Recently bought a 2008 Toyota Matrix from John & Co. at Winnisquam Auto. Had been looking for one on-line all summer. Finally saw one for sale there and drove 4 hours to go look at it. Was not disappointed. Saw prior reviews of the business, which encouraged me, and I have to say it was one of the easiest and best experiences buying a used car that Ive had. They find quality vehicles, no hard sell, just good, stand-up people, and if anything comes up within 30 days, theyll take care of you. Would buy another vehicle there in a heartbeat.

They fixed the front brakes as I reported them weak on the test drive. And not just shaving down the rotors. They put in new ones!! They let us have the car checked out with our own mechanic and John M himself even vacuumed my truck while I was having the car checked out. I recently purchased a 2002 Honda Accord from these guys as my first venture into manual transmission vehicles. (Save the manuals guys...) It also happened to be my first vehicle purchase in my life as well. Winnisquam Auto made sure that I felt comfortable. They were a no-nonsence/ no stress dealership. They even let me go on my test drive all by myself to let me be super comfortable and relaxed. "Let Me Test Drive A Vehicle With No Brakes!"
My Son and I went there to look at a Ford Ranger pickup with only 45K miles. This was our second time in, as the first time they would not allow us to test drive the truck due to it snowing at the time. Today we pulled out of the driveway and got about a mile down the road when we realized we had no brakes! Luckily, we had no traffic in front of us and we were able to use the transmission and emergency brake to stop the truck. When we got back to the dealer the salesman said "boy, that was quick" When we told him what happened he apologized and said he would get the truck back into their shop and call us. The truck had a valid state inspection sticker on it, God knows how. When we got home there was a message from the salesman saying that he drove the truck and we were right the trucks brakes did not work. I have not gotten a call back to say they fixed it but I see the truck is still for sale. Buyer or test driver beware.

This was my first car purchase. I had been looking for a Subaru with lower miles that was in my budget. After searching for weeks I finally found this car. I was a little wary of going through a smaller dealer, not knowing if I should go with them over a Subaru dealership. Buddy was great, not too pushy, which was perfect for my being new to the process. The price was pretty fair, and they detailed and put new tires on the car before I picked it up. I went back a month later for an oil change and they were great. Their guys in the shop were honest and knowledgeable and gave me advice for going forward with the maintenance. Also, the car is fantastic. With all the weather the last few months, I have always been safe and able to drive through anything. They sold me a solid vehicle and Im very happy with my purchase.

I love the experience that all the processes went so smoothly, without selling other unwanted cars, without hiding information. The guy named Buddy is of great help! He is very reliable, explained all the information for the cars, and leaving the customer to make their own decision. He even provided some practical tips for maintenance. It was so nice of them to have provided to clean up the car after the deal was done, when the car looked already pretty clean to me. Purchasing a vehicle with our son was amazing with Bud, at Winnisquam Auto. We had looked at a few cars and wanted to make sure that our son was safe in a vehicle that would last him for several years. Working with Bud was great, with his laid back attitude and absolutely no pressure, we where given details on the cars that we where looking at. What wasnt known about the car was looked up to give us the correct details. Bought a 2003 Honda Accord and love it. Everyone a Winnisquam auto from the owner John Bernard to the salesman I worked with John McDermott were extremely helpful and guided me through the process like I was family. Never any pushy tactics or anything youd expect from a car dealer. I tried to purchase a car through them a couple years back but couldnt secure the financing. I had such a great experience even though I wasnt able to get a car then, that I came back when I was ready to purchase again. I had a little snag with financing again but, everyone there was more than helpful and patient to work with me to get it straightened out. Alicia in financing walked me through the whole process so that I could understand it better. (First time actually purchasing a car through a dealer) Just a great experience all around top notch owner, salesman, and financing staff. Will definitely buy my next car from them as well. "Great Guys To Deal With"
found this car after many months of searching. Almost bought one from one of their competitors who deals exclusively with BMWs, but could not reach a deal with them that suited both of us. They were unwilling to come to a price I could afford so I had to walk away. This happened twice to me. Was very disappointed after I had driven 2 1/2 hours to look at these cars, but it actually turned out for the best. I found this one, worked with Buddy, then closed the deal with John. After a classic bait & switch from Grappone in Concord, I found a used Saturn listed on Craigs List that looked very nice at Winnisquam Auto. When I got there, not only was the Saturn available, but there were at least 3 other vehicles in my price range (about $4,000) that looked really nice. I settled on a Honda Accord because it would be just a little more useful and still gets great gas mileage. No pressure sales from John McD and very nice job by Alicia getting the financing and paperwork done. They serviced the vehicle before the sale and everything looks great so far.

"Most Relaxed Purchase Of My Life"
My girlfriend and I have been searching for a used car for her 18y/o daughter since her accident 3/27/13. With absolutely nothing in our price range of $6-8000 with under 100k miles I started to call on friends for help. My good friend Bill from New Hampshire told me to call his friend John at Winnisquam Motors. We live on the coast of CT approx 180 miles south. I called John and left a message at 10pm Tuesday evening. John promptly returned my call at 830am Wednesday. After discussing our dilemma John offered us a few options. To make a long story short we put a deposit on an 03 Saturn that John recommended and arranged for a Friday am delivery. We made the 3 hour trip and the car was even better than he had explained to us. The paperwork side of things went smoother than usual even though we did pay cash, and the staff was amazing. Michelle already had our paperwork typed before we got there, Craig was professional and more than courteous with the rest of the paperwork/title/registration stuff and Mo took care of the delivery aspect of things. Winnisquam Auto was great to deal with. You can tell that they search very hard to find vehicle that are not clunkers. It is difficult to find an older Toyota Corolla that is in great condition but they sold me one that is absolutely mint. Highly recommend John and his dealership!

What a great discovery! Really dislike buying cars, but searched out a particular make and model, Winnisquam Auto came up. Called, spoke to the owner, and right away felt I could trust him. Tested the car next morning and worked out a win win deal seamlessly, but that was just the beginning. He felt something might be wrong and would not release the car until he was 100% certain I would not have any problems. I had a couple of mechanics check it out, they made some suggestions, and No Problem! the dealer made any and all repairs these mechanics had suggested without challenge or dispute, in spite of a considerable amount of investment in labor and parts. I waited on site, met the rest of his staff, and found all of them to be amazingly helpful and friendly. Ive already passed his name on to several friends and saved a few business cards to hand out to anyone looking. Who would have thought that Id EVER write such a review of a car dealership!! But they deserve it!

I have bought two cars here. Each time I looked around at multiple dealers sites and the combination of quality cars and the low prices were the best around at Winnisquam Auto. The sales staff knows their stuff, very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of different models and makes. At no time did I feel pressured. They stand behind their cars, too. Next time I buy a car I am going to start my search here. I suspect it will end here as well, just like the last two times.

After quite a long search we found exactly what we were looking for at Winnisquam Auto - well it wasnt white with a sunroof - but in every other way it exceeded. The Owner and his staff were patient, helpful and friendly, with not a hint of pressure. There were a couple of minor repairs needed and these were carried out efficiently and speedily. The selection of cars was excellent with great prices. Finding them was the best Christmas Gift of 2011 !
