Overview & Reviews
A four-cylinder version of the XE slots into the 2008 Saturn Aura lineup as the entry-level model. Stability control becomes standard on V6-equipped XE models. All Saturn Auras come with satellite radio this year, and the trip computer gains an instant fuel economy meter. The Convenience Package now includes an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
- Potent and refined powertrain in XR model, balanced ride and handling, attractive design inside and out, roomy seating for all.
- Some ergonomic gaffes and subpar cabin materials, no rear center armrest, lifeless steering.

6+ months - 2008 Saturn Aura
By Sjones - October 10 - 10:53 pmI am re-rating the car after 6 months. The same things I liked when new are impressive now. The car looks expensive and I always notice other XRs on the road. The car is very quiet and the ride quality seems European. The stereo system is top notch and the seats are very comfortable. I know they have made some minor changes to address a few issues for the 2008 model year and I hope they continue to do so for the 2009 model year to make this a nearly perfect midsize sedan. Some folks are mad about fuel economy but the sticker said 17/26 for the XR so they should not be surprised. The car is heavy and has 252hp so you cannot expect 25mpg in city driving.

ONE GREAT CAR - 2008 Saturn Aura
By ONE GREAT CAR - October 4 - 6:23 pmI have owned this car since 01/08 and bought it new. i am extremely happy with it in everyway. it rides as smooth as all of the other cars that i looked at in the $40 to $50,000 ranges and looks just as nice if not better. I have had hundreds of people looking at it and asking what kind of car it was and who made it because of its beauty. I am especially impressed with its smoothness and gas miledge. others may have rated this Saturn low but as for me two thumbs up Saturn.

Suprised & Disappointed! - 2008 Saturn Aura
By USBrit2002 - August 5 - 3:53 amBought new. No prior preference. Just wanted good fit. In truth found it by mistake. Misread dealers Aura advert for Acura! Then saw it - black, sleek stylish & GREAT price. Im a tall Rugby player so I need room and selected model w/out sun-roof (who needs it anyway?). Agree with every previous positive comment. May not be a top luxury interior - but its roomy and at great price. Then, GM closes Saturn! Thought - why end a modern, distinctive, fair-priced range whilst keeping two mediocre look-alike clones; (Chevy & GMC)?

Best in class - 2008 Saturn Aura
By chrono - May 17 - 8:56 pmI did a lot of research before buying my Aura XR. I wanted to replace my boring 2005 Accord with something more fun to drive. The Aura did that and far exceeded my expectations. This car is on the same level as the Acura TL not Accords or Camrys. Its quiet, smooth, powerful and loaded with just about every option youd ever need. This is my first Saturn but I anticipate staying with them for a very long time.

Aura owner - 2008 Saturn Aura
By ICOLBERT - April 16 - 7:50 amI bought my Aura Xe and drove it from York Pa. to Albequerque Nm with out a hitch. Driving 70-80 mph with the cruise control on I got 28.7 mpg. This car is what an American car can and should be. This car is so quiet that you can not hear the windshield wipers working. I owned an SC1 for five years and the only money I put into that car was tires and brake pads. I will always be a Saturn owener because thay have earned my respect by producing a quality product.

Pleasantly Surprised - 2008 Saturn Aura
By Anthony LaRusso - April 9 - 2:33 amAfter driving higher-end, foreign vehicles for the past 12 years, I decided to give an American-made car a try. Before I decided on the Saturn Aura, I already tested a Saab 9-3, Mercedes C, Audi A4 and Lexus IS250. The Aura was roomier, quieter, more comfortable and almost as nimble as these much higher priced cars. Its fresh exterior has piqued the interest of many fellow motorists, who have stopped me in parking lots and at the car wash. To a person, folks were very impressed and even more so, when I told them the cost of my XR which is equipped with every available option Saturn offers. My other vehicle is a pricey foreign make yet I get as much a kick from the Aura as I do from it.

Love this car! - 2008 Saturn Aura
By Wendy - March 19 - 12:13 amI have owned this car for a little a month now and have loved every second of it. A lot of car for the buck. Fully loaded for less than any other vehicle in its class that I looked at.

Great Car - 2008 Saturn Aura
By Ron G. - July 25 - 1:26 amMy wife and I both love this car. We drove everything out there including Toyota and Honda, the quality of this is every bit as good if not better. Rides great, smooth, quiet, fun to drive. We have the old pushrod V6 - gets better than 30 MPG at 65 mph. I have never liked a vehicle as much as this car.

My First New Car - 2008 Saturn Aura
By Yataiva Harris - July 22 - 3:03 amI have had my Saturn for almost a year now and I love it!! I get very good gas mileage in the city and on the highway. I have gotten many compliments from coworkers and from people on the street about the new look of Saturn. The experience I have had as an owner has been nothing less than superb! I have scheduled appointments for regular maintenance with various dealerships and everyone has been friendly. The only issue I have had thus far is a remote that worked at its own convenience. At the dealership, the service representative was friendly and swapped my remote while my oil was being changed. I would truly say that this car is a very good buy.
