was browsing on their website for a used vehicle to purchase and found a Toyota RAV4 that fit the description of exactly what I wanted. (http://www.toyotauniverse.com/auto/used-2013-toyota-rav4-le-little-falls-nj/15308483/). Despite the horrible weather conditions and ridiculous traffic while driving through Manhatten, NY, I traveled all the way from Brooklyn, NY to get to their location. I had an appointment scheduled with an individual by the name of Melanie Arenguez for 5:00 pm on 08/18/2017. I was unfortunately late to our appointment because of the traffic conditions but, still managed to get there to speak with her about the car. When my family and I arrived, she refused to greet us at the door despite her multiple phone calls because of our lateness. I was helped by another individual who at first was helpful in showing us the car that I wanted, however, once I was able to analyze the vehicle, I noticed that there was significant damage to the front-right side of the car. It was duct-taped to cover the damage. I spoke with Melanie the day prior to our visit and she did not mention anything about the damage to the car. She claimed that the car was in high demand and that we should try to get to the location as soon as possible to have a look at it. I was thoroughly disappointed to drive such a long time to discover that the car the company advertised as being in an excellent condition, to not be so excellent. When I brought up the issue I was told by the individual I was working with that "I didnt know" and that "I am sorry for this". I decided to call Melanie because she was the original person I had the appointment with. When she came down she also told me that "I didnt know". There is no way that you can be an employee of Toyota Universe and "not know" about your vehicles. They constantly tried to show me other cars, but my heart was set on that Toyota RAV4.

Was in the market for a new car but the prices were not as low as the closer dealers .Way to big to be personalized its more like an assembly line but had bought a new car 12 years ago here so wanted to patronize but ended up getting a better price else where. Then decided that while there we had seen a preowned car for son so tried that but again already saw it so wanted a quote on the all out the door price with fees and taxes.Email text messages but never a direct answer except come test drive it finally got someone who told me all the added fees they charge forget it.Come on a $895 dollar pre inspection fee should be looked over for free when they took car in on trade if not how did they come up with the sale listing price by time you get done they have about $2500 worth of dealer fees .Taxes license and price is all that it should be

I bought a 2011 Toyota SIENNA from TOYOTA UNIVERSE on Dec 26, 2016. It was a long weekend for the Christmas holiday. The vin # is STDKK3DC4BS049758. The TOYOTA UNIVERSE posted this vehicle on his website as a certified used car. After I purchased this vehicle, the problem comes. Buying a new car should me a happy thing, after 2 weeks later I found the A/C is not working on passenger side and the fuel cap is broken. I have to drive 200 miles to back to TOYOTA UNIVERSE to fix, because I live in Delaware. On the way to dealer, highway patrol pull me over said your vehicle’s temperate registration paper is expired and your temperate tag is also expired. Dealer should send me all these thing within 2 weeks. But never mind I paid for it. When I got there, they ask me go back home, I need to make another appointment, they need couple days to fix. OK, I drive 2 hours back home. After 2 weeks later, I came back again. They ask me left car there, give me another car to drive back home. This time, it takes more than 2 week to fix the car. Finally I get my car back, they fixed the A/C problem, but they didnot fix the fuel cap. They told me just go back home, they will order a new fuel cap and sent to me. But until now, i still don’t receive anything. On July 21st, 2017, this car break down on my park lot, the smoke come out from the AC compressor , so SCARED. So we towed the car to my local TOYOTA DEALER, my local dealer told me I need to spend 2000 dollars to fixed. I told them this is certified car, it should has the warranty to cover the cost. They said” no, our system shows your vehicle is not certified car. But it is weird, before selling the car to you, our system shows your car’s inspection is certified, the car should sold as certified car.” I call the TOYOTA UNIVERSE so many times, they said they don’t sell this vehicle as certified car. Oh, my goodness, I show them the picture on the website, show them see this picture, you guys posted as certified car. So far I still argue with them, I already film complain to TOYOTA headquarter. And I will file a complain with FTC.

Salesmen were too pushy. I would receive multiple calls or texts a day urging me to come back and buy or take a look at vehicles. It was incredibly annoying. The manager has zero people skills, is very rude, and sees everyone purely as a dollar sign. Negotiating pricing was a headache. Never returning to this dealership.

About 9 months ago, I purchased a Toyota Camry 2013 from this location. At the beginning, their selling strategies are good and the staff is nice, specially Mr Dizpenza. They promise all cars in good conditions, guarantee etc... However, seems that they dont check the conditions of the cars they are selling. Within 3 months after my purchase, my car start having problems with the battery and wipers. No manual book. Also, they provided ONLY ONE key when it is supposed to come with 2 keys. When I let the ToyotaUniverse know about my situation, they just ignored. They promised to call me back, but never did. After insisting many times, they provided the second key which DOESNT even open the car. So, how can I get in the car? The battery and the wipers had to be replaced in my own. ToyotaUniverse doesnt care about their clients post purchase, but they are good at the sales point! They should focus on their customers needs and satisfactions rather than just selling.

After 13 years of being a loyal customer, this visit was the straw that broke the camels back. Although the service reps are always pleasant, the follow up and communication is terrible. The prices are very high too. DONT PRE-PAY because once they have your money, youre forgotten about. Left my car for a repair. I was told Id be called later in the day to pick up my car. No call and my phone messages were not returned. Finally at 8pm I was told the car would be ready that night, latest in the morning. Again, NO call and my messages were ignored. This is the fourth day this has been going on. A Sr. Manager was supposed to call me back right away, but that was two and a half hours ago. I do not know what is going on with my car. Toyota dont keep your customers hanging in limbo.
