No customer service this guy does not stand by what he sales. I dont usually write reviews but this place is so so bad. No one calls you back and they only people that answer calls are sales men and once you buy they all ignore you. I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM HERE AND NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE EVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

I have bought 7 vehicles in the past 20 years or so, and for the first time I was actually impressed by the way this dealership handled it. "Crappy Service Department"
Went to Detour Cars because of bad credit. I was able to get a vehicle with no issues. The issue that I do have was the service department. We have a 2 year warranty and I called the service department leaving 4-5 voicemails in a span of a month with no luck. I ended up calling the sales department to complain and to ask if they can have someone call me right away. I did receive a call right away to schedule an appt for my car to be checked out. When I took the car they had it for 3 days and 2 of the 4 things were fixed only. This place is a good hour away so driving there isnt a walk in the park. They promised to fix something when I took the car but then tried telling me they never promised that. After more digging they did in fact locate the paperwork that statement the fix they promised to make. They said theyd call us back to schedule a time slot and I never heard back. Its been 2 months. I refuse to keep chasing the service department. Id rather pay someone to fix it than wait on them. I would NEVER recommend that place all because of the service deparement. I had never been so disspointed in a service department.

I recently moved to New England, so instead of keeping my two wheel drive car I decided it would be best to upgrade to something that could handle the weather up here. So after searching for "used car dealerships near me" this was one of the first that popped up, I saw a few SUVs online that I was interested in so i decided to check the place out. I went in with not so good credit and to my surprise i was approved almost immediately with $500 down. I was treated with respect and the salesmen Adrian I worked with was very friendly and helped me figure out what would work best for me and my budget.

Buying a car is not fun. Buying a used car is less fun. Buying a used car from Detour is, well let’s just say I’d rather eat a bowl of glass then repeat this experience. It was frustrating and unpredictable. On the phone the salesman “Joe Stack†actually referred to themselves as the good guys. His exact words were “We’re the in white hats." I was asked to render a down payment that was more than I had intended. I was told without that amount I would not be approved. I walked away. I received a call one week later, maybe two. "Weve been working with some new banks and in a position to sell you a vehicle now." They did. The car look halfway decent from the front. Joe disclosed some exterior imperfections. Some major and minor, but swore verbally and via email that all these issues would be replaced, buffed and painted upon delivery. We arranged a day for pick up. I called to confirm the day prior and guess what? "The car wont be ready in the morning but the afternoon." I was given a choice, I could pick it up at the original agreed upon time and return it for them to finish both the mechanical and cosmetic repairs or I could wait. I spoke to Nick, whom I believe was the owner. This part is unbelievable. Nick says, "You can wait to its finished or Im happy to give you your money back." Then he hung up on me. I chose to wait, as if I had a choice. On the day of delivery Joe walks in with a big cool-aid smile. "The car runs like a dream" he says, "Runs real tight." "Go take a look" he says to my wife. Strange, much of the cosmetic imperfections remained and the mechanical problem was present as well. "We had to order a special paint from the factory" he said. "It should be in by tomorrow. I will call you tomorrow." Guess what? He didnt call. In fact, he didnt call the next day or the day after that. I sent him an email and he responded by saying "Ill have service get in touch with you." Maybe it will all work out and Ill love the car. Who knows? I do know that I didnt love the buying experience.

Went all the way up there to look at a truck. My wife and I went in and I was told Joe would be with me and guy closes the door. Joe finally comes over and I ask him for the keys to look at the truck. Joe states he needs info first. Not knowing if we will even like the truck and not wanting to give info out for no reason I ask Joe is he will come show us the truck. He says no its his job to collect info. Thought he was a salesman not there to take my personal info. I have dealt with bad dealerships before and this place screams be careful

