Worked on my 2015 wrx, took a month and a half to do an engine tear down. During this whole process they never updated me with progress, I had to call each time. When they had finished the engine tear down they determined I needed a new shortblock which they had quoted me at 9,000 for the repair. Shortly after deciding to go forward with the repair they now requote me for 12,500!! When I ask why it was raised 3,500 more they said that they must have miscalculated and that I would be better of going to another shop to have the work done. I said that it would make the most sense to have my car repaired there since they had already been working on it, again they suggested going to another shop to have My car repaired. This seemed odd that a car dealership that is supposed to specialize in subarus didnt want to help a customer and get out of doing the repair. This is when I decide to notify corporate of whats been going on, and I decide to have my car towed out of the shop. I did some research and find a dealership in New Hampshire that specializes in subaru repairs. When working on my car they discover that there was missing nuts and bolts for the engine and missing fuel lines. Also, there were nuts and bolts from a 1992 Subaru Impreza that they threw in a box with my disembled engine block. I cant believe any dealership would operate in this kind of manner, and Im surprised they believe they can get away such carelessness and lack of respect for customers.

This was my first time buying a brand new car and I of course was anxious about it. Although I had a great experience buying my car, the follow up since has been way less than sufficient. Nearly two days after buying it I felt the car needed an alignment. When I called, I was told that I was calling the wrong place for the issue. Next, we hadnt had the car 6 months and there was an engine issue. Car wouldnt go more than 20 mph. They did not stand by the first fix of this issue, then 4 months later it happened again. They finally sent it to a Chevy dealer the second time. And now today, the THIRD time it happened to my car in just under 2 years of owning it, I call and they put someone in service on the phone, he was less than helpful and passed me off as the had "no record" of my car or having it fixed. It is flippin pathetic.

Easy experience with this dealership. I wandered into the lot without any sales pressure. I had already done my homework on the Legacy, so didnt need the sales pitch. My salesman Roger helped with a few detailed questions regarding the Eyesight System. Price negotiations were fairly simple since I already had other price quotes. Also adding extra options was fairly simple. Delivery was quick even though I added several extra options. Terra was very helpful in explaining all the new technology that the Legacy came with and my new options. The only negative would be no factory privacy glass. Already had them tinted. Finding a manual transmission on something above a base model car is like looking for hens teeth but I managed to locate one in perfect condition 3 hours away at Steve Lewis Subaru. Called and spoke to Glen Reen in sales and told him I was interested in the car but it would take me a while to get there. Glen had the car washed, prepped and sitting out front when we arrived. I knew at first sight that the car had been well-cared for (all of the service on the car was done at this dealership). Glen set us up for a great test drive after showing all of the features of the car and we completed the deal within an hour. Throughout the process, Glen never pushed us to purchase extras but let us know what might interest us, all the while getting us water and giving us time to think things over in private. Everyone I met at Steve Lewis Subaru was respectful and attentive. I was very surprised when Shayne offered to have my used car delivered right to my home at a time that worked with my schedule. Paul was great to work with and provided me with a fun experience and a wonderful test drive. I was disappointed that when my car was delivered the manual was missing, there was no front license plate holder (which in CT is required by law in order to drive the car), and the windshield washer fluid was not full. While the service department did clean up the car prior to delivery I still spent 6-10 hours cleaning the car inside and out immediately following delivery. The sales experience was definitely a bight spot in dealing with this dealership, but I was very underwhelmed with the condition of the delivered vehicle and led me to give this dealership an overall rating of average.

