We were very unhappy with the service we received at Fred Beans Subaru. We purchased a used car and had an appointment with the salesman to process the papers and pick up the car. The papers were not prepared, the car had not been detailed and was not on the premises, and the salesman had to wait 30 minutes to ask the manager if he could take a car off the lot to drive and pick up the car we had purchased! The salesman also misled us about the Gold Star warranty which they were selling for the car. the final straw was waiting 45 minutes to talk to the person who handled the financial papers, we were paying cash for the car. I would not recommend buying a car at this dealership.

My experience purchasing a vehicle at Fred Beans Subaru was excellent. My vehicle search began on-line to identify a vehicle that met my needs and that was a Subaru Outback with “Eye-Sightâ€. After visiting several dealers, I was most impressed with this dealership and our sales representative (Randy). One of the things that impressed me the most was the kind and friendly sales, without the pressured sales tactics you typically get at most car dealerships. Randy was knowledgeable and helped me with all of my questions. The price that I paid for my vehicle was also excellent. I did price comparison shopping on-line through “True Carâ€, “Edmunds†and “Consumer Reportsâ€. Although Fred Beans did not have the absolute lowest price, they were able to match all of the on-line quotes provided to me. The friendly atmosphere convinced me to go with Fred Beans. Lastly, the technical support is outstanding. As you may be aware, the Subaru Outback is loaded with very advanced safety features that include the “Eye-Sight Driver Assist Technologyâ€. One would think that all of the advanced technology in the car might be difficult to understand; However, the delivery coordinator (Seth, AKA: Professor Seth) was great at explaining the entire vehicle. He has also invited me back to go over any additional questions. To sum up, my experience at Fred Beans Subaru was great and I would highly recommend this dealership, the sales personnel and the technical support staff to anyone in the market for a new car. Frank

After inquiring about a 2014 Subaru WRX that I had seen online and emailing a salesperson named Jennifer (who was also extremely helpful and professional) back and forth, I had decided to make the trip to Doylstown, PA from NY with my mother to check out the car. Once we arrived we were immediately greeted on the sales floor by Joshua who was a pleasure. He then directed us to Daniel P. and it was all uphill from there. Daniel was very professional and pleasant to deal with. As a first time car buyer I didnt know what to expect but Daniel made it easy and was not pushy in the slightest. I felt no pressure in making my decision and he helped me a lot with all the paperwork everything else that I needed. After the test drive and some further discussion I decided to pull the trigger and purchase the vehicle as soon as I was able. The three hour drive from New York was well worth it and I would definitely recommend Fred Beans Subaru and Daniel P. to anyone that I know in NY that would be willing to make the trip. Fair pricing and excellent service make it worth the while!

My cell phone got lodged in the latch of the central dashboard storage compartment, making it impossible for me to open the compartment. Ed Kirkwood told me to bring it right over since he knew how important it is to have ones cell phone for emergencies. I was envisioning the removal of the entire dashboard to get that thing open! But, the service department was prepared with a special tool. In 15 seconds the door was open - without damage to anything - and I was happy camper! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We just purchased a CPO Forrester Limited with 4000 miles on it that was used for when customers had to leave their car at the shop for repairs. It was a loaner car. The buying process was much better than the normal process where there seems to be high pressure and mystery as to the pricing. Our sales associate was very low key, he explained things very clearly and answered all our questions. I highly recommend our associate and this dealership to anyone who wants a great car at a fair price.

My husband and I were looking to upgrade from our 12 year old 2 door car to a newer, more reliable, and larger 4 door. Keith helped convince us that an SUV was the way to go. We test drove a 2014 Forester and loved it! He was very helpful and answered all of our questions. After we went and test drove a few other SUVs, we came back to purchase the 2014 Forester. "Not Completely Satisfied"
Our problem is not with dealership. We found the dealership to be very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. No high pressure. Our complaint is with the Legacy we purchased. We started with an Imprezza. We found it a bit small and we didnt like how it rode really bumpy. We then went to a base model Legacy took test drive and purchased it. It cost us money to do this and did not get any deal so to speak and we had to put quite a bit of money down. But that is not the issue. What we are upset about is how this car handles the road. The car is very bouncy and though roads are not in good shape it bangs over bumps(as though the tires go deep in ruts). Also at times is has a shimmy when we turn a corner and sometimes just on the road. We have had Beans check this car 2x now. They say everything is normal. Last time we took another drive and again they say everything OK but maybe tires rims? may be a bit tight. We think there is something else going on but are at a loss as to what to do.. Every time we address an issue the dealership calls to see if our experience was a wonderful one. If not we should call or send email to let them know. We have done this but did not get a response to emails. Point of interest....the overall appearence of the car and the safety of it is well within our satisfaction. We just want something done about how it handles the road so it rides smoother. We are retired and have paid a lot of money for this car..which may be last one we can buy....I hope we can get a solution so we can recommend Subaru to others....right now I would say be very sure before you buy. Hope this review gets us a solution to this issue.