Bought a jetta last year and was told I wouldnt get a loan if I didnt get am extended warranty which ended up being 1500 dollars. Turns out warranty was optional from the beginning. Was sold the car with a faulty cruise control and a bent rim which they claim is not their problem and has to come out of my pocket to fix.had to call a bunch of times before I even got to speak to the owner who was not helpful and could care less! I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

bought a mini van, 3 days later it over heated on a long trip had it towed to them they said they fixed it it happenned three more times and then got repaired by my extended warranty that i bought, why didnt they pay to fix it and pass there mistake off to a warranty company, the car came back very dirty dont there mechanics see the grease they leave on the floors. i wouldnt recomend them to change the air in my tires

My wife and I went to 2 other dealers before going to Detour. We were treated like 2nd class citizens at the first 2 dealers due to poor credit that was the result of a job layoff a few years back. The salesman Bill treated us great and was super to deal with. The finance guy Nick got us approved in no time and we got a decent rate as well. Would recomend this place big time to my friends and family!

I am currently in the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I did my search on Cars.com, their prices came up very fair. However, after reading the fine print at the bottom of the ad, the price of the Jeep was actually $2,000.00 more than the price they list online. I am not sure how their price shows up this way on the website since it is not the real price of the Jeep. Once $2,000.00 is added to their "advertised" price, the price is not competitive. I have not been to the dealership so I cannot comment on their facility or vehicle quality.

I recently bought a car from here (July 2013) and would recommend this place to others. The salesman was nice, respectful, and up front. I needed a small repair to the vehicle about 2 weeks after the purchase and they fixed everything with no charge. Buying a car is not fun but Detour Cars made it a painless experience. After Finding a jeep Grand Cherokee online I called and asked about the vehicle. I drove an hour to check it out, and the price was 2000 dollars difference. which made the car more expensive than any others i had found a mile from my house. a complete waste of my time. Not to mention the car was sitting in the lot with 4 of the baldest tires i had ever see, a cracked mirror, and a cracked door. 0 for presentation!! All in all this dealership stunk, and it wasnt his cologne. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Went down to view a truck that they have online and they said that they have never seen it... Yet it is still being posted under their dealer website and cars.com. Putting up a nice vehicle just to bring people to their store is an awful thing to do, making the customer look "stupid" when you walk in, ask in front of other people in the office, and they respond with "Never seen it before." Poor way of doing buisness.

I made the worst mistake of my life buying from these people i needed a car ASAP and they promised it was a decent car i am a single mom and told them my situation they overchaged by 5000.00 and then threw in a warrenty for another 1400.00 i had nothing but problems with this car and they never helped me with any of it. dont go to them please

I was very pleased with Detour Cars in Danvers, MA. All the employees were very nice and approachable. They were not your typical sketchy car salesmen. Buying a car there was not pushed upon you. The car I got is in very good condition with a great price. I highly recommend going to Detour Cars if you are looking for a car.
"Deceptive Pricing - Bait And Switch"
Do not trust these guys. After searching for months and dealing with countless dealerships, Detour Autos is the only business that warrants a negative review. They deliberately switch the price offered online. Perhaps, even worse, is their dismissive attitude when I showed them proof of their "bait and switch" tactics. Needless to say, they give used car salesmen their bad reputation.

"Very Misleading"
The price listed on this website is not the price at the dealership. It is a 2,000 dollar difference once you get there. I went there drove 30 miles to find that out. They also claim to be a no haggle dealership. Seemed to be very dishonest. When asked about it the guy was rude and off putting. He told us it was on the website, which I brought a print out with me. Which was hidden in a convenient way. We ended up leaving and wasnt a great experience. It was very frustrating after driving all that way.

Had been in the market for a used mini cooper for some time and really couldnt find what i was looking for in my price range. Found a great mini at a great deal here. I was initially worried as my credit was not stellar but to my surprise i was approved within minutes. The staff here did a great job of slowly walking me through the process as i had not purchased a car in years, overall i felt very comfortable. It has now been a few months since my purchase here, but as i am getting my first oil change my mini still keeps me smiling! :)
