Unlike many other consultants we met along the way, he made us feel comfortable as soon as we met him - he was extremely patient, friendly, and down-to-earth. We never felt like he was trying to juggle our time with another clients; when he was with us, his attention was focused solely on our concerns. After the sale, he continued to be responsive to our calls when it came to filling out insurance paperwork, arranging for delivery, and making sure the registration process was seamless. The finance department was also great in helping us navigate through specific requirements in locking down a recent student discount. We appreciate the dedication of the entire team and hope our future buying experiences will be as good as the one we had recently.
"Dont Go Here For Pre Purchase Inspection"
- Their pre-purchase inspection service is pretty incompetent. - You dont even get to see the technician, you only interact with some people who call them advisors, but clearly have no expertise on cars. - If you need prepurchase inspection (or any inspection I believe) find a good honest mechanic (many of them are available on Yelp and Google reviews) Story: I took a friends car there for a pre purchase inspection for a used car this morning. Report advisor was Robert Hall and technician was Paul Proudfoot. Herb Chambers was the second place I took the car for inspection, as I needed a second opinion on some of its issues. The service they provide was very incompetent. In the first place I visited, I was told that A/C compressor is broken. However, the initial report I got from Herb Chambers was saying that A/C is OK. Then I insisted and ask them to check the A/C once more. My "advisor" (!) Robert took me to the car, turned on the A/C and told me that it is blowing cold air. Then I said I think it is not cold enough, then he brought a fancy IR thermometer and we saw that temperature was floating between 50-70 F. I told him that it should be around 30-40 F (thanks to the videos I watch on Youtube! ) if it is fully turned cold. After somewhat long discussion, finally he was convinced to call the technician Paul. Then Paul found out that A/C compressor is actually broken! If you dont know it costs around $1000 to replace it, and it was missed by these gentlemen! The car I took values around $5000-6000. I am shopping for my first car, and recently started learning deeper about cars. Yet, I was the person who was teaching how to do their job! Dont go to this place if you are looking for a good inspection of your car. You dont even get to see the technician for You talk to some guy in the counter who calls himself advisor, but clearly needs an advice about cars. There are much better local mechanics that can be found in Yelp etc. who will do all the inspection for much much less price in 15-30 mins, without keeping a hold of your car for a whole day.

I TOLD HIM WHAT I WANTED, THERE WERE ISSUES HE DIDNT GIVE UP ON THE SALE, RESOLVED THE ISSUES AND I BOUGHT THE SUV THAT I HAD WALKED OUT ON PREVIOUSLY. I am happy with the price I paid for my car, but (1) they service is incredibly inefficient; (2) you have to follow up multiple times just to get your car and (3) someone at the dealership hit and dented my car before I even picked it up, resulting in more work and more delay. PROS: If price is all you care about when buying a used car, I do think Herb Chambers has a good SMART pricing system that is objectively a good deal. I did significant research before purchasing the car and the price was the best I could find for the model and the miles. I tried to negotiate the SMART price and didnt get very far so if you dont like negotiating, the SMART price is a good way to go. CONS: Service is abysmal. I spent well over 5 hours in the dealership just trying to pay for and finalize documents for the car. Most could have been done online. I didnt even finance my car, I paid entirely in cash. I would make appointments and they were always late, leaving me to sit in the waiting room until I stood and acted like I was leaving. Only then would someone come help me. Because the car needed work done, they had to it to the body shop to fix. On Tuesday I walked to the body shop with my salesperson and the manager of the shop said it would definitely be done on Friday. On Friday my salesperson calls me to say it will be ready on Monday. I asked why not Friday and he said "Friday was what we were shooting for." Nope, you and the shop manager said it would be done on Friday; it was not aspirational, it was promised. Monday rolls around, I get another call from my salesperson asking for my social security number. He had written it down in my folder a few days prior. There was no need to call me, he already had the information. Then he tells me that someone at the lot HIT my car, there was a big dent and they needed to send it back to the body shop for two to three days. Three days letter I message him to ask where my car is. He says hell ask and follow up that morning. He doesnt get back to me. I call that afternoon to speak to the manager who calls the shop and tells me it will be ready at 5pm on Friday. So, five days from originally informing me of the dent, not three. And I had to do all the following up myself. I have now paid for the car 10 days ago and still dont have it AND they caused damage to it since I bought it without offering me any refund, discount, rebate on the damage, which I did not even see. I have already told people who are in the market for a CR-V that its a great car but I will never use this dealership again.

