"Not Making Up For The Experience I Went Through"
As a follow on - they did decide to certify the car (which I honestly thought it was already), which gives an extension to the warranty and offered my first service and tire rotation for free. So that was something. However, I also got a call from the finance dept just today - Almost 1 month post purchase to say they had "accidentally" shredded my loan application and I needed to resign the paperwork. Really? Ill up to 1 star - but no more.
"Nightmare Buying Experience"
My car buying experience with this dealership has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I wanted to trade in a lease vehicle I had - and buy a certified used car. I opted for a 15 Honda Pilot and was told it was a touring and had everything I was looking for. I left a deposit, and the next day I got a call saying they had made a mistake on the price and it was actually $2000 more than the price I agreed to pay. I said no thanks. After coming back to me several times trying to get me to pay more they gave me the car for the original price I agreed to pay. When I went to pick up the car - it was not the one I had been told. It was a base model, not the touring, and had none of the features I wanted. And it had not been detailed properly. It was dirty inside. I refused to take off the lot. So then they found me a car that was actually what I was looking for - but it was $4000 more. We negotiated a new price based on it having lower miles, etc. and I agreed to pick it up on a Friday and told them it had to be registered and ready to go, as I was leaving on a business trip for 3 weeks. Friday rolls around, I go to pick up the car, and its not registered and inspected. Mike E. assures me that he will take care of while Im gone - pick it up at my house - re-detail it, fill up the tank, register, etc. Well Im 2 weeks into my business trip abroad, and get a call from my insurance company saying the car has not been registered. Shocking - they never came to do it. Take your business elsewhere. Now I have to fight with another "Sales Manager" - to get my car done before I get home. Ridiculous. This is the 6th car I have purchased from them - and I will never, ever, ever, purchase another - they deserve zero stars.

I went to Westborough Honda Service after have a bit of bad experience with Bernardi Honda when during my regular service (oil and filter change) they forgot to tighten the engine oil drain screw/gasket and had my oil drip slowly when I noticed it on my garage floor. The funny thing is that I did this service with Bernardi Honda on Saturday 8/5/17. Carelessness because of them would have fried my engine. Thanks to Matt @ Westborough Herbs Honda at service department who I went to visit on Sunday 8/6/17 with no appointment scheduled, readily helped me out and they fixed the oil leak and tightened the screw! Phew! I am so thankful that words cannot describe. I will be coming for my future service with Herbs Honda! Sorry Bernardi Honda, you lost your customer!

