Im not old & gray but liked the Park Av - 1998 Buick Park Avenue
By MLMB - November 5 - 10:00 amIve driven my Pk Ave for 6 yrs, and enjoyed the comfort ride, many perks, fuel economy and size. Wrecked it and got good front end protection (I totaled the full sized pickup truck I hit!). Large trunk is great. Didnt like the suspension - the bottom drops hard in some cases. Also huge expense at 120,000 miles for repairing the plastic intake manifold $1300!! Common problem according to the mechanic, and they no longer use plastic, he says. Only selling it to get a car large enough to handle our dog kennel!

Very reliable Buick - 1998 Buick Park Avenue
By mkclancy - July 2 - 6:13 pmThis car is the best I have ever owned in my 40 years of driving. My husband, now deceased said it was my car because I liked it so much. It is beautiful and I get many compliments about it. I have kept it it good condition and have followed the Buick program for annual maintence procedures. Such as 60,000 mile check-up procedures. I most like the bench front seat which most vehicles do not have. We found it gives very good milage for this size and make auto, 25-28 miles per gal.with conservative driving practices on highway driving.

Stay away form the ultra - 1998 Buick Park Avenue
By Tim Rudasill - February 13 - 7:36 pmMy wife and I bought this one owner car thinking it would the best choice we could make.WRONG.After owning it for 1 year we start having transmission trouble.$1400.00,4 months, and 4 bottles of Advil extra strength later we still have the same problem. It shutters real bad when taking off from stop. And just when every wants to scream about ford transmissions,Gm aint no more better. My Mechanic Worked for ford for 22 yrs.never has seen this before. If it werent for true, i would tell you.The car is well worth the money if GM would fix for free.Oh Yeah!I almost forgot....If you plan on changing your battery, let Gm do it.My gas hand and temp. hand dont work now.broke when i changed it myself.Good

Enjoyable Car - 1998 Buick Park Avenue
By Big Buddy - February 1 - 10:00 amBought used after it sat for one year and had many problems that were fixed under warranty and those have not reoccured. Interior trim needs better attachments - snap ins do not hold, gave up on trim on side between front and back, exterior door handle broke, cassette player broke 2 weeks miles after warranty expired. Note on seatbelt - there was a recall.

Great Car Overall - 1998 Buick Park Avenue
By JAB1998 - January 30 - 2:06 amFlaws are similar to other reviews. Ash tray was replaced once @ $125, but next time it was super-glued closed! This car gets over 30 mpg on road trips & about 24-26 around town. It is comfortable to drive, large trunk & back seat allow for passengers on trips. Drivers seat (leather) is coming loose at seam between front & back, but overall the interior is holding up well. With close to 180,000 miles on this 12 yr old car, I cant complain about some wear & tear. This car is loaded with features. I love radio & cruise controls on steering wheel, 2 memory power seats, & my favorite is the temperature and compass on the rear view mirror! I am sad that they are not making this model anymore...

1998 Park Avenue - 1998 Buick Park Avenue
By Bobby Hood - September 14 - 8:36 pmThis car has given excellent service over the last four years. It has only had two major failures both of which had to do with the plenium (intake manifold) rupturing and dumping water on the pistons. Neither instance seemed to have harmed performance in any way. The only other problem--last week the power steering unit fell off. I do not remember any specific thing I may have hit in the road that could have broken the bolts, but the car has had a couple of jolts from things which I ran over at high speed. One of which was the recap off a truck tire at night. It did warp a rim. Its cranked right away (179,000 miles) and it has been a great road car.

Nice car, no problems, Id buy another one - 1998 Buick Park Avenue
By paul mockalis - March 19 - 9:06 pmMy car was bought with 98k from a very small dealership. He put 4 new Eagle GTs on and fixed the stabilizer strut which was worn from normal wear. I had a set of front struts put on and left the rears alone, then tuned it up with a fresh set of NGK Iridium plugs,a K&N air filter and oil filter, and use full synthetic oil. The car runs, drives, and performs perfect, with no problems at all. Theres something to say about putting top quality tune- up components and oils into your vehicle, dont be affraid to invest a little money because the results will be very noticable.
