"As Advertised?"
Bernie advertised a 2002 Jeep Cherokee as having new brakes. After test driving the vehicle he stated, "the brakes are like new". I then asked if he was going to put new brakes on the vehicle and he stated, "only if theyre below 50%". Now, I understand that concept, but dont advertise as having new brakes if they arent on the vehicle. Bernie ended up putting new front brakes on the car before picking the vehicle up, but after I asked several times. He also said clean car fax, but when I asked for it he stated, " I dont do car fax for vehicles over 10 yrs old". Lastly, once I got the car home the abs light came on and when I called Bernie about it he didnt return my call or text. I finally got a hold of him and told him the abs light fixed itself. I mention this because he advertises as the customer comes first, but only before you pay him. Once you pay he doesnt remember your name. On the plus side Bernie does make the purchase an easy process and the vehicle was clean, rust free and will make a great first car for my daughter. Wish the review could be 100% because Bernie does seem like a really nice guy, but I have to be honest about my review.

Wow. After reading all the reviews, I admit I was skeptical. How can a used car dealer be all the things people are claiming? An excellent entry level luxury sports sedan in remarkably pristine condition caught my eye as I was passing Bernies the other evening. I took a preliminary test drive with Bernie, who had literally just gotten the car in stock. The one issue with the car during the test drive was completely fixed early the next morning. Very impressive indeed with how quickly Bernie had the issue fixed. That said, I was shopping this car for my wife who had a specific new car in mind from the beginning so unfortunately was not even able to have her test drive this car, as she had her heart set on a particular small utility vehicle. In any event, although I did not purchase this particular vehicle for my wife, Bernie will be on my short list when Im in the market for a good quality and fairly priced used vehicle for myself, in no small part because he impressed me with his honesty and willingness to go the extra mile to please his customers.

I had been looking for another PT Cruiser to replace the one I bought new 10 years ago. Bernie had one that was a perfect match. He was upfront about its history and no pressure in his approach. Because of its mileage, he replaced the timing belt and water pump and put new tires on it before he put it on his lot. Most dealers would sell it at that mileage "as is". When he was doing the safety inspection after we closed the deal, he replaced the front brakes because the wear was uneven. And when I had a small problem after a half day of driving, he took it in and fixed it immediately. Bernie was easy to deal with and responsive when the finance company needed some paperwork. I would definitely see him again for another car.