This was out 5th or 6th purchase at Herb Chambers Honda in Westborough, MA. Herb Chambers knows how to treat its employees and customers with fairness and with class. Unlike some other local dealerships, which try other techniques which are not appropriate, Herb Chambers is up front with pricing for both new sales and trades. The dealership is comfortable, clean, and is soon getting a newer refreshed look, although it really does not need it. We like servicing our cars there because it is fast, friendly, and convenient, with great hours of operation and convenient perks inside as you wait. There is also a great shuttle service for local areas. All in all, on a scale of 1-10, I give Herb Chambers Honda in Westborough a 10-plus.
"Do Not Trust What They Said!"
Last time I drove my car in because of the keyless remote access problem that wont work remotely. They charged me $120 diagnose the issues, and told me that I need to replace the keyness remote controller in the car, which will cost me $550. I paid the Diagnose fee and walk out the door. During a oil change one day in a local shop and mentioned the problem without telling them Herb chambers diagnose result. THEY SIMPLY REPLACE A FUSE IN THE FUSE BOX AND SOLVE THE WHOLE PROBLEM! THATS $25 INSTEAD OF $550. Before the keyless access issue, I done my 30k maintenance in Herb chambers too, they tried to told me all the problems that doesnt any sense. The facilities there are getting tips from selling to you the things with extra price or the thing that you dont even need. stay away from this dealship!
"Miserable Experience"
My experience with Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough was miserable. What should have taken an hour took >four hours. Salesperson was nice enough, and helpful enough, but had zero respect for my time. He never asked: How are you for time? Do you need the restroom? Its dinner time, can we have some food brought in for you or do you want to leave and go eat? It was just one thing after the other, most of them involving relentless upselling. A commercial for car wax? Seriously? And the old "the salesman is on YOUR side" routine...what a farce. Just more time wasted as the salesman travels back and forth between me and the dealerships decision maker. Process did not improve when I was herded over to the financing person. More relentless upselling, and even though he said twice "I want to get you out of here in a reasonable amount of time" he continued to waste my time. Relentless upselling of extended warranty products and oh yeah, the car wax thing AGAIN. Finally, its time to pick up the car, and, without asking me if I have time to speak to him, I get herded over to see "the sales manager" who asks how the buying experience was. Ah, more wasted time. I told him I didnt feel like I was treated like a professional or treated with any respect for my time, and I mentioned the car wax commercial specifically. His response was "We have to do that." Actually, no, you dont "have to." Whatever arrangement Herb Chambers made with Simonize is none of my concern. Just another way Herb Chambers treated me like a mark instead of a customer. I realized that this person wasnt there to listen to me, but rather was there to justify all of the time wasting nonsense they had put me through, and therefore was just wasting even more of my time. Now, lets talk about the follow-up phone calls and emails I got. Phone call from Erica, "internet sales manager." She never identified herself or Herb Chambers, she just called me by my first name and asked "Is this a good time?" Not knowing who I was speaking with because she never identified herself, I responded "That depends." At that point, she hung up on me. She then sent me an email asking me to give her a phone number so that she could reach me "right now." Because her time is valuable and, obviously, mine is not. Then I got another email, asking for feedback on my "service appointment." I responded that my last service appointment at Herb Chambers had been in April. She responded "oh, I meant the service appointment where you got your new car inspected." Thats a "service appointment"? News to me. I did buy the car, and I kind of like the car. But I would never go back to Herb Chambers, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

From the first phone call to Honda of Westborough and speaking with Rob Phillipo, and the greeting I got when I entered the dealership, I knew this was the place to be to trade in my old vehicles and purchase a new vehicle! My new car sales associate Tyler was such a gentleman and personable. Both he and Rob went out of their way to make me feel comfortable during all of my questions and made sure I did not have any questions unanswered. I purchased my dream vehicle from them - a brand new Honda CRV EX L NAV, as they satisfied this purchase to the very best one around! No other dealership has such trained individuals as those I have just mentioned - always putting the customer first and trying to satisfy them, as well make a deal for Herb Chambers Dealership. I had been looking for a new car for the last 3 months and had done a lot of research and been to many other dealers, but was never satisfied as I was on Tuesday! I am telling everyone about the fantastic experience I had at Herb Chambers in Westborough as well as the ease and transition of the financial part of the purchase with Toan. We just purchased a 2013 Ford Explorer XLT from this dealership. The process was devoid of any pressure and was a pleasant experience. They gave me a fair price for the trade in of my 2007 BMW 328xi with over 131k. The price for the Ford was very reasonable. Our salesman Paul Scannell was great to deal with as was Bill the Finance Mng. They took care of everything for us. It was a great experience and we look forward to many happy miles in our new vehicle.

Ive been looking for a replacement for my 2006CRV which got crunched about a month ago:( So Ive had a good amount of time to shop around online and to ask a lot of questions. A close friend bought her CRV at Honda Westborough after looking at several dealerships near us, and chose this one because they gave a great deal and were as she said, the best!". So I sent an internet inquiry and Tia was wonderful, and I got a GREAT quote on the 2016 CRV, but she couldnt be there the morning I went to look at it...thats when I met Sean Schurman. I came in ready to buy one of two cars I was going to look at, and Sean made it happen. Color is a big thing with me, and I was trying to decide between the white and Mountain Air but the white had been sold the night before! So I test drove the Mountain Air, and Sean then took me up to the lot so I could see it beside a white one, though with different trim...we looked at all kinds of colors and in the end I was reassured that the Mountain Air was for me. Sean was so patient and accommodating! And we had fun chatting and exploring the lot, I wasnt stressed at all! He knew I had a limited time and had to get to work, so he moved the process along, was incredibly efficient and I left on time with a lovely new car...I couldnt be happier. If someone asks me, like I asked my friend, Id definitely say, go see Sean!.

