  • Our 2nd Crosstrek - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

We turned in our 2015 Crosstrek as the lease was coming up on it. We are VERY excited to move into the 2018 updated model. Not only does it look sharper and more aggressive but they made the inside wider and much more comfortable! They made the car much more quiet on the road and refined the steering. The car is fun to drive and feels planted to the road, as do all subarus. Our premium model has the eyesight system which is extremely safe and useful. The technology inside the car is wonderful. Android auto and apple car play are available as hands free phone options and the cars computer system handles them well and very speedy! The interior of the car is far superior than any Subaru I have been inside. Soft touch materials and perfect color choices make you feel like you are in a very refined vehicle.

  • Much better but still needs a bit more. - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

I went from 2015 Crosstrek CVT to the 2018 Premium CVT. I went to the Premium as I liked the cloth interior and wheel style better than on the Limited. Overall the car feels much better. Rides better. Much quieter and better breaks. Interior finish is also superior to the prior series. Basic stereo is also much better sound quality and Apple Car Play is HUGE! Still needs a bit more horsepower. The added torque is a plus but it could really use another 10-20 ponies. Now from going to the Limited to the Premium - you suffer in the digital readouts. The ODO and MPH gauges are red which is very cool but then they stick this super bland rudimentary and hard to read bright white gas gauge in the middle. Sorry, they whiffed on that basic readout and design. At night, the brightness and the style does not complement the other round gauges and I find this distracting. Stereo - Ill need to take it in as I get a lot of static when listening to regular radio. The biggest issue - major oversteer/understeer balance. Handling feel is nice but the oversteer/understeer balance was much better in the prior car. I know the car is now on the same platform of the BRZ which helps the feel and I am going to talk to the dealer about it. Im sure nothing will come of it but worth a shot. I most likely will keep this for the long haul and will address the handling. Bottom line - overall I do like this series better than the other. Its a comfortable car to drive and its a beast in the snow. I just may be a bit pickier than most?

  • 2014 vs 2018 crosstrek - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

I had a 2014 crosstrek hybrid touring @ 75,000miles and i traded for a new 2018 base model CVT. The base has everything i ever used! The update was such an improvement. Tweaked suspension feels Better, better CVT drivability (can accelerate @ 2,000rpm as hard as the older could @ 2800rpm) for town driving, heres to hoping the new one actually is more durable! (2014 had front suspension and 3 wheel bearings (@ 50,000), and a front axle replaced (@75,000. Was getting repaired when i test drove new model). I work from the vehicle doing a newspaper route.

  • Great Car - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

I have had the car for a couple for a couple of months. It feels great to drive and the ride quality is smooth. I personally love the design; it looks very modern. The safety features are awesome and are well worth the money. The base seats are relatively comfortable and are not causing problems so far. The only small issues I have are technology concerned. The touch screen is not as responsive as I would like and there can be glitches at times. The base speakers are not great, but I guess you were concerned about that, you could just get premium speakers with a higher trim level. Overall, this car is the perfect balance between a sedan and an suv. You are definitely getting the bang for your buck.

  • Looks cool and drives great! - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

Leased the car three weeks ago, I commute 40 miles a day for work. The car looks really cool I get alot of looks. The inside is nice and roomy and the car play is nice. The only thing I wish it had was more horsepower, this is the only thing I dont like. Engine feels weak and struggles to accelerate, but for the price point I guess I cant complain. Overall great car!

  • Superior comfort and control - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

I have only driven 1000 miles, but have been pleasantly surprised by almost everything. The electronic driving assistance is surprisingly good, with few false negatives or positives. Backing down a drive is strange - I have to rely on side mirrors and the rear camera, because you cant see much by twisting around to look. The only thing I havent liked is how the radio interacts with iPhone. Performance was completely unacceptable with iPhone 6s; it became okay when I bought an iPhone 7, but there is still a feeling of awkwardness with CarPlay. Too often when an interruption occurs (phone call, text, guidance instructions), whats being interrupted (radio, itunes, Overcast) never resumes without some manual intervention. This could be entirely Apples problem, though. The vehicle itself, although modestly powered, is one Id enthusiastically recommend.

  • Very safe car! - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

My husband and I are over 70. This is our second Crosstrek. I was having mobility issues. Im short. Hes tall, very tall. We both can get in and out of the Crosstrek with ease. We love the way it handles and the great gas mileage. We wrecked our first Crosstrek by hitting a deer on the four lane. The safety of the car is awesome. Although the car was totaled, we suffered no injuries. It is a very sporty car. We like that. Loving the Bluetooth feature.
