"It Is All About Customer Service"
For the sake of full disclosure, i leased the Prius i was driving from Santa Monica Toyota and went there with the mind set of leasing another, since my lease was coming to and end. That said, i ended up not leasing but buying which is attributable to what I felt was an objective and balanced presentation by the staff of my options. I have to say, that I dont think i have ever been in another dealership where my sales rep went out of his way to introduce me to a number of the other staff... who each greeted me with enthusiasm and warmth. It was a very positive experience from start to finish.
"Friendly, Fast Service..."
My experiences at this dealership in bringing in my vehicle for service has always been fantastic. They have provided excellent maintenance care for my older vehicle (2000 Camry ) through the last three years. The staff are always very friendly and courteous. The two service representatives I have dealt with usually are Mark Lewis and Joanna Tsymbaliuk. Both of them were very informative and non-pushy, when it came to explaining recommended repairs. This makes for a far more pleasant interaction than most people tend to expect at dealerships. I would totally recommend this service center (specially Joanna and Mark) to anyone who owns a Toyota, whether its old or new.

I recently purchased a brand new car from this location, and am very pleased with the staff, and their willingness to help in anyway they can. Corey was in constant communication with us, and gave us a very great deal! The only issue was the process of buying the car on the day of purchase. We had called in advance to say when we were picking it up, but still ended up being at the dealership for three and a half hours... Overall it was well worth it!

Buying a new car can involve a lot of anxiety. A Toyota is the same at any dealership. What makes the difference from one dealership to another is the final price and the integrity of the staff. At Santa Monica, what made the difference fo me was: 1.) Their willingness to meet a reasonable median for "out the door" price 2.) All staff that I met on the day of my purchase didnt apply pressure or hard sells 3.) Their attentiveness to details that lower a customers anxiety 4.) Prompt service I had been to other dealerships where a salesperson pounces at first sight and then rattles off several reasons why they are the best. Often, salespeople tell customers what they want to hear, even at the expense of the truth. Didnt get that at Santa Monica. David

I dont normally make a review when buying cars but lets make this an exemption. Been researching for cars the last few months looking for what I really wanted for a new ride. My heart is leaning towards hybrids. So off I went looking, comparing many models, checking specs, MPGs and price on different models from different manufacturers. Its a Herculean task for me! Drove to different dealerships. Had some not- smile-worthy encounters with these dealers. Finally went to Santa Monica Toyota where I got my first hybrid over the weekend. Mark Ashtini is the super hero who saved the day and helped make things happen. Very friendly, very patient, not pushy, straightforward and I would say he knows the car he is selling by heart. The deal was done hassle free and quick. Excellent service. Muy Bueno. This review will go on forever to Mr. Ashtinis favor if I dont stop now. He might get elevated to a demi god status in Toyota SM. The guy who worked on the financing, Hassan Movahed is also great. Dave Mcconnaughy handled my purchase of a 2017 Mirai. He conducted himself in a warm and friendly manner and led me through a mountain of paper work with barely a hitch. Once all that was done he showed me some of the idiosyncrasies of a fuel cell car and we drove to the nearby hydrogen station so he could demonstrate how to add fuel. I recommend Dave to anyone wishing to buy a Mirai. Based on 3 days of driving the car I dont know why everyone isnt driving a fuel cell vehicle.

Tony Doyle was our sales rep and I have to say he made the purchase a pain-free experience from beginning to end. I was expecting to go thru the range of emotions one usually experiences when buying a car but it was not the case at all. He was very professional the entire time and never once did I feel like I was dealing with a "used car salesman." Ive been in luxury car dealerships where the reps arent this professional. Toyota Motor Co should hire this guy to teach all sales reps on how to treat customers.

He quickly identified the inventory that met our requirements, and we were able to quickly focus on a car that met our specs. He patiently walked us through the features and functions of the car (a hybrid), and we drove out of the lot as if we had always driven that type of car. I leased a new 2017 Mirai at Toyota Santa Monica after attending one of the "turning point" events where we got to learn about hydrogen vehicles and test drive the Mirai. Edwin Fuentes helped me with all the technical details and we worked out all the purchase and leasing options. Since I knew I wanted the Mirai, he made the experience as quick as possible. Unlike the Tesla this is something I can fill up and be on my way in just a few minutes. This is a great vehicle and Im looking forward to being part of the zero emissions hydrogen economy.