Excellent buying experience, Ive purchased from many Herb Chambers dealers in the last 12 or so years and this was probably the easiest purchase to date. Yury was terrific, he listened to what I needed and helped to get me a good deal on a new Fit lease. I was able to move out of one lease and into another with minimal effort on my part. I do want to admit I am not the easiest customer, I expect a lot from salesperson and Yury exceeded my expectations. I am very impressed with my experience and I pick up my new car same day! Dont hesitate to go in and ask for Yury for all your Honda needs!

I made an appointment at 6pm through cars.com to see a car the next morning at 10am. I received a call in the morning from Herb Chambers to confirm that I knew where to go and to check to see if I was on time. When I arrived the car was out front and ready to go. From the moment I arrived I was never pressured by anyone to buy a car. The entire process was relaxing. I did end up buying the car. I received a fair price on the car and on my trade-in. I already had financing lined up and that was fine with them. Again never pressured into financing through them. The process was quick and easy as they had an agreement with my credit union so there was no back and forth. Their finance person was able to act as my credit union so they had all the correct paperwork on file already. Made it quick and easy.

I went to Herb Chambers in Westboro on 2/8/16 to look at used SUVs. As I drove onto the lot it had started to snow. The salesman came out to my car and asked what I wanted. I said I was looking for SUVs. He said "How much do you want to spend". I said I am not sure and if there was a good deal I would be interested in buying. He said "ahhh no, no used SUVs" and waived me off the lot. I bought my last two used cars there and the service was adequate ( no follow up) I will and have mentioned my experience and will continue to. herb, they really dropped the ball on this one.

My experience in this dealership has been very comforting. While my vehicle was getting serviced they offered me a free shuttle service that goes out to 10 miles! I was able to do some holiday shopping while I waited it was perfect. The most important fact about this experience is how I was told what my vehicle was going to be doing step by step. To me a great customer service agent goes a long way I would prefer to pay for great service then Bad. I will continue to visit Herb Chambers Westborough. Thanks for the great service!

I always thought that buying a new car ranks slightly below undergoing dental surgery without anesthesia. So you can imagine my surprise when I walked away from this dealership with a lovely brand new 2015 Civic at a very good price, and a smile. Negotiating a car deal with Dexter and Jim was a great experience, these guys were very fun to work with and were willing to listen and meet my needs as a prospective car buyer. The entire process did not take terribly long, was easy and simple, and walking away with a car the same day is very rewarding. I would recommend this sales team to anyone looking to buy a vehicle.

My journey of finding a new Honda CR-V started from an extensive research on the internet to find a good dealer who is willing to work with me to get me the best car at a price that I was most comfortable with. I received quotes from multiple dealers near & far to my location after a couple other dealership visits, I received an excellent quote for the exact car I was looking for with all the minute details covered from Lindsey Mastromattero which prompted my visit to Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough. There I met with a fabulous salesperson Mr. Matthew Strong who was patient & professional to work with me for my vehicle needs. After a few minutes talking to him and viewing the car of my choice I was confident to make a decision to get the car from there. Then we started negotiating the price and my trade-in. Matt was courteous enough to make the numerous back & forth with his manager to get me the car for an agreeable price and without wasting much time I signed up for it. Matthew was very professional and thorough with his job to sell the car with utmost satisfaction on both ends of the business. He also got me a very good price on my trade-in. Then I met with Ricardo Oliviera for my financing needs and within minutes we were ready to make the deal. It was a wonderful car buying experience from here. I had my first hand experience with their service department for getting my accessories installed on the car and I am not sure why there is so much critique about this department, my experience with them was just plain professional, they explained to me what it takes to get all the accessories installed and met those goals in a timely fashion. Mr Randy went above and beyond to meet my needs and delivered the car on time and as promised. Again Herb Chambers Honda in Westborough has made the purchase of my new Honda Accord EXL easy, efficient and an all round great experience. Yury Menaker for the second time in four years helped me find the exact car I was looking for and at a price that pleased my wallet. He listened, asked questions, demonstrated the car’s features through a test drive then when we were both sure this was the car for me, led me through the paperwork needed to complete the purchase resulting in a fantastic deal. Yury is a true gentleman, knowledgable of both his product and his customer. Another point worth mentioning is the way the entire Herb Chambers staff works together for the customer. Adam, the business manager checking to be sure he found the best rate for me, Jimmy Sweeney, another sales rep. recognizing me waiting in line for my inspection sticker and automatically retrieving my new registration and bringing it to my car expediting the process and Ralph the service greeter who kept me up to date on the time and procedure being done. Herb Chambers Honda in Westboro certainly receives kudos from me for recognizing that it is the people behind the product that makes a great company. Very satisfied with our car buying experience! We live one town over from the Norwood auto mile. I had been in the competitive dealer and was not impressed with my salesperson or the quality/price of the Honda Pilots. They had a ton to choose from but were all moderate quality. I happened to look online at Herb Chambers. Immediately I was impressed with the quality of the vehicles they had on hand. I visited the Dealership the next day and dealt with Pierre. The next day I brought my husband and purchased our used 2009 Pilot. Pierre was really awesome to deal with. Very personable and honest. Our financing person (Adam) was also very professional and nice. I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing a car from Herb Chambers and Pierre.