I had setup an appointment today to see a 2011 Acura MDX only to find out when I got there that the vehicle was no longer available for purchase. The excuse was "the vehicle was sold last night". If thats the case why not call me first thing in the morning to inform me? I would have appreciated that at least. I drove 65 miles to this location only to have my time wasted. The salesmen tried to help me find another vehicle but there was nothing else that caught my interest within my budget. I was told this has been happening lately at this location which came to my surprise. The only reason I drove this far was because the online reviews seemed great but I guess this was a hit or miss. The staff seemed very polite, but it doesnt make up for the avoidable inconvenience that was caused on my end. Wont be wasting my time with this dealership ever again!

The process is very smooth when you have Tony. He is also very helpful in tips on how to maintain your car in the best condition, so I always appreciate his advice. Once again the staff at Herb Chambers in Allston comes through with the best customer service for your automotive needs. I wrote a glowing review about a 3months ago, praising the staff and the service for their great work and pleasant service. This season I returned to put on winter tires and get new breaks and new employee, David Ricard kept up the branches stellar reputation for great service at a fair price. I was able to get a full diagnostic, repair/replace and cleaning all in the aame afternoon with no hassle and no mistakes. Dave and the folks at Herb Chambers Allston care about quality customer service and repairs for your vehicle and I would recommend this dealership to friends for sure. We bought our Nissan Rogue 2009, used for a great and affordable price in march 2015. the salesperson was excellent, honest and flexible for a great experience from the desk to the lot! Since owning it, we have done a few repairs but at no other dealership are you going to find such quality, honest diagnostics and an overall great attitude aroubd auto maintenance. Jobs are done promptly and fairly, the staff is diverse and knowledgeable and you can trust what they say about what needs to be done. 8-year customer who had been reasonably happy with leased Honda Fits over the years (actually, I absolutely love this car, especially the new one). Unfortunately, they will be losing me over their treatment of me after I turned in my last lease in April. The car was not inspected until 4 months after I turned it in, and magically I had a surprise charge. Rather than working with me, the GM would rather argue with me, claim no responsibility, and lose a long-time customer forever. Very disappointed.

Im very disappointed about this store. I purchased a used car one month ago. First of all I needed to wait about a week to get my car and they just promised everyday that tomorrow you will have it. After two days I realized that there were no washing liquid to wash front glass and i needed to come for that again. The worst part, that I didnt get second key and they again just promised me that i will receive them via mail. They telling me stories every time, that something happens, but at the end they just waisting my time and that 30 days warranty. Im not recommend this office for anybody.

"Review Of 2015 Honda Crv Exl Purchased Recently"
I purchased a 2015 Honda CRV EXL from Herb Chambers in Boston on 21st Jan 2016. Yesterday while travelling I suddenly noticed low pressure warning and immediately went to nearest gas station to check tire pressure. The Gas station was within a mile from my location where I saw the low pressure warning. As soon I reached there, I found my rear passenger side tire was flat. Later on when I tried to fix it the local BJs tires and service club said it was beyond repair. As a result of this I had to purchase a new tire of michelin brand to replace the damaged tire. I tried to contact the local Honda dealer, Honda customer service and also Bridgestone customer support. They informed me that the tires are not considered under warranty. I am not sure if this is the way tires provided by Honda are intended to last. This was my worst customer service experience ever. I had to spend half of day today explaining them what had happened. But no one helped in compensating me on this incident. I am not sure what kind of passenger safety they are even guaranteeing. Really disgusting.

