What a bargain - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By george bentham - March 5 - 3:36 pmThe Volkswagen Phaeton W12 is the best kept secret in luxury automobiles. it has features galore, impressive performance, and terrific handling. Some critics have said the steering is too soft. Having owned at least one of each German made car, I can say the handling can only be criticized by a professional driver or nitpicking journalist. It corners beautifully and the all wheel drive is a bonus. I can only be critical of the navigation system, it doesnt have any street names. Otherwise, the car surrounds you with luxury and performance. With factory rebates to dealers, the price is astounding for a car of this level. I shopped the Audi A8L, BMW 745, and Mercedes S500. This car is a notch above them for about the same price.

Phaeton WILL NOT DISSAPOINT!!!! - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Chris K. - February 11 - 5:20 amFinest car I have ever driven (LS400,Beemers, A8, Jags better look out). Certainly, no american and very few foreign cars come close to the personality, presence, drive and feel of a Pheaton. Very luxurious but also very rewarding to drive. Wants for nothing! World class confort. Pay the extra $1000 for premium radio system...WOW! All-wheel drive great for Massachusetts winters. A true highway crusier, very mellow at 95mph, very stable, no wind noise. Beautifully performing engine and ultra smooth shifting. This Volkswagen is the real deal. VW really needs to do a better job of promoting a true world class automobile. Drive it and youll want to buy it!

The W12 blows away the competition.. - 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Jack - December 26 - 1:53 pmIt seems all the automotive editors are most concerned about whether or not VW should have built this car and whether or not people will pay this much money for a VW badged car. The editors instead should concentrate on what a magnificent car this is and the fact that it is practically hand built in a marvelous new glass factory in Dresden. It is rumored that the Bentley Continental (with which the VW shares many parts) will soon be built alongside the Phaeton. There are approximately 300 W12s out there in the USA. It has been a tremendous buy at the 04 closeout prices, and well could become a classic.

Great Car - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By fjd - November 21 - 5:53 pmThe Phaeton has an excellent drive and ride. I enjoy all of its bells and whistles. Due to the design by Bentley, this car will always be in vogue. Bentley has a way of determining styling that will last. I was a little concerned when I learned that they were no longer making this model...but it could help its value in the long run. I was most surprised by the acceleration and top speed. The 6 speed transmission and smooth ride enable you to cruise effortlessly had high speeds. Its fuel economy was another pleasant surprise. I have had Cadillacs, Jaguars, and Mercedes...this car surpasses all.

Consider yourself spoiled - 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton
By Nothing like it - November 12 - 2:00 amPreviously I have owned a 7 series, a few acuras, lexus, and cadillac escalade. This vehicle has definitely trumped them all! The massage seats for instance, the heated and cooled seats. The hidden vents, the adjustable seats, the programable keys, the power trunk...should I continue? EVERYTHING on this vehicle is powered. Mileage. Well, it could be better of course, but it is a awd vehicle and a very heavy one at that. If you are driving in snow, there is no better vehicle to protect you and your loved ones. I average about 330- 345 per tank and that is combined driving (mostly city though). I love when people do not even know what it is. They think jetta/passat until they get close!

By bob in nc - August 16 - 3:30 amGreat driving and riding car. The nav system needs improvement. Interior room and comfort, especially the back seat, are second to none. No detail has been left out. Well worth the money!

You gotta Believe!!! - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By JulianH - August 10 - 10:00 amMy new Phaeton is a dream come true. The fit and finish exceeds all new car standards here or abroad. VW has thought of everything, and I mean everything. The car has a real solid feel. Everything is computer controlled and at your finger tips. It is extremely quiet and the rear compartment is like a limo. I have owned several Mercedes and Q45s and they dont even compare. The 4WD is awesome. The brakes are the best Ive ever experence. The VW staff provided a two hour tour of the car before I could take it home. I dont think this will be my last Phaeton. I believe this car is making history.

Move over BMW, Mercedes and Lexus - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By gastro - August 10 - 2:00 amI have owned Audis for 15 years, including the A8. Naturally, when I had a chance to test drive the Phaeton, it was love at first sight. The vehicle was an Audi A8 with more extras and wow, what a great lease deal. I have test driven Mercedes 500 series, BMW 745i, and Lexus 430. Sorry, but the competition will have to come back with VW designs to beat this gem. It truly is a hand-crafted vehicle, with room in the back seat for a King.

Best Luxury Sedan - 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton
By pluckon - July 2 - 1:06 amThank goodness the Phaeton bombed in the market, because it allowed me to get a low-mileage W12 for barely more than $50,000. Ive been in almost every hoo-hah car on the planet and this ones the best. Its outlandishly fast, solid, beautiful and incredibly comfortable. The stereo is awesome, and they could fight a nuclear war outside and youd never hear it. By the way, I will never understand why luxury car buyers complain about fuel economy! If youre too cheap to buy a lot of gas, then for goodness sake dont get a 12-cylinder car.