We have lived in Mass for 12 years now and have bought our fifth car from Herb Chambers Honda and our last two at the Westborough location. We entered the show room late morning yesterday and walked out with a Honda Pilot and, as always, could not be any more impressed with the professional customer service and willingness to listen to our needs and expectations. Rick was great to deal with and Matt D the Sales manger was extremely professional and helped us put together a deal we felt extremely satisfied with at the end of our experience. I drove home in my new 2013 CPO Honda Pilot yesterday and could not be happier with my buying experience. My first contact was on line with Brittany. As I waded into the process and was exploring several dealerships on line, Brittany was the most responsive by far. She never failed to hit a deadline and always got me the information that I requested. When I had narrowed it down and went to the dealership I was introduced to Jim Sweeney. Jim is a PRO. Herb Chambers preaches a consultative approach and Jim personified that approach. He knew his product backwards and forwards. He was patient and thorough in answering all of my questions and when necessary filling me in on things I didnt but should have asked. My homework showed the Smart Price to be very competitive, and we made a deal very quickly. I believe I got a great vehicle at a good price and the process was smooth. If you are looking for a Honda I would highly recommend calling Jim Sweeney.

I NEVER write these reviews. However, I really feel that Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough (and Herb Chambers in General) really has gone above and beyond and deserves recognition. I purchased a brand new 2015 Civic a few weeks ago, and the entire experience has been great! I did have a couple of issues (all of which were because of myself, not the dealer) First, our salesman Anthony was awesome! He was knowledgeable about the car, he was SUPER friendly, and really did everything in his power to ensure that I was a happy customer. I got a deal that I was happy with on my new car, and was able to drive it off the lot the same day as signing the paperwork! From here, is where (my) list of errors began, that the Herb Chambers group did everything in their power to ensure I left a happy customer. I accidentally left my EZ-Pass transponder in my old car that I traded in. It took me a couple of days to notice my mistake. I called Anthony, and he tracked down my old car (which was on its way to auction), and got the transponder returned. Awesome service!! Before I even got to fill the gas tank for the first time, I managed to mess up my brand new car backing out of a spot. Sparing the details I broke the front bumper cover slightly, tearing a bolt and 2 pins holding the bumper cover on. Obviously I was completely beside myself, as I just messed up my BRAND NEW CAR that didnt even have 300 mils on it yet! OH NO!!! But yet again, Herb Chambers to the rescue! I brought the car immediately to the Herb Chambers Body Shop in Ashland, MA to get a quote for a repair. I told the tech my story about how this is a brand new car... He took my keys from me at that moment, and pulled the car around back, asking me to wait a few mins. 15 Mins later he pulled my car up being completely fixed! He had to do a slight patch-job, but my bumper looks like brand new without a scratch on it! I asked him what I owed him, and he said NOTHING!! I coudlnt have been happier! I wasnt looking for anything free, but once again, Herb Chambers went above and beyond to make me happy! Lastly, I had a mis-understanding as to the functionality of the after-market car starter I had installed as part of the purchase deal. The manual for the car-starter said that by default, the parking lights would remain on when the car was remote started, making it easy to tell if the car way running from a distance. Apparently this feature was not supported on my particular car. Within minutes of learning this information, my salesman Anthony just happened to call me to follow up to ensure I was happy with everything. He had no idea the issue with the starter was even occurring. I explained to him that I was a little upset over the car starter issue. Anthony apologized immediately and said he would talk to his manager, as they want to do everything possible to make me a happy customer. I got a call a couple hours later from the service department that my car was ready to pick up, and they managed to add some wiring that got the parking lights to remain on when the remote start was on. So even though the feature was not part of the starter, they made it work. Again... No charge. I used to avoid the Herb Chambers brand because of a service issue I had with my Toyota (years and years ago). But I have to say they completely changed my opinion, and I would recommend this dealer to anyone!!

