"Best Car-buying Experience Ive Had--thanks Steve"

I recently lost my VW in a car accident, and went into Colonial VW of Medford (where I previously had my car serviced) just to take a quick look at their used car inventory in the hopes of finding an inexpensive replacement. I met with Steve Suarez, who patiently listened to my entire wish list and promised he would help find me a car that met my needs. I had no plans at the time to commit to a sale; but Steve found me the perfect car--a 2015 Certified Pre-owned Passat with only 25K miles. I thought the price initially seemed a bit high; but he and his sales manager Toby were more than happy to work with me. Rather than act pushy or aggressive, they gave me ample time to consider the purchase. When I called back with additional questions, Steve happily searched for the answers and presented me with a further-improved price. At that point, it was a no-brainer for me, and Steve went above and beyond to complete the sale quickly and pleasantly. He even offered to come into work on one of his days off to be there for delivery of the car (an offer I couldnt let him take, I was happy to wait another day). I picked up my car earlier this morning, and truly feel great about the whole experience. On top of finding me exactly the car I wanted at a price I feel very good about, Steve approached all our interactions with a smile and friendly demeanor that put me entirely at ease. This was my first car purchase from VW Medford after leasing my last VW from another area dealer; and I couldnt recommend Steve or the Colonial VW of Medford team more. Really a terrific experience, especially given the unfortunate situation that brought me into the dealership in the first place, and Im so appreciative of all Steves help.

Did my research, called dealerships, visited lots- Colonial VW of Medford was by far the best. I researched a 50-mile radius; Colonial VW was the only store I found who advertised AND had multiple matches available. (I think dealerships use bait cars – not Colonial! They had 4 options within my parameters, pulled up side by side ready to go, for me to drive and compare!!!) I visited 3 different dealerships- Colonial Volkswagen of Medford had better condition of cars, selection of Certified Pre-Owned and overall price points. Someone answered my email right away. He answered all my questions and never pressured me to come in. My salesman was terrific! I had a million questions and Steve answered every one. He never made me feel pressured. After everything was finalized, I realized I lost the title for my trade- Derek was such a huge help showing me which forms I needed, he even filled them out for me! My only complaint is they need sunshades - I think I got a tan inside. I was able to find a certified Pre-Owned with a VW warranty for another 2 years, with a fair-trade value on my car and a very competitive price on theirs – I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Steve and Derek at Colonial VW.

"Complete Letdown"

1-1-15 I purchased a 2012 vw gli and I signed and purchased the car and came to pick it up and the rims had been painted and I was not informed. I bought the car because I loved the way it was and the rims had been black and chrome and when I arrived they were silver. the salesman and manager informed there were scratches so they decided to paid which they did not discuss with me. they would not replace the rims. furthermore the paint started peeling off and I brought back 3 times before they finally had them painted and baked on. better but still not what I paid and wanted. then I brought the car in to have them painted and my doors had been damaged so they sent to car to be repaired. I returned to get car and noticed when I got home that the doors did not match I have metallic black and the new paint was just black and was clearly noticeable and they would not send back to have it fixed they said I would have to deal with the auto body shop. now I had brought the car in a year ago for noise in my rear end and felt a sway I was informed they could not find an issue and now I have 2 scalloped tires and a broken coil spring which Im being told is not covered under my warranty they sold me for $2500 and a tire warranty I paid $1500 for. when I asked for help they said why dont I just trade it in since I dont like it which I feel is not ok to say. I dont feel I have asked for a lot just what I paid for. also I feel the need to state the employees Ive dealt with have been pretty nice but that does not fix my car.

This review is definitely long overdue but my amazing experience with Colonial VW in Medford must be shared. I purchased my 2013 Tiguan, which I absolutely love, back in September. We went here to buy a used Tiguan because their website listed the year/mileage/color we wanted. We agreed to repairs and a price. They only did two out of the three repairs they promised and we waited twice as long to receive the car as they agreed to. They never called us with any updates, we always had to follow up with them and they never had answers in a timely manner. Extremely poor customer service from the two sales people we dealt with. The gentleman working Finance was good to work with however, but again we had to contact him when we were told by sales he would contact us. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Spend the time to drive somewhere else.

I am on my 3rd Passat (1999, 2010 & 2013), I have been to many VW Dealers for service over the years, and I cannot say enough good things about Colonial VW of Medford. Their new facility is clean, customer friendly and the techs are well trained and they get it right the first time! I have been using them since about 2005 and have never had to return for a repeat visit on a repair. They are honorable, always ask before repairing a part and have the price of the repair ready for you before you approve the fix. Tom has been my Service Advisor for many many years and is alway pleasant, knowledgable and understanding. I just wish there was a 6th star for this dealerships Service Department because they are above all the rest!

I just leased a 2016 Jetta 6 speed manual 2.0 GLI that is exactly what I wanted. Both Dan and Jason worked the phones to find me the car and get it up here from PA, which was not an easy feat. They were both flexible and transparent throughout the process. Things have surely changed form the old days of buying a car as there are no "tactics" to deal with.