it was Saturday at about 2:30pm very busy, But on August 28, 2015 , at the next town over I lock my car key in the car and this running . So I call honda Boston and I ask for my service advisor Stephaine Ginnopoulos ,I started telling her boss the Service director Susan Tarquini what happen to me . Susan said ok to do what it take to take care of me . Stephanie had the parts department to cut a skeleton key and had a lot guy drove to me with the spare key . I open my car door and thank the Lot guy. I then went home , no other dealership will do this kind of service . Dont succumb to high pressure "deals" with other dealerships. I went to Herb Chambers first, then checked out about 5 other Honda dealerships online and in person. My salesperson, Hudson at Herb Chambers, was the best. He gave me the most on my trade-in and the best overall deal to start out (the other dealerships ended up saying "we cant beat it") and best of all, he didnt pressure me and use typical car sales tactics like many of the other dealerships tried to do. He was honest, straightforward, and personable. He followed up when he said he would, but didnt pressure me at all. It is the best car buying experience Ive ever had.

I have not have one bad experience with this company, all of "the salesmans where kind, patient and helpful in that they let me take time out in picking a vehicle . As far as the service dept. they are the best place I had ever, i been going to this dealership since I was 17 years old with it was 1985 to now. They have the best service director from Paul Direen to Susan Tarquini great leaders and incredible service advisors from Rob Hall, Tanisha McRae and Stephanie Gioannoponlos are all so help full in there own way. In the 20 something years That I had services my vehicle at herb chamber honda Boston, I had never made a appointment ever. Still I had my vehicle service with no question . For example in 2009 on Saturday a holiday I was in jasperson New Hampshire when my vehicle was leaking something green . I called Stephanie at home and I told her the problem, instead of telling me to bad . She want out of her way and got a low truck from Boston to pick me up in New Hampshire then she got me a loaner for the rest of the weekend , repair my car on Monday with no cost . Service is always fast and vehicle clean, wash and vacuum. Melissa is one of the new service advisors , she is very fun, caring and helpful. I would tell anyone to come here anytime .

February 26th: I purchased my Honda Accord. After waiting for over two weeks and despite of the horrible experiences, I bought it. I had to spend 3-4 hours for transportation many times just to get to my work and their showroom after constantly being turned away. I have worked in the customer service industry and I am decent enough not to name people out here. But I was promised by two managers numerous things which never happened. All they did was lie to me over and over and over again. The GM promised me compensation if I bought the car. Nop LIE AGAIN .... a BIG ONE. The customer service representative keeps on calling me to ask if I am still in the market to buy a car. When I say I bought one but would like to talk to GM....it NEVER happens. I emailed the corporate to complain about my issue and they never got back to me. I learnt it the hard way folks. NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. You will find yourself tangled in a web of lies. There are much better dealers around please shop and do your research.

I just bought a new 2015 Honda Accord Sport February 23, 2015. The Salesman, Eric Poulson was very professional, helpful and no sales pressure tactics. I wanted a white pearl car with tan leather seats added to it. I found out that the 2015 Honda Accord Sport white pearl only came with black interior and black cloth seats. Eric Poulson got me a great price on the leather interior that I wanted added. He showed me the leather samples to choose from. Initially I wanted tan leather but Eric pointed out that it may be too light because the car was a white and he suggested the buckskin color leather would look better against the black interior and he was right. When I pick up my car and saw the buckskin leather it looked great and the quality of the leather felt great. Then Eric Poulson showed how the various gadgets worked and set up my smartphone with the car so I could do hands free calling. I traded in my 2005 Avalon which gave me great service for ten years it was in good condition it had 109,000 but I was tried of getting the same car every day. Eric took to the GM Errol Gaudette and he gave me a great price for my trade especially because I had all the maintenance records.
