"Experience At Darcars Could Not Have Been Worse"
Unfortunately I encountered the worst customer experience of my life at DARCARS Toyota in Silver Spring, specifically with the Auto body Shop. My car was towed there after it overheated. They told me 3-4 times my car was "almost done." After over 3 weeks and $2,700 I was finally able to pick it up, but on my drive home it overheated, so the issue clearly wasnt fixed. When I called to let them know it would need to be towed back there, their only response was "Sorry we dont have a tow truck." No apologies, no concern, and no sense of urgency to fix the issue. I had it towed back at my expense on a Friday, tried getting in touch with them Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Finally got someone on the phone on Tuesday and they said "We got a call your car was coming here but havent seen it." Several calls later they found it on their lot and took it back in to make the right repair. Again, no apologies or explanations and both the Manager Jim and repair man Rudy were extremely rude to us. My car still does not sound quite right but I will not be returning here.

I have purchased five cars here and the last one is a Prius plug in car. Supposed to have a tire repair kit and when I went to go ask about it they brushed me off giving me a first aid kit. When I realized and went back and they only gave me half of what I needed. I have a flat tire with no spare and half a kit that cant plug in to my tire. I am very disappointed with DARCARS. Will never do business again.

I opened up my hood my 2014 Sienna to look at the Air Filter. Was shocked to see that the coolant tank was empty. My Sienna has 28K miles and I just took my Sienna for routine service at 25K. Dont believe that the coolant can disappear in 3000 miles. The only explanation is that it was never replenished during the last service (or earlier). I thought ToyotaCare included "topping off" fluids. Not happy :-(

I had GREAT service from Peter Bielanski at the Darcar Toyota in Silver Spring, I have had several problems with my car, "by the way I had just purchased in October" so I had a bad attitude from the start because I didnt think I should be having problems this early after just buying a car. Peter was very nice and understanding, which made me quickly change my attitude. I felt real comfortable putting my trust in him, I am really upset that he will be moving to a diffrent service center, he told me that I will be left in good hands, and believe it or not I am trusting what he has told me, otherwise I will find him and go to that service center!!! Had a FABULOUS experience at DARCARS Toyota despite the crappy situation I found myself in. I was looking to trade in my VW Id had for the past 10 years and upgrade to a luxury model. The dealership I brought it to prior to DARCARS offered me less than 1k for it...a ridiculous trade in offer for its condition according to autotrader and other online services. Thankfully I got in contact with Darryl, who helped me get the car towed from the first dealership to his location (another headache). DARCARS inspected the vehicle, gave me a solid offer, and helped me trade in for a Lexus. Darryl was an exceptionally good salesman - he was honest, answered all my questions, and never made me feel rushed. I was quoted a price from the sales person and received a call from Mr Donald sayING otherwise... do not ever buy from this dealership. His level of professionalism and respect needs coaching. The service is terrible, they want to save money and do not perform all the service needed. Unless of course they have a supervisor in their back. Do not go in the afternoon, all the employees are tired, and do not want to work deeply in the service they provide. I do not recommend to go to maintain your Toyota in this location. My wife and I recently purchased a Prius Wagon from Darcars Toyota at Silver Spring, MD. Mr. Jorge Martinez, our sales consultant was absolutely fantastic. He was clear with his advice on available vehicles, provided direct and easy to understand pricing information, was kind and courteous when my wife and I visited the showroom, and made our buying experience a pleasant one. Our interaction with Jorge was a complete contrast to the high pressure sales tactics that we had experienced at other dealerships. We would say that our easy interaction with Jorge was one of the main reasons that convinced us to buy from Darcars. What we also liked about Darcars was that they offered the best price for the vehicle that we wanted, and the sales managers were also very courteous throughout the buying process. "Salesreps, Management And Other Things"
Overall: Disappointing. 1) Salesrep was personable, helpful and answered all of my questions but not entirely honest. When looking my car over prior to giving the keys to the gentleman that estimates how much your trades are worth, made the comment..."did you know your tire pressure monitor light is on?" It caught me off-guard because we put nitrogen in the tires to prevent pressure fluctuations. As a result, I was thinking I had a bad tire and may need to get it replaced. Since the car was about to get evaluated as a trade-in, I figured the light would detract from the cars value. Not good. However, I checked the car for the light upon leaving the dealership and the light was not illuminated. I also rechecked the tires and found nothing wrong with the tires. Very mis-leading comment and I am not sure why the salesrep would say something like that unless it is to get me to believe the car is in worse shape than it appears to be. 2) Sales manager would not budge on my 2010 SUVs trade-in value. The best they would offer me was KBBs "Fair" value. My SUV is at minimum in "Good" condition (based upon the definition of "Good" by KBB). The difference in price is about five thousand dollars. I understand the dealership needs to make a profit but that profit margin seems extreme. Considering how large DARCAR automotive group is (the larger the dealership network the more flexibility they have to make a deal) and what KBB says dealer retail price is, they were looking at a profit of over eight thousand dollars if I accepted their trade-in offer! Thats insane! Since my car required no reconditioning, the fact that the sales manager wouldnt give me a better deal blew my mind. Needless to say, I did not consummate the deal. 3) The General Manager of the dealership wrote me an email the next day asking how my shopping experience was. I replied with the above comments. I never heard back from him. Not even a short reply telling me he was sorry that I didnt agree with their pricing scheme. However, he did refer my email to customer relations because I received a phone call the next day from a customer relations rep. 4) Customer relations rep called me while I was driving on the interstate about to pull over at a rest stop so my daughter could use the restroom. She seemed nice but I had to quickly ask her if I could call her back because I was pulling over to take my daughter to the restroom. She replied that I could call her back if I wanted to but made no attempt to ask if she could call me back at a different time that is more convenient to me (Basic customer service thing to do. Something you would think a customer relations rep would be quick to ask). Since the rep did not leave a call back number for me, I called the number that showed up on my cell phone. Wow, was that a mistake. A customer relations admin assistant answered the phone. I told him what was going on and that I needed to speak with the customer relations rep. He told me that she was not available and that he didnt think she was at work today! I told him that I just spoke to her (less than 15 minutes ago) so knew she was at work and that she told me it was okay to call her back. It was like he didnt even hear me or want to listen to me. He said he wasnt sure if she was available and asked me why I was calling. I reminded him that they called me and I am returning the call. He then asked if I knew why they were calling (you can probably start to see how comical this was turning out to be). I told him it was probably related to a recent car buying experience. He said okay, thanks for letting him know and that he was going to close the case. At that point, I realized I was wasting my time and told the individual that I was confused at how he could consider the case closed when I havent even spoken to the customer relations rep yet. He then thanked me again and hung up. Bottom line: Go to a different dealership.

