For 2006, Volvo has rearranged some of the S40's option packages and revised the cupholders. Steering wheel-mounted satellite audio controls are now standard on the 2.4i trim, and the six-speed manual transmission on T5 models gains a pushdown function to engage reverse. There are also new 16- and 17-inch wheel designs and a new optional air filtration system for the T5 that Volvo says goes beyond traditional carbon filters to help reduce occupant exposure to carbon monoxide.

  Love this car! - 2006 Volvo S40

  You cant find a better car for the price. All the features on my Volvo made it irresistible, heated leather seats, traction control, 6 CD changer with 12 speakers, sunroof, I love it. It is so much fun to drive, I find that the 2.4L engine is enough for daily driving, it has good pickup and delivers a smooth ride. I feel so safe when I get into this car, and it handles really well.

  Great Little Car! - 2006 Volvo S40

  This is my first "new" car purchase and I am completely happy with my choice. It was a toss up between The Volvo S40 and the Audi A4 and the Volvo won out because I ended up saving about $4,000 over the Audi. Some would say that you cant compare the two, but I feel that I got the better deal. I love my new car and wouldnt trade it for the Audi for any reason. The handling is responsive and pick up in the T5 model is great!

  Weird Sounds, Other Troubles-a Mistake! - 2006 Volvo S40

  This is my third Volvo (740 960 and now S40) I am very disappointed with the quality and support from volvo. Pressure sensor was bad inside gas tank and fixed by dealer. The car makes very annoying Owl-like sounds, which the dealer has not fixed. Supposedly volvo is working on a computer software fix. The clock occasionally resets itself--another annoying feature. Save your money for a higher quality car. Do not expect any help from Volvo when you complain....apparantly Volvo has lost all class after having been bought by Ford.
