Phaeton vanishes from US market - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Christopher De Jonge - June 22 - 11:36 pmI enjoy my Phaeton. It has beautiful interior trim. The exterior is sleek and muscular. The handling is sub-optimal, however I am used to more sport drive handling. It is a gas-guzzler. Perhaps the most disconcerting thing is that 2006 will be the last year for new model Phaetons. Already the resale value has tanked. Further, I question whether parts might be hard to obtain.

Theres nothing better out there - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By M. Martz - May 22 - 2:00 amI loved this car from the minute I saw it, it had great design and I knew it was reliable because of Volkswagens history. Also, I loved the features, most of wich were standard, they were easy to use, but attractive at the same time, this car is the best by far. I couldnt be happier with my new purchase.

Perfect except for Tire Pressure Monitor - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Donn Weinberg - March 10 - 9:10 pmI love my Phaeton. It is great- looking, handles and drives beautifully, provides the ultimate in creature comforts, has the upgraded sound system, etc. My only problems have been two. The minor one: the fancy windshield wiper system had to be changed for a standard system, which works fine. The annoying one: after 4-5 times in the shop and two complete replacements of the tire pressure monitoring module, the system insists on flashing either a flat "tire" and/or a fault in the wheel -- this even when my hand-held digital pressure monitor shows equal pressures on the front tires and on the back tires. Still not right. MPG really is 22 if all highway, 16 in mixed driving.

2004 Phaeton V8 - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Eyecare - January 2 - 9:00 pmThis car is an exceptional value in the used luxury car market. The fit and finish are impeccable. Elegance and refinement abound. This car is much heavier than other luxury cars in its class. Part of the reason is the quality of built as well as sturdiness of its frame. This car has one of the stiffest (if not the stiffest) frame of all cars in its class - a real safety feature. You may as well buy one with all the options as it costs significantly more to add them on later if you want it. Still, the standard feature list is extensive and more than enough for most people. Look for low mileage with complete warranty records. This is more luxurious and unique than my 12 cyl 7-series BMW.

Definitely dont like it - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Who Cares - December 16 - 11:43 amThe Volkswagen Phaeton V8 is heavy, and large, and heavy. Did I forget to mention its heavy? Im not a driving enthusiast, (who would guess it from a buyer of the Phaeton?) so I wouldnt care about its weight, the but feeling after driving 8+ hours is awful - it feels like Im moving all 3+ tons with my own hands. Compared to my recently purchased Audi A6, which is a class lower, the A6 wins hands down (now I understand what fun to drive means).

Review of Phaeton - 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton
By MichaelNoda - October 6 - 5:16 pmThe Phaeton is a very no nonsense luxury vehicle. It has all the appointments of its competitors, but has the practicality of a VW. The uniqueness of the big VW has many on lookers, wondering if this is a Jetta on steriods. The interior appointments are first rate with the exceptions of a couple of cheap buttons. The heated and cooled seats are very comfortable. The exterior shape is very clean, simple, and attractive. The interior cabin shuts out most unwanted noise and the upgraded sterio is unbelievable. The VW network is very proud of this vehicle and is very helpful when servicing the vehicle.

Phaeton - The IQ test US drivers Flunked - 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton
By GripperDon - October 1 - 2:33 amThe Phaeton has the greatest combination of materials, design, assembly precision, and compenent selection of any car I have ever driven. It makes my Mercedes-Benz S-Class look shallow. What a shame there was no advertising.
