I am a woman that used to absolutely loathe the experience of buying a car but somehow had a great experience buying a 2016 Volkswagen Golf from Kyle (a fleet manager in DTLA) last week and thought he was one of the best sales persons my husband and I have ever dealt with. We’ve bought 3 different cars (Kia, Volvo and Mazda) in recent years so we’ve spent a lot of time with car dealership personnel. We found Kyle to be friendly, smart, experienced, straightforward and trustworthy in negotiating the ultimate price and it was even kind of fun. He took the time to figure out what car was a better fit for me, even if it meant not buying a more expensive model. To top that, even the meeting and document signing with the financial rep, Sarkis, was done relatively quickly and efficiently with clear explanations and if I chose not to select an option, Sarkis did not try and persuade me otherwise with anxiety provoking tactics as many finance guys are prone to do. It’s usually the case that whatever great rapport is developed with the sales person, that the mood quickly changes when you get to the finance person because they’re not often the most personable people in a dealership. Not so with Sarkis, who put us at ease with his kindness and his manner of easily explaining contract terms and was a pleasure to deal with.

I was looking to lease a new car and stopped in to the Volkswagen of Downtown L.A. late one night- around 7:30p.m. Moh was very polite and he asked me a few questions about how many miles I drive per day and what prices for a car I was looking into. I hate buying a new car and as a result, I procrastinated too long until my last car had 120K miles on it and the transmission suddenly gave out. Faced with a costly repair on a car with high mileage, I had too make a quick decision about whether to sink more money into it or bite the bullet and just get a new one. Moh was a consummate professional. He showed me several models, explained all the various features, arranged for me to drive a few of them and helped me find the perfect car for my needs. Agreed on all cash price in advance. Drove to dealer mid-afternoon Memorial Day. Checked out car, transaction approved. Then sat in the dealership waiting area for 2 hours before getting into credit. They also forced me to fill out a credit application and ran a credit report on me just to accept a cash transaction. They refused to accept my payment without a credit report. The sales manager was an ignorant, and not too bright guy who was used to pushing people around, and not too politely. Very unpleasant experience. John

Perry Makwana at Downtown LA Audio Volkswagon helped us find the car we needed with no pushy salesmen antics that you always hear about or have inevitably experienced in the past. He was honest straightforward and seemed to have an understanding of when we needed to discuss things alone and yet was there when we needed him to be.