When I went to Herb Chambers Honda I went into the Service Department entrance and I was pleased with the prompt attention I received from the Service Department (Jimmy White and Mike Altieri) They both were very pleasant and quick to assist. Jimmy had referred David Yang as my sales Rep. I am very happy he did. David was very knowledgeable. He explained all the ins and outs of the vehicle which made my decision very easy. I absolutely would recommend David to any of my friends, co-workers or even a stranger to buy a car from him. Five Stars all the way! David referred me to Tuan Lam in finance and he was so nice and made the process easy and fun. Overall very great experience buying a vehicle. I have bought vehicles from other Car dealers and was at the dealer ship for over 4 hours. The whole process at Honda Westborough was 2 hours and I got to take my vehicle home that day. I ended up getting the 2015 CR-V which I absolutely Love. Thanks Herb Chambers Honda in Westborough for having a great Staff and making my experience wonderful.

This is our 3rd Honda we have purchased from Herb Chambers. And although this is a lease we were treated with great respect from David Yang. We showed up on his day off, and of course he was in helping someone who wanted to buy their car that day, because David had sold us our last CRV we waited to meet with David feeling bad that it was his day off, that didnt matter to David. When David met us he remembered us and treated us very professionally and answered all our questions. Never once feeling pressured at all. Again we had tried to lease this car at a closer to home Honda dealership but they couldnt offer us the price that Herb Chambers did. Congratulations to Herb Chambers for hiring salespeople who treat you with respect and professionalism. We will probably see you again the next time we are looing for a car. Thanks Again!!

Originally, I wanted a used Pilot. Anthony found several that met my specs, and even offered to drive one from a distant Herb Chambers Honda to the Westborough location - without a commitment from me to purchase it. In the midst of this search, I went to a competing dealer to eyeball a used Pilot they had on the lot. I practically had to chew my leg off to escape from that dealer without buying a car. They employed every slimy sales tool in the book. On my way home, empty handed, I called Anthony to thank him for being such a wonderful salesman and a civilized human being. I already knew I was going to buy from Anthony, but my experience at that other dealer helped cement my decision in stone. Throughout my weeks-long search, Anthony remained helpful and in regular contact with me. Always quick to respond to an email or phone call, he updated me about newly-arrived used stock until one day I decided to get a new 2015. Anthony continued his helpful ways, and didnt upsell me on any unnecessary packages. He helped me get the exact car I wanted and needed, with no additional bells or whistles. Thats a tremendously rare experience when car shopping. I strongly recommend Anthony Kent, and the entire Herb Chamber Honda of Westborough dealership, to anyone who will listen. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had, and I owe it all to Anthony.

Franklin and the rest of the staff found me the absolute perfect car. They were very friendly and worked hard to make sure I got just what I needed.

