"Turning In Lease Car"
My lease was up at the end of August and my car was inspected. Everything was fine except for "excess wear and tear" on one tire. I was not concerned because I had spent the extra money when I purchased the car to get the "tire program." I followed all their rules about having tires rotated, etc. When I turned the car in they said that it was not covered. So why get the tire program? I now have to pay GM $172 for a tire I could have replaced cheaper. I will never go there again. The buying process was a joke and so was turning the car in.

Simply put...Bertera listed Honda Crosstour for $13,477. Met salesman yesterday and liked car. Today, I drove 45 minutes back to the dealership to have salesperson eventually share that since there is a Dealership Facilitated Transaction (trade), there is an additional fee of $2150 (per their written Disclaimer), and my new price is $15,627. Although legal, I left there rather disappointed falling victim to such a classic "Car Salesman" move. If you are shopping the website, please read the disclaimer so you at least know the facts. For the record, the other car sites that were also advertising these vehicles did NOT include such a fee on top of their advertised prices. They simply appeared more expensive. I trust that this story speaks for itself.
"Zero Stars Would Be Too Good For Them"
I recommend avoiding these folks at all costs. Got a reasonable trade and deal on a new 2015 Silverado HD truck which I ordered in early 2014. That was then end of the good. Last visit they damaged my truck, said they test drove my issues (hmmm 0.2 miles added on the Odometer), and fixed a recall. The recall is still active on my truck with GM, so I guess they didnt damage the truck, fix the recall or test drive the issues. Couldnt even get an oil change and tire rotation correct, not even an apology or offer of a free one for their screw up. Offered solutions to make me a happy customer and refused every one of them. Was told if I didnt like it, go fix it myself. Yeah, thats really good customer service/warranty on a very expensive truck. They know how to play the game Many issues under warranty with the truck not repaired, they blamed GM not approving repairs,GM says dealer says nothing wrong with truck. GM says they are not responsible for dealer actions since dealer is private. Get the game played? I asked to speak with the owners or even the GM, was told personally by the GM to let him know if I ever had problems. He refused to answer my calls. I was told they dont ever want to see me again. Great customer service. Never Ever Trust Bertera or General Motors Again.
"2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Excellent"
I was in the market for a newer Grand Cherokee and had been looking for a couple of months when I found the color and feature package I wanted located at Bertera Chevrolet in Palmer, MA. I called the dealership at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening and had some specific questions concerning the Jeep I was looking at and, lucky for me, I got “Zack†on the phone who called me back 15 minutes later just as they were getting ready to close. Zack got the information that I needed back to me very quickly which was important to me seeing as how I was an hour and a half away from their location. The following day, I drove out to the dealership where I met with Zack and purchased the Jeep I inquired about. I told Zack that one of the biggest reasons I drove the 1 – 1/2 hours out to Bertera was because of how Zack was so prompt getting back to me and answered all my questions. At the end of our meeting, I told Zack about how I was also a person in the same industry he was with regard to being a former Sales Manager at a very large auto dealer outside of Boston. I like to conduct myself the same way that the people at Bertera do and a big reason I purchased from them, they were not only very professional, but also took care of every aspect of the sale from financing to my driving off the lot with the vehicle that same very day; and they even offered me lunch!! Our experience with Bertera has had its ups and downs, the first time we went to Bertra we were looking to improve our credit, so we had gone in with hopes of picking a used vehicle and were told that there was only one car on the lot that we could get into with our credit situation, with a low affordable payment. A.J. the salesman was very helpful to us and explained that we should pay on it for 2 years and come back and get into a car that we would want to keep. We purchased the vehicle and it did have some problems which after time Bertera did resolve. Now two years later we went in wanting to get into a newer car with low mileage and we were approached by salesman Brian Hall, and explained to him the situation with the first car we had purchased two years ago and told him that we would like to purchase a car that we want to keep with a lower interest rate. Brian Hall was very easy to talk to, and wanted to know what we were interested in for a vehicle and what we would be comfortable with for payments. We told BrIan we would be willing to go up in our monthly payment amount if they could get the interest rate down and us into a vehicle that we wanted to keep for a long period of time. Brian gave us a few options and was very determined on getting us into the car we want and at the payments we had asked for with a much much lower interest rate from the first vehicle we had purchased. Not once did he try to coerce us into a higher payment that we did not want. To sum things up we purchased a fully equipped fully loaded vehicle that we wanted with 3500 miles at a base model price due to it being used.Basically it looked in every way brand new with not one flaw in the vehicle and it came with a hundred thousand mile warranty. We were very pleased with Brian Hall and all off the staff. Also Brian Yarrows congratulated us personally while reassuring us how nice the vehicle is, he even knew who had originally bought the vehicle brand new, which was very reassuring to us that they care about their customers. This dealer does not back their cars. They try to squeeze every extra penny from you that they can. When a problem was pointed out two days after buying the car...they gave us a song and dance that it was normal. They also froze the lugs on the tires by over tightening them. Now I have added cost to buying tires.

