Villager Pros & Cons - 1995 Mercury Villager
By BertBert - May 15 - 2:00 amThe good thing about the early Villagers is that they all have the same shortcomings so when something goes wrong, its easy to diagnose. We have 104,000 miles on it, so we cant complain too much, but every couple months it needs some sort of repair.

Better than most - 1995 Mercury Villager
By robandmarilyn - December 6 - 10:23 amI bought this van with 160,000 miles on it. Original owner had made no major repairs to it. It has almost 200,000 miles on it now and still running strong. Only problems I have is the front end components consistantly have problems (thanks Ford). Had it been totally built by Nissan it would probably be unstopable.

Great Car - 1995 Mercury Villager
By Hot Rod - November 27 - 10:00 amBought new in 95, after 7 years and 90,000 plus miles, we finally had our first repair and it was just a loose motor-mount and topping off coolant for the a/c. We love this car.

Looking for another - 1995 Mercury Villager
By edmunds rules - October 11 - 10:00 amWe like our villager so much, we are looking for a deal on another. Has 112,000 miles. Engine and trans have had no problems. Has been on 1400 mile (round trip) 4 times. Perfect every time. Side glass rattles were fixed by replacing the hinge on the glass. Most expensive repair was radiator fan. I did learn that most dealer parts can be bought cheaper from Nissan. The fan I mentioned earlier-- Mercury $264 Nissan $179. Getting ready to buy a newer van. After looking at and driving a few, (Chrysler, Chev, Olds, Toy, Hon) we decided another Villager will give us the best "bang for our buck"

Best Car Ever Made - 1995 Mercury Villager
By Randy - January 15 - 11:30 pmAfter 10 years of faithful service, I am selling my van today to make way for a sporty new SUV. Based on reading other reviews, I obviously was lucky to purchase the best-built Villager ever. The original engine and tranny are still strong after 10 years, electrical works perfect, ride is smooth and quiet. This has been a noble, reliable friend to my family.

It has been a good car. - 1995 Mercury Villager
By MercMan - November 15 - 2:00 amWe purchased this new in 1995...now have 103,000 miles on it. The only "out of the ordinary" repairs have been a broken hinge on the sliding door, a small fuel leak under the hood, and a broken rear AC/heat motor (seems to be a common one). The ride remains good. I have never kept a car this long. Overall it has been an excellent car to own.

good van - 1995 Mercury Villager
By -=$PEED=- - November 7 - 10:00 amI bought this van used at 80,000 KM and have put on 5000ks already, it was well worth the 10 grand and it has nothing wrong at all with it. The audio system could use some work, and the back speakers are almost impossible to change, but the rear sliding seat it perfect for my families lifesytle of allways being on the move.
