  • not a bad ride - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Not a bad car. Has 93000 miles and only things replaced have been alternator at about 80000 (seems a lot of them have this replaced) and wheel speed sensor at 37000 miles. Dash squeaks are annoying, but are hardly noticeable after driving for a while. Engine hasnt been touched, except for oil changes, and runs like is brand new.

  • Had some problems but in love with it! - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

My parents bought it at 95,000 miles and i was 15 and eager to drive it. It went from seattle to san diego and back overloaded and equipped with a Quad 4 engine, but it did a good job! Now its at 156,000 miles and it died and is waiting for a new engine. Im 18 now and the car was given to me, i will fix it up and remember those happy times we had with the family in that car.

We just bought a used 95 Grand Am, weve owned it for about a month and I have already taken it on two trips (over 5k miles) and the car has ran wonderfully. Only minor problems i.e. blown fuses and short in blinkers - went out in Atlanta so that was a pain, but lived through it. Overall a great car, with wonderful seats!

I bought my grandam at the same time my mom bought her masda protoge and since then i can see difference in the two .My grandam has had a head gasket job ($1000),stuck shifter ($70),several electronic sensors averaging $600 dollars excluding labour charges, failed ABS system($400), overheating ($200),no heater (Something is wrong with the heater core)....the list is endless. My advise ..DO NOT GET A USED GRANDAM..andif you have a trouble free one get rid of it before 100K besause thet is where the trouble begins

This vehicle was very reliable out of the 7 years that we owned it. It was sleek and easy to handle, with a V-6 engine it had a lot of get up and go. The Pontiac Grand Am is not designed for carrying lots of people or baggage though..perfect for a single person or a couple without children. The passenger side seatbelt constantly got stuck in the car door...it never would automatically retract...I read that this was a common complaint among 1995 Grand Am owners.

  • Well worth my money - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Was a great car that I enjoyed owning for 12 years. I bought it many years back and it was only my 3rd car I have ever owned. $8000 was the selling price with 81000 miles on it. I hung up the keys finally (but regrettably) last week. I had not payed attention to the coolant level, and with an aluminum block in a quad 4, you never want to overheat it. unfortunately I blew a head gasket. This car has been the best thing I have owned and, if treated right, would be an excellent car for a daily driver.

Well. I just love my new Grand Am (well, new to me). No problems yet, handles well, looks awesome, great fuel economy (well, good for me, since it is twice as good as my old car). It is just an over all fun car to drive!

  • Dependable Car - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Weve had the car for over 8 years now and had very little trouble with it. The alternator finally did give out after 6 years but other that the normal things like brakes, belts and hoses, no real problems except for the cap piece for the spark plugs. Quad 4s are unusual and I have changed that phenolic cap for the spark plugs twice.