I have had two separate experiences with Steve Lewis Subaru and left satisfied both times. With my first experience, I called them feeling pretty helpless. I was going through a divorce and there were things on my credit report due to that. In the past, I had gone to a completely different dealership and had been with them for about 10 years. They were not able to help me, the banks were not able to help me and other dealerships were unable to help me. This put me in a very difficult and stressful position as I had no vehicle and 2 children. To be honest, Im not sure what made me call Steve Lewis, maybe it was simply because Subarus are excellent, reliable vehicles. Especially, if you live in New England. Anyhow, I called them and explained my situation. They didnt play any games. They didnt make promises they couldnt keep. They didnt even have me come down to the dealership at first. They wanted to make sure they could help me before I came down. They didnt want to waste my time if they couldnt help me. However, they were able to help me and got me into a really great vehicle at that. I went down twice. One to test drive the car and the other to fill out the loan paperwork and drive my new vehicle home. I can not tell you how much stress they took off of me that day. But I can tell you that, when I got home that day, I cried because they gave me some relief. The second experience I had, I was in a tough spot again. Our family changed drastically and we needed a bigger vehicle. However, I was stuck in a lease. None of that was a problem for them at Steve Lewis. They got me into a new vehicle at a great price and my whole family can fit in one vehicle. I also, had them do me a favor after I already had my new vehicle. This may sound silly to some but we had a lot of great memories my old Subaru and I forgot to take a picture of it to put in our memory box. So Jared, in sales whom I worked with, set me a picture of my old vehicle so we could put it in our memory box. Needless to say, I will be going back the next time I need a vehicle.

After doing research online I was able to communicate with Jesse by email and schedule a time to check out a used Forester. He was accommodating and stayed late to "close the deal." The downside of the experience was that the car was overpriced and there was no room for negotiation. If I had not felt like I needed something quickly I probably would have walked away. However, I feel like I am driving something safe and reliable which is a relief for me. I returned when the car was still under warranty to have two issues addressed and did not feel like I got good customer service from the sales department. one of the problems was repaired to my satisfaction, but the service department dismissed my other concern out of hand so that was a 50-50 situation. I am not sure I would go to this dealer again to purchase another vehicle.

The weather was a warm and sunny day end of Jan 2016, and turned out to be a happy one for us at Steve Lewis Subaru. We were immediately greeted with a friendly "hello" from Salesperson Dan Marques. Dan has a pleasant personality and worked with us to answer our questions relating to a Subaru Outback that we had in mind to purchase. After a test drive and more "chatting" we made a final decision to purchase the Outback, as it was indeed what all the reviews raved about. The first time I became acquainted with Steve Lewis Subaru was on a return from a road trip. My check oil lamp had come on. Their service dept was already closed, but they put a free quart of oil in my car anyway. I was impressed! A few months ago, I stopped by Steve Lewis to see about getting a new Impreza. Larry Flakes took me under his wing and quickly and respectfully made me a super offer. The only reason I did not take it was because I decided to wait for a 2016 model. When the 2016s became available, I returned to Steve Lewis. This time the wonderfully friendly and efficient Tyler Griswold was the one to make me a fabulous offer. I was given an incredible quote without having to haggle and my trade-in offer was right where I was hoping it would be. Jon Kubik took care of the paperwork with much patience for all of my questions. I never felt rushed! And then, when it came time to pick-up my car, sweet Julie Fialho provided an enthusiastic introduction to my car that just enhanced my excitement at getting it. She even cleaned my old mats!!! A nice touch that was much appreciated. Without any hesitation, I urge all readers of my review who are in the market for a new Subaru to check out Steve Lewis Subaru. I went in just to look at a few cars to get an idea of prices and such and ended up leaving with a brand new Subaru Impreza hatchback which was exactly what I wanted (except way better!)!! It is easy to give high marks to a dealership when the car is new. The test is when the car needs servicing. Steve Lewis makes it as painless as is possible to deal with a car that needs work. Will Lamb is extraordinary in how he provides customer service. He was relentless in trouble shooting an intermittent problem and never made us feel like we were a bother. When servicing has required a loaner car, he has provided one that meets our special needs without even being asked to do so. Dave, his head mechanic, stayed late on a Saturday to help with a problem so we could drive our car home. We feel confident of the work done. The dealership provides a shuttle for customers who wish to shop while their car is serviced. And the waiting room is clean, comfortable and stocked with delicious snacks. Buying a new car is always a daunting experience for me, but the Steve Lewis employees worked very hard to make it a pleasant one. It was a pleasure to work with Whitney Bush. It took me six months to decide between an Outback and a Forester, but Whitney was always patient and helpful throughout this painful process!