The financing guy was nice, but otherwise it was an awful experience. I had garnered competitive prices from consumer reports, and had a low bidder. I communicated with the "internet sales team" and got a written promise to match any other offers, since this was the dealership closest to home. When I brought these it, I waited half an hour to see a salesman, who treated me like I was a huge waste of time, which got only marginally better when he realized I was older than he thought I was. I spent 4 hours there waiting, and only talked with him for maybe 15 minutes, as I had previously test driven the car I wanted, and had already negotiated the price. Similarly, instead of getting a little cubby, I was in a broken chair at a table alone in the middle of the showroom floor filling out my paperwork for all the world to see. There was no excuse for that. They did not wind up meeting the competitor bid as promised in writing, as the competitor had also offered free service for a year. These folks are good at saying "no". Then, they completely gypped me on the trade-in, despite my protests and a kelly blue book price using terrible math to say they were not making any money on the sale, and completely "forgetting" that they were going to sell the trade-in, and that I had intended to get some of the high markup extras (like the hard shell and warranty). As the line for financing was long, I made an appointment to come back so I would not have to wait again, and I sat in a chair waiting for a half hour again before being seen. I tried to walk out then, because it was disrespectful, and only got seen when I started heading to the door. If you do not care what you pay, by all means, use this dealership. If you know what the cars are worth, you are going to work long and hard to pay it.

I have never been so disapointed in both the sales and finance people. They will not help you get what you want. They will not listen to you. They will push you into what they want to sell you (anything new). I was disregarded when inquiring about a used vehicle when I wanted to trade in my lease. I am counting down the days until January 1, 2016 when I can walk up and say GOODBYE. Awful experience twice. I never should have returned when I was "lurred in" to sell my car back for a "new car at same price" load of crap. Dont go here.

Thanks and thumb up to Rich Merlino I have been a Honda customer for over 8 years and Thanks to Rich Merlino showed me & wife a couple different car s and took us on a test drive and let us leave without pressuring or trying to talk to us into anything so I could make me and my wife decision, which was nice because I was really not sure if I wanted a LX or EX-L V6 Accord at that point. He was pretty patient because we spent a good deal of time looking at the cars to learn all the features. He also found some good options for slightly option cars that would have worked too. Honestly, I thought I was going to go test drive a couple cars, and send my wife to go buy the car for me once I picked one to get a good price. But the no-pressure attitude and respect he gave me made me as comfortable as one can be when making such a big choice. When I went back, the manager did haggle with me a bit over the price, but it was very friendly haggling and I came out with a great deal. Once the deal was made, Rich bent over backwards to deliver the car and make the experience good for us , showing us how to use all the features of the car that my old car didnt have. Rich is pleasant to work with and a good person, so if he helps you buy a car, hell take good care of you.

"Honda Odyssey Tail Light Repair"

I had accidentally smashed my right tail light about a week ago in the afternoon. Since we were travelling out of state for the weekend, I wanted to get it repaired as soon as possible. I called Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough, MA and spoke with the Parts Dept. They were extremely helpful and ordered the part right away and said that it would be delivered the next morning. Wow, that made me so relieved. I then made an appointment to bring the car in at 1:00. Tony Ngo wrote up the order and noticed that my inspection sticker was due to expire at the end of Mand arranged to have the inspection done after the tail light replacement. Fabulous! Everything was completed in an hour and a half. I was so pleased with this excellent service.

I take my car to be services at this dealership because I have had nothing but excellent service starting with the greeting as I enter the building on through to paying the bill and leaving the building. Tony is so willing to listen to what I need and goes the extra mile to make it happen and then some. I bought the car in 2007 and have been no other place for service and to date i cannot find a reason to be discontent with the service Ive received over the many years. thank you for being so grand.

Xeno Sideropoulos really helped me and my aunt find a great deals on a Hondas that we eventually bought. He was very friendly and his customer service as probably one of the best Ive come across. He went above and beyond to help me find what I needed and made sure that everything I needed was taken care of. I would definitely recommend Xeno and this excellent dealership to my friends and family.

We saw an ad in our local paper for leasing a CRV from Herb Chambers and went to Westborough to get more information. Our associate was David Yang. He treated us with complete courtesy, was knowledgeable and thorough in all his explanations. He took us through the entire process without making our needs in a vehicle seem trivial, and covered everything completely. It was very clear that there would be no gray areas! We were offered coffee, water, and ice cream -- I think if we had asked for a meal, they would have gotten it for us ;) ! EVERYONE we spoke with was pleasant, respectful, and made us feel like what we were looking for mattered. Herb Chambers has taken car purchasing/leasing to a new level, and other dealerships could take a lesson from them! This was the second car we got from Herb Chambers -- we also have a Hyundai we purchased -- and we will absolutely go back for future purchases/leases.