saw a car online that interested me, messaged the dealership, Crystal (i think that was the name of the internet sales representative) got right back to me, then found the car, set it aside on hold for me until i got there...when my wife and i arrived, i saw the car and immediately stopped to look at it, was then within a minute, met by Keith...we went inside, talked about everything, test drove it and was very happy with it. Keith was very friendly and helpful and it was a very pleasant experience dealing with him...albeit, this was only a used car (2007), he was more than willing to spend as long as it took for my wife and i to decide, and we did buy the car on the spot, drove it home that night. the next time i am in the market for a car, Keith will be my first call :)

"Horrific Experience At Fred Beans Subaru"
This was without a doubt one of the worst car buying experiences I have ever had when I shopped a used Subaru Tribeca at Fred Beans Subaru. My wife and I showed up there at around 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon to look at a Tribeca. We stood outside for about 15 minutes looking at the vehicle until we finally went inside to get help. I had assumed it was just they were busy but there were several salespeople sitting there doing nothing. There were two women that were sitting at their desks and would not even look at us. We awkwardly stood there with our 3-year old milling around a car we had no interest in looking at in hopes someone would at least address us. A few more awkward minutes go by and finally someone asks us if we are being helped. We told him we were not and mentioned why we were there. He did not introduce himself and did not even acknowledge my wife being there. I stayed in the showroom while he got the car for her to stay with my daughter. They took the car out for a test drive. During the time they were gone not even a single person looked at us. Not a wave or a smile. The entire staff I encountered seemed arrogant and rude. When they got back I asked if she liked and she did but was really put off by the dealership thus far. I had told the salesman that we had a trade and that I was fully aware that we were going to be "upside down" in it going into it. After almost an hour of waiting they finally appraised our vehicle. Mind you, for a Saturday this was not busy. After they got that the saleman came back with numbers on the vehicle. The worksheet came back with nothing but a down payment and a monthly number. I asked how did they arrive at this number (an uncompetitive number that I quickly figured out the details with a car payment calculator). What was the total we were financing, how much for our vehicle, what was the ARP (indicated that we have very good credit). He had no answers for any of this. I asked him to please get this info for me. He came back with the payment lower because the term was extended. He still was not even telling me how much we were paying for the vehicle. I had asked to speak to whomever was providing this info as I am not going to consider buying a car that I dont even have disclosed what I am paying for. He came back once again and told me the ARP. I just stared at him in shock because its like he didnt even listen to my request to speak to a manger. I just told him I guess you guys are not interested in selling the car and your manager is not even trying to speak to me. At that point we left without anyone coming over to us or even trying to sell us a car. I cant begin to tell people what a total failure this was from top to bottom for this dealership. I dont even blame the salesman as he told us he was new. I blame his supervisors who were too lazy to even come out and introduce themselves to us. The vehicle they had was on there lot for about 75 days. They had a buyer who was ready to buy. I told them I was a Subaru guy that has an Outback and even a Subaru SVX as a secondary car and wanted to get my wife one too. They didnt have the decency to even come out and explain we can sell the car for X, give you Y for your car, and you pay Z. Its business so it wont always work out for both sides but these guys didnt even try. I had try to contact their GM via the Dealer Rater site. I got no reply so in 3 days I tried again through their website and got no reply either. I am stunned this place is so highly rated here. These guys are one of the worst dealers I ever dealt with on every level. They did everything wrong a dealer can do. On a related note, I went to their Nissan dealership the following week and bought a vehicle from them. We were treated with respect and made a fair deal. They took our trade and the asking prices were the same on a similar vehicle. Fred Beans Subaru doesnt care at all.

