Overview & Reviews
For 2012, the Lexus CT 200h gets a few new features. One is an audible warning system to alert pedestrians and cyclists to this quietly approaching hybrid. Another is the optional F Sport Special Edition package that adds a sport-tuned suspension and a number of visual tweaks.
- Engaging handling for a hybrid
- Best fuel economy in its segment
- Attractive price
- Driver-friendly cabin with superb ergonomics.
- Not a lot of in-cabin storage space
- Pokey acceleration
- Some controls look dated and less than premium.

Another Hit From Lexus - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By mike995134 - September 15 - 5:37 amWOW-WOW-WOW ... what an amazing car!!! Its not at all sluggish as has been written by some. Of course it doesnt do 0-60 in 4 seconds ... but we have not had any problems merging onto the freeway or climbing up hills. The Normal Mode is fine for this, but for a little extra oomph, just kick it over to Sport Mode and this thing moves. The ergonomics are great. We traded an Infiniti EX35 for the CT, so it is a tad smaller ... but no worries, we can still carry people, our pets and haul other stuff as needed without any problems. And of course, we absolutely love the fuel economy too. 42+ mpg is the norm for our combined city-freeway driving thus far. How awesome is that!!!

48 MPG ! - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By striker6 - September 7 - 4:05 amThe main reason I purchased it was my total disgust with supporting corporate gasholes at over $4gl. Yes,I am actually averaging 48 mpg! If you arent ...change your driving habits. It wont win any 1/4 mile drag races, but where in this overly congested country can you go more than a 1/4 mile most of the time without stopping for a red light. I traded a high performance sport coupe that I was only using 25% of its power less than 50% of the time...wheres the logic in that ??!! This car rides just as well, and I really dont miss taking off ramps at 90mph ! Its extremely comfortable, very stylish (gotten many compliments), and of course, Lexus quality. Best bang for my $ in many years !!!

54 mpg!?!? - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By ernbon - May 26 - 3:11 pmMy wife got this car (2012 model) two weeks ago as a birthday present. She just came home from a luncheon and advised me that she is now getting 54 MPG! After telling her she was crazy, I went down to the garage and checked for myself. Remarkable. She is very satisfied with the car so far.

F-Sport not comfortable - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By scott261 - April 21 - 3:26 amI want to begin my review by saying the ct200h f sport is a good car, but it is not comfortable, especially if you drive long distances. Stay away from the F-sport. The bucket seat design offers no support, despite the built in lumbar support. And once I highlighted the problem I have had very poor support from Lexus themselves, giving me contradicting information. I have had a physio and an occupational health advisor state the seat is causing my back problems, and had no prior problems with Audi, bmw, Ford or Peugeot. All cars I drove long distance. I had no problems with the seat of the regular ct200h, Im curious to know if anyone else has had problems with the f-sport??

2012 200CT - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By donce - September 22 - 12:00 pmThumbs up! I also own a Prius so I knew what I am getting into with CT. Great build and finish. Overall very tasteful interior layout and exterior. Very stable/controlled in turns. I am averaging about 42-43mpg so far in mixed driving, but have to keep in mind that I only driven it since mid-February to Mid-April in Connecticut. To all hybrid newbies: fuel consumption falls down more significantly in hybrids in winter season compared to standard cars. So I am expecting better mpg as we head into warmer season. One more thing, if you drive any car 3 miles and its parked there all day, and then drive back home the same distance, you will never achieve advertised mpg on any car except EV.

Toyota Hybrid drivetrain w/o the Prius looks - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By tk1971 - August 6 - 10:40 pmLike it or hate it, the Toyota Prius has successfully mainstreamed the hybrid car. The first gen cars that are still out on the road is a testament of how reliable this drivetrain is. But for some (like myself), I cant get past the way it looks (like a door stop). Its just not my style. The Lexus CT200h floats my boat. Compared to a Prius, its a very different car. The front bucket seats alone are worth the price of admission. The sporty good looks, larger alloy wheels, and luxurious amenities sacrifices some MPG, but Im getting more than 45mpg. What more can I ask for? Sure, its on the low end of the Lexus totem pole, but its definitely more comfortable than a top of the line Prius.

An honest review on the ct200h - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By ctenthusiast - August 30 - 3:25 pmFirst off, let me say that I love this little car! I am a 62", 180 pound, 41 year old man... So you know a little of where my points of view are coming from. Lets address the categories that I didnt rank with 5s, first off, performance- performance is pretty good all in all, and particularly in sport mode it reacts quite well... However, make no mistake, this is not a sports car! It is a hybrid that is getting you up to 60 mpg at times. If you want to spin tires and blast 0-60 in 4 seconds you are going to have to rethink buying this car! Second, comfort- I am a fairly big guy and I find this car to be really very comfortable, I have my seat at the furthest and lowest position.

Stylish well built car, not suitable for families! - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By Richard Waldron - September 29 - 10:43 pmHad this car almost 3 years now, just reached the 30k mark. It is a great little car with good gas savings. We seem to average about 40-45 mpg with a mix of city and highway driving. I really only have 2 complaints.. 1. It is very low. So low I can not drive it up my drive without scrapping the bottom. So I have to park it on the street. 2. It is great for 1-2 people, but the back is too small for adults. With a baby on the way we will have to trade it in. Definitely no room for a stroller in the trunk! Trunk can not even fit a regular size suitcase. Tip: go to Toyota not Lexus for any servicing. A major Lexus service costs around $750. Toyota charge $200 for exactly the same service

F-Sport Special Edition a blast to own! - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By jmickens - July 10 - 4:44 pmGot this car after seeing it showcased at the annual car show and the suspension upgrade is VERY noticable. To go from getting 50+ mpg on the highway to carving up backroad twisties makes this car the new MINI only better looking and WAY more upscale. Would highly reccomend.

Stylish Fuel Sipper - 2012 Lexus CT 200H
By orangelebaron - January 14 - 5:20 pmI have the 2012 premium fire agate (brown) for 13 months and 14,200 miles. Most people give 5 stars and rave about this car. Im not so easy. Fuel economy has been 37 to 44 depending on time of year. The handling is fantastic. But ride is hard due to low profile tires. The brakes are extremely powerful. The seats? Good for 100 miles after that my legs go numb because the cushion is too soft in the middle, causing circulation to get cut off to my legs. Better for short trips. Back bolsters are too aggressive. Rear passengers cannot place feet under seats because of HVAC. Nav system is way too complicated and frustrating. You end up giving up and using your iPhone many times.
