I purchased my 2008 Mini Cooper S with the help of Kay at Union Auto. Let me begin by saying EVERYTHING went smoothly. The next thing you should know is that you shouldnt be fooled by the appearance of the lot. It doesnt look like anything special but I suppose thats part of the reason I got my car for a very fair price. I searched the internet for this particular car however, I was looking for a 2009/2010 model. For whatever reason, this 08 Mini showed up on the list. What a happy accident! It looked great so I decided to contact Kay and the rest is history. I test drove the car on a Monday. It was a holiday and since I was financing my purchase through my CU I could not proceed with the purchase. After the test drive, I had mentioned to Kay that I would be getting an extended warranty through the CU. He advised that this was the best way to go since auto dealership warranties are traditionally much more expensive. He was very knowledgeable and forthcoming. Tuesday arrived and I went to my CU to sign the loan papers. I was very surprised to hear the outrageous cost of the extended warranty that the CU was offering. Even the loan officer admitted it was costly. I decided to forgo the warranty. At that moment, Kay had contacted my loan officer asking if he could fax a warranty to her that might work for me. Wow! It was almost identical (the best coverage) to the one offered by my CU at 1/3 the cost! It was within my budget. Kay did this research on his own - without knowing what was transpiring at the bank. So he re-wrote the sales paperwork and re-faxed it the bank. While I waited the loan officer stated how impressed she was with his helpfulness. I explained that he has been helpful from the beginning. After I concluded business at the bank, I headed over to Union Auto to get my Mini! AS PROMISED, Kay had new brakes put on the car, a battery installed, and the car was washed and ready to go. He even had the car smogged next door! Last but not least, he took the car to fill it up with fuel! I live in San Diego county so a full tank of fuel was the cherry on top of the sundae so to speak. Yes - I drove all that way for the car and the impressive service. Kay is professional, friendly, unassuming, and keeps his promises. It is my pleasure to give him and Union Auto a fantastic review. "Easiest Car Buying Experience Ever!"
This is not a large dealership with dozens of cars to choose from, it is a medium sized repair and body shop that also has a handful of cars there for sale... I admit I was a bit leary of the place when I first drove over there and saw it. But immediately Kay (my salesman) put me at ease with his genuine honesty. He was fantastic! I liked the car but looked at a couple of others he had there and I believe withing twenty minutes I was headed up the street to get cashiers checks!! Kay asked if I had time to leave the car there for one more day while they did a complete inspection and detailed it for me so I did. The next day the car was sparkling clean, had a brand new battery, new oil, fluids topped off, and even had a full tank of gas!! I guess thats the benefit of buying a car from a repair shop!! I am so impressed with my car buying experience from Union Auto Group. I have bought a number of cars through my life, from private parties, dealerships, used car lots - nothing compared to this experience. This is the way it should be. Deal with Kay. He is a man of principle and integrity. I bought a 2004 Toyota Matrix that only had 66,000 original miles. I was given a awesome deal. Price was better than anything I saw on the internet. Came from Corona to KoreaTown not knowing what to expect having never dealt with Union Auto Group. This place has spoiled me forever - I have a new standard with which to judge any other experience. They have their own service department that took care of timing belt, changing transmission fluid and oil. I am elated at my Toyota Matrix and the service I got.