I was talking to1 salesman at the dealership for a while and was promised that everything was all set if I could come down and just look at the car and do some paperwork. I was worried about applying because my credit is not that great and I did not want to drive 2 hours to be denied. The woman told me that it was all set after I submitted my application online and told me that there was going to be no problem with finances. When I get there the man had no idea that I had filled it out online the woman I had been talking to was not there to work on my case and I drove 2 hours one way to sit in an office chair for 3 hours and then be denied and have to drive 2 hours home after I was promised this would not happen.

"Not So Great When It Comes To Warranty"
We bought a used Suburban from Bertera, expressly indicating that we needed the towing package. The salesman assured us that everything was perfect with the truck. Two weeks after purchasing it we towed a trailer. The trailer lights would not work. The trailer was brand new. It turned out that the problem was with the internal circuit of the truck. Called the dealer, the salesman said that unless they determined that its a safety issue they would not cover it. We live in NJ and were going to make the 300mile trip to the dealer to get it fixed. But there was no guarantee that they were going to cover it. Not only the "perfect" truck turned out to be not so perfect, but they wont even stand by their warranty. If an electrical circuit is not a safety issue, I dont know what is. No, I,would not recommend this dealer at all. They obviously want to sell you the car, but offering a warranty means nothing, because theyre reluctant to honor it.

"So Bad I Couldnt Wait To Walk Out"
I was searching the web for trucks this past weekend and found one that I wanted at this dealership. Monday morning, I used the chat function on their website to ask about looking at it. They indicated that it was still for sale (stock number C14035) and took my contact information in case the status changed. I got out of work at 5 and drove for 2 hours. Finally arrived at the location where the receptionist took my information and looked up the vehicle. She then introduced me to the manager and then he introduced me to the sales person. All of them took the printout of the vehicle I wanted to see. I went through an interview process; they looked at my trade in; I sat down again and answered some more questions. Still, I havent looked at the truck. Finally, 15 minutes before they close I was informed that the vehicle I was asking about had been sold. So, I drove 2 hours to get there. Spent 45 minutes answering questions. Had my truck looked at by at least two people and all that time the vehicle I was interested in purchasing was not available. To make matters worse, when I got up to leave I had to wait in the lobby, holding the packet of information about the unavailable truck and my own registration until they finished test driving my own vehicle. I wont be going back. Neither should you. BTW, a day later and this truck is still listed For Sale on their website. Makes me wonder why.

I have been a customer of this establishment for many years and have always had pleasant experiences until now. After dealing with Jeremy, who stated that he was the service manager, I will not be purchasing any more vehicles from there again. You have lost my business and I will be sure to let everyone know how poor the service is. I had called with a issue with my car and he had basically told me that I have to foot the bill, he stated that we have never been there for the catalytic converter even though I have documentation that I have. He basically was insinuating that I was lying to get the issue covered through the warranty. Very unpleasant and confrontational, the service manager that was there previously was fantastic and was willing to help.

As we waited, on a very comfy couch, everyone that passed by us acknoledge us and made sure we had been taken care of. I love my Tahoe that I recently purchased at Bertera! This was the first vehicle I purchased on my own and it was a very pleasant process at Bertera. They were even willing to stay open very late to complete the paper work for my new purchase! I had put the Tahoe on hold and spoke with both Sierra and Simone on the phone. They were both excellent and very helpful! Bob helped me complete the purchase and he was very friendly and thorough! My only complaint was that I had been offered over double the amount for a trade in that Bertera offered me. Overall it was a good experience!