I had a wonderful experience buying my car from Darcars Toyota in silver spring. Rod Durden assisted me with providing all the required information I wanted and asked for. The pricing was straight forward. No tricks played. I was never rushed to make a decision like many other sales people out there. I am impressed with how Rod was able to assist a lot of customers in a timely and professional manner. He made sure every thing was taken care of even thought it was very late in the night and left home only after making sure that finance department received my paper work. Finance Manager John Desouza did an excellent job in making the paper work process as quick and painless as possible as it was already an exhausting evening for me. Next day both John and Rod followed up with me to make sure everything is alright and quicken the process of having accessories installed on my new Camry. It was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend Darcars Toyota Silver Spring to my friends. I would highly recommend speaking to Rod Durden as he will make sure you have a great car buying experience.

Hesitant to make the 80-mile hike out of state to Silver Spring to look at a used vehicle, the reviews on this site were helpful, encouraging and accurate in both the Sales and Financing processes. SALES: There were two key points on the sales process that made the biggest impression in this used car purchase: honesty and low-pressure. Florent Cox provided all of the very important moments of privacy to discuss specific details, provided all of the answers to the questions about the vehicle and provided a respectfully quiet test-drive so we could assess the vehicle performance (and we didnt have to ask). Another thing to note is that Mr. Cox used his day off to work with us and reach a good deal on the purchase. It is fair to say he tolerated a barrage of questions during negotiation and answered honestly and fairly. He did not pressure or attempt to hurry the situation along. He was patient and willing to work with us… as was the sales manager, Eric Johnson. In comparison to another local dealer and with past car-buying situations, we were met with honesty and respect. FINANCING: Having had some past experiences at this point in the process that were rather painful, expectations were set for a struggle. It was the opposite. Ji Kim turned what could have been a rather complicated financing situation into a very simple one with a surprisingly better outcome than we thought was possible. Finally, as if pleasant sales and financing processes werent enough, the DARCARS team showed true class and courtesy with a non-car-buying situation. While this isnt the time or place for the details, the important part is that this was the kind of personal, human-touch that makes these folks top-notch. Eric, Ji… thank you. That meant a lot. The consistent high ratings and praise of the sales team were proven correct. It was well worth the trip. It was a pleasure doing business with DARCARS in Silver Spring and we will be doing so again when the time comes.

When I arrived at the Dealership I was turned over to DARRYL on the floor (This is the salesman you want!) and greeted by the Manager JON (This guy is amazing. All his people love to work for him and I can see why!) We test drove the vehicle, and they made me an offer that I couldnt refuse on my trade as well as the best possible price on the vehicle I wanted. There wasnt anything that I could say no to and they addressed ALL my concerns. It wasnt soon after that I was turned over to finance and working with RODNEY (This is they guy you want folks!) who took care of me and even found me a better financing deal than my bank of 15 years was giving me. Like I said I have never ran across a dealership like this before and I will never forget it. This team and this dealership are what the other dealerships across the country should be measuring themselves against!
