Worse than the first - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By Really Bugged - December 14 - 2:00 amNoisy. Slow. Unreliable. Cheap interior pieces. Grossly overpriced. Youd think I was talking about a Hyundai? Nope. Were talking about the "new" Beetle, which is a more miserable experience than the "old" Beetle. Every emissions control piece has failed. Switches break. Bottoms out in car washes. Recalls. More interior rattles than cars 1/3 the price. Of 10 cars, this is the worst Ive ever owned.

goodby vw - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By ttgd - December 30 - 10:00 amI HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE BEETLE. THE OXYGEN SENSORS, REAR BRAKES, WIPERS, DOOR LOCKS,BATTERY, ALL WERE A PROBLEM BEFORE THEIR TIME. THE DEALER HAS BEEN GREAT AND HELPED RESOLVE PROBLEMS, BUT FOR A NEWER CAR THEIR ARE WAY TO MANY PROBLEMS. I WILL BUY AN INFINTI NEXT, SOON....

Dangerous to drive - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By lindagill - May 30 - 7:56 amThe first few months headlights went out on my way home from work in the dark. Both went out at the same time. Happened again a year later. No one enjoys replacing the headlights. Sensor under the brake went out first year and second year. Was told by VW to bad you have to pay again. Car will not go into gear with out it. Learned to over ride it but dangerous to get to VW for repair. Sun roof one year leaks 250.00 plus 99.00 just to talk to VW. They have a sign when you walk in 99.00 a hour even if it does not take a hour you pay for it even if you only need a 20.00 part. Rims bad never held air in tires replaced tires over and over. To many repairs to list. Linda

2000 Volkswagen Beetle - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By sandy - November 29 - 9:43 amI purchased this car for my daughter. Its the worst car weve ever had. Major problems. Interior parts come off in your hand. Go to web sites before purchasing a bug. I traded it for a Saturn!

New Beetle - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By Cary - August 9 - 7:56 amThis is by far the worst car I have ever owned. I am a mechanic, and I can barely keep this thing running. It only has 49000 miles on it, and it costs about $200 a month in replacement parts alone. This car just falls apart, and you cant keep up with all of the broken items. This is definitely the last Volkswagen I will ever own.

My Black Stink Bug - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By BMO - January 24 - 10:00 amToo many repairs at 45k mi!! Yesterday the drivers side window got stuck down in the door--either motor gave out or window clips broke. Two weeks ago I replaced the battery and also recalled part changed. Already replaced the brakes at 30K. Broken window switches, replaced engine belts, replaced relay sensors for horn to honk again ($500). Peeling interior. Stiff suspension and bottoms out easily. Trunk doesnt always close easily. 6-CD changer doesnt always register. Have a crack in windshield but costs me extra to replace d/t over- size. The worst part is the sucky dealership service. HATE VWs now. Im dumping this thing for a generic but RELIABLE Honda

Lemon! - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By Hannah - January 3 - 4:00 amIve had my Bug for a year and half and had only heartache. I thought a Bug would be a good choice as my aunt had her 78 Bug for 17 yrs and was in still great running condition when she sold it. I was disappointed to find that this high reliability no longer exists in the new Bugs. To begin with the sensors had to be replaced, and the seatbelt covers. Then the oil pan sprung a leek, the axle bent, the cd player broke. Now my drivers seat no longer stays locked as it should. The sunroof visor is now off track and to top it off my air filter is now over heating the car and causing it to die and need a jump start. I cant run the air at all. Ive thrown over $4000 into the trash for this lemon car!

Just dont... - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By UGH! - August 16 - 8:10 amI have had nothing but one problem after another since I bought this car and it only had 12,000K miles on it! Now after I have spent $2,000 plus a $1,500 warranty, I am going to take a huge loss on the trade too. This car stinks and now everyone knows it. Just save yourself the trouble.

By Ammbs - June 12 - 2:00 amAfter owning the car for less than a year the entire engine had to be rebuilt. The car has been in the shop enough times for me to drive all almost all of the dealerships car in different colors. After owning the car for a year and a half it was in the shop for about a month. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR!!!

worst car i ever bought - 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle
By Megan - March 2 - 9:26 pmI first got the car it ran fine until 40k and 4 years later. The red engine light went on and i took to dealership where they said needs a new motor. That $3,000 next after that the red coolant light came on and that was a new water pump, thermostat, fans, thats another 1000. It is one big pile. my advice is to shoot it that would make it the best car i have ever owned.