He found a vehicle that met her needs and took the time to make sure she was comfortable with the car and its features - all with a low-key, no pressure attitude. I had been looking online at 2016 Subaru Legacy models for some time and had test drove one at a local dealer. Fred Beans is about a 40 minute drive from where I live, but I checked out their website anyway and sent an email to inquire about a new car on their lot. They quickly responded and we setup a time to meet. The salesman I worked with was Danny Pavone and he was very friendly and took the time to explain all the features of the car I was interested in. I did buy the car that day but unfortunately when I got home I noticed some damage underneath the front bumper that apparently occurred when the car was being unloaded at the dealer. I immediately contacted them and arranged to have the car repaired at the same time I was having a few extra options installed. They apologized that they hadnt noticed the damage and provided me with a very nice 2016 Subaru Outback to use while my car was in the shop. They also said they were looking into how the cars are being unloaded to make sure it wouldnt happen to another car. When my car was ready, Danny called and delivered the car right to my front door at 7:30 in the morning before I went to work thereby saving me the 40 minute drive to pick up the car. The service was great and Im very happy with my new car. Even though Fred Beans is a bit far for me, I would definitely recommend their dealership.

All of the employees at Fred Beans Subaru in Doylestown Pa, seem great. I would especially like to give a huge shout out/ recommendation to Josh Landau! I stopped by last night looking to get a new car, he asked exactly what I was looking for and immediately found everything i wanted. At first it didnt seem possible for me to get the financing that was needed, as I have no credit history, when I heard the news it was absolutely a sinking feeling. Later that evening, literally about an hour later, Josh Landau called my cell phone. He told me he was over at the special financing building doing everything he could to get me into the car that I really liked. After a few hours of going back and forth ( please keep in mind again, I had no credit history, no car to trade in, and no equity to put down) he called me back with great news, he could get me into the car, and right around the payment price I was hoping to get! Josh Landau is a godsend! He spent hours going out of his way for me, also he is truly an enjoyable person to be around. The entire time looking we spent also laughing and sharing stories. It was less of a customer salesman experience as it was hanging out with a friend. An added plus is he also works on cars himself, so he truly knows what hes talking about. I would highly recommend Fred Beans Subaru, but even more so I would recommend Josh Landau to help you no matter what Fred Beans dealership youre at in the Doylestown area!

I pretty much knew exactly what I wanted walking in, but had a terrible experience at the Subaru dealer near my home and didnt want to buy there. I came in to Fred Beans at the very end of the night, and they stayed an hour past closing to make sure I got all the attention and information we needed. The car I wanted was not on the lot, but they had one coming in the following month. We made a deal I was very happy with without a bunch of "let me go talk to my manager" baloney, the car came in just when promised, and just as promised. FInance and my super helpful salesman Danny P. were quick to respond to all my questions while we were waiting for the car to come in, and after the sale as well. Friendly and low pressure throughout. So glad we made the drive to Doylestown!

I purchased a 2015 Subaru Outback on 12-12-2014 and paid cash (no financing). From the beginning of the transaction I told the sales representative that the new car was to be titled in my name only which is, “Michael P Waltonâ€. I made a deposit with my credit card issued to “Michael P Waltonâ€. I provided various forms of photo ID all with “Michael P Waltonâ€. I made the final payment by a check from my checking account “Michael P Waltonâ€. I provided my insurance information and cards in the name of “Michael P Waltonâ€. All payments have been cashed and received without a problem. When I went to pick up the car, and complete the transaction, I saw that they had added my wife’s name to the title and that my middle initial was listed as “J†and not “Pâ€. I told them about the error and they said it was because my drivers license had my middle initial listed as “Jâ€. I explained that you do not need a drivers license to purchase a car and have it Titled to you. All you need is a residence, photo ID and the money to make payment. I also mentioned that my wife’s name was not on my drivers license. I told them that I would not take delivery unless they corrected the error. No problem they told me, as the manager took out his pen and changed the “J†to a “P†and he assured me that my wife’s name would be removed. Nineteen days later I find out that the car is titled Michael J Walton with my wife’s name is also on the title. Now they tell me that I will have to provide several forms of proof of identification and have Harrisburg change my drivers license which I have had for 54 years without a problem. I am almost 70 years old and have owned and purchased a dozen cars in my lifetime all with the same drivers license and never had a problem with the title. The credit card has paid, the check has cleared, the sale is completed, the profits made and the commissions distributed, so I guess this is now my problem. My only mistake was to deal with Fred Beans Subaru of Doylestown. I see many good evaluations here on this page. I am glad their experience went so well. I also thought that mine went well from December 12th to December 30th. Sometimes a good deal goes bad, but they do not have to if the customer matters. Michael P Walton