To be totally honest...a few years back I had a less than desireable experience at this dealership. This time things were totally different. I met with the salesman Bob C., told him how I expected it to go and he completely honored my wishes and...hes a great guy!! I took the car home overnight for a test drive, my wife loved it and I got financed with no issues at the price I wanted. Bob did whatever it took to earn my business. My overall experience with Myles from finance was enjoyable and respectful. Everyone was friendly and helpful and there was no high pressure sales. I would definately return and do this again.

I have been searching for a replacement vehicle for about two years now Ive been driving a Pontiac Vibe & I love it but they dont make them anymore. Nothing I have looked at seemed to fit me, I kept searching and searching I took my time and visited about 17 dealerships in the past 24 months and I always went in with a certain vehicle in mind and I was always let down. I made the decision to contact Bertera Chevy to take care of a minor recall on my car after getting the runaround from the local dealership in my city that usually services my car. While at Bertera, I spotted a rare 2011 Saab 9-4x and asked Bob Canning to show it to me. Bob was very pleasant and patient and long story short, I bought the vehicle that day. Something I did not plan as I had recently decided to keep my 12 year old car after doing some shopping around a few months earlier. I thought customer service was dead after that experience until I visited Bertera Chevy. When I came back to Bertera a few days later to pick up my purchase, Bob had arranged for Dave Greenlaw to go over all the technical features and set up my preferences and Bluetooth. That took some time as the vehicle is loaded with options I was not familiar with. The crossover was well priced and I received a good amount on my trade. I would highly recommend visiting Bertera Chevy and speaking to Bob or Dave.

Buying a car unexpectedly due to the impending demise of the old one was made the most painless possible procedure by the excellent staff at Bertera. From the staff in the service department to the patient and intelligent young man (Jacob Mead) who sold me the car, everyone was helpful. All questions were answered and from the trial drive of the vehicle to the ultimate delivery took less than a day. Years ago when I first started buying Chevrolets (1961) I bought from a dealer like this. I thought they had all disappeared, but apparently not. Right in easy driving distance of where I live is this superior dealership and its wonderful staff.

Chris was a very honest and took interest in my wife & I during the buying experience. Although, no one knew what HHR stood for, I did educate him. He made calls to my home, checking on how I and the car were doing. Had some issues with the used car, but Jay personally handled the problems and got them fixed. They do stand behind their used products and will go out of the way to correct issues. I did have a problem with service, over torquing wheel lug nuts, though. We all are not "muscle-men". I had to take the car to my local garage to have them loosen and re-torqued to the proper 100ft/lbs. per manufacturers specs. Over torquing alloy wheels will result in warped brake rotors. Hopefully, the mechanics will be educated on this process. A special thank you to the young lady in charge of the service scheduling department.

I hadnt bought a car since 2001 an was dreading the negotiating process as well as the logistics of getting a new car. The dealership made it quick, easy, and seamless. Jay, the manager, was very helpful in getting my broken down civic towed to them and extremely friendly and accommodating. I was looking fo purchase a new car for my daughter who is graduating from college in August(she earned it). After several so so dealerships I found Berfera in Palmer MA. What a change from the rest. Right from the second you walk into the showroom people where there to help(not the pushy salespeople) but people like Jay Freeman, knowledgable and easy to talk to. Helping select the right vehicle, getting it financed, having the car registered and ready for pick-up. My credit isnt the best but Vinny found us an excellent deal and before I knew it the car was mine, a new Chevy 2014 Cruze. My daughter had no idea she was getting this and the Bertera team was all in when I brought her to get the car(she thought we went there to get tires for my car). The surprise was priceless. Thanks to my excellent experience I know where the rest of my vehicles will be coming from(have 2 more children). I own a 2008 Chevy 3500HD that I use for Hauling Campers and Small Equipment all across the country for a living. I came off the Highway to deliver a camper just over the Ct. Line when I had a terrible grinding noise come from the front end (a Brake Caliper had broken loose), I called Bertera Chevrolet and explained my situation and told them I needed to do a pick-up in N.Y. that had already been scheduled. I was told they would do their best but on short notice it might be late in the day or the next day. Upon my arrival I was met by the Service Manager which took my truck in immediately. They had already called other dealers to gather the parts that were needed; The Service Manager himself along with another mechanic worked on my truck and had my truck back in service in 45 minutes!!! I have NEVER had such a positive experience before on any product or service. When Im in the area, they have earned my service work.
